It is a pity that old and historic buildings with beautiful architecture are being demolished rather than being restored. Once gone, they can never be rehabbed. There are so many buildings and artwork of this sort and era around Bridgeport that could be used as tourist attractions. Another is the beach at Seaside Park which was, at one time, the 3rd longest man-made beach on the East Coast. The people in power lack this vision and are totally devoid of any appreciation of the heritage and the history of Bpt. They are interested in only money and not " quality of life" things which cannot be measured directly in dollars. When have any spent a day with their family at Seaside Park except when the "Vibes" or the "Festival of the Sound" was held there. Joe Ganim jogs at Seaside but he is not interested in preserving the beach.
Ary, I really appreciate all that you are doing via your videos to call attention to the history and grandeur of Bpt. You should run to be a member of the city's Common Council or a member of the Parks Dept. The city and people of Bpt NEED YOU. You are more aware of and care more for the city than those in the Common Council and the Parks Dept. I can't because I do not live in Bpt.
I tell everyone that you can take me out of Bpt, but you can't take Bpt out of me. My slogan is:" Bpt born, Bpt bred, Bpt dead". I think you feel the same as I do about Bpt and its parks, especially Seaside Park.

Yes Ary, It’s sad that many of the great monumental structures from the past are no longer with us. City officials didn’t learn anything after Wheeler mansion was demolished. There is nothing of the past to share, except the pictures stored in the Bridgeport Library. Maybe they are waiting for another PT Barnum. Let’s see what Bridgeport is going to do to honor its past and please the the citizens in the Bridgeport area.

It’s a shame. The city of Bridgeport could have had it placed on the register of historical places and that could’ve saved it from the wrecking ball.
