some more insights on the mon designs and overall brasilian culture: caramel dog. took me a while to realize but thats a caramel taffy candy dog on one of the teams and the loading screen, i,e, a caramel dog, which is a popular brasilian meme. the pink haired warrior coin thing iprobably is a strawberry flavored cookie, probably a "trakinas" cookie, which was a national cookie brand that had little faces on it. the plug mon is exactly what it seems like. the lil soda one is based on an old guarana flavored soda from the 90's named "pitchula" leychonk migh tbe me overthinking, but for some reason, older people tend to have these very odd overl designed cermaic chikens that they place on the kitches. that seems like a reference to that. cawcaw is a macaw, capi is a capibara, picorin is a golden lion tamarin (mico leão dourado). "picurino" is also how some people jokingly refer to tiny monkeys in some parts of brasil. the 4th starter seems to be based on an anteater species, probably a "tamandua bandeira" or a "tamandua mirim", which are native antears to brasil's fauna. the final electric looking starter kitten seems to me like a "onça pintada" cub, or a aguar cub acording to google, another very popular animal from brasilian fauna. "berimbau" from one of the team names is a popular instrument used in capoera "piratinga" from another team's name is a reference to "piraiba", a very big fish from the amazon. hence the place's name being "piratinga's creek" the evil team being team k-reta, you pronounce it like "carreta", its a reffernce to "storm carreta", or "carreta furacão", which is a street group that dances around dressed as popular characters like spiderman, thor, popeye, spongebob, etc. "ball in play" is like "bola no jogo" which is somethign we say to state the match has started "catch you on the way out" probably is a translation to "te pego la fora", which in portuguese, is something like a threat. like, you can't fight in that particular place, so you will fight outside on the street.

Hello there! I've been keeping up with Bagdex updates since the crowdfunding campaing and it's aweasome to see foreing content creators to be interested on it! For some context, all the Bagmons are inspired by brazilian culture, all of them are a reference to fauna, flora, culture, food or even memes. For example, the "Eevee thing" is based on stray dogs we have here and we call them "cachorro caramelo" because of its color that resembles caramel, or the plug thing that is an object every Brazilian has one at home, the five starters (Cawcaw, Picorin, Capi, Anthee and Magato) are animals that are common in specific regions of Brazil. The desing team is doing an amazing job at representing the brazilian culture through the Bagmons. And yes, unfortunately the demo is just a battle, that is because this the demonstration that they brought to BGS 2024 and CCXP, so it needed to be quick.
Thanks for sharing! 😁🙏 It's great to see more Brazilian culture in video games and it seems to me that it does steadily become more represented in this industry.
eu sinceramente adorei saber que bagdex está alcançando pessoas em lugares além do brasil, digos que como brasileiro eu fico muito feliz ^^ (I honestly loved knowing that bagdex is reaching people in places other than Brazil, I have to say that as a Brazilian I am very happy ^^)
Hope this game grows , there is a lot of love involved! From what I know, even some Brazilian content creators and artists will be NPCs with their own teams based on their tastes... very cool
Thank you for reviewing this! We have many good artists and developers in Brazil, but for whatever reason they don't get all the attention they deserve!!

Now I put my hope and time into other monster tamers like Ten Ten, Palworld and Bagdex. Curiosite timen: Palworld is a funny name in Brazil because "Pal" is slang for penis... in other words, Brazilians love to have big Pal's, strong Pal's, and bealty Pal's. Black 2 and White 2 for me, the game has so many stuff to do thats incredible. Plus Unova is one of the most beautiful and interesting regions in all the series
