  • Hello everyone, my name is Duong.
    I am 32 years old.
I live in a poor mountainous area of Vietnam.
From a young age, I had to work hard to help my parents.
Difficult life is always around, I work and learn everything from my grandparents and the old people in the village.
    Gradually, I mastered the skills.
5 years ago, I decided to live the challenge.
Determined to learn about the primitive way of life, I chose to live in the wilderness, alone.
Where there's no technology and forcing yourself to pass, it feels great!
How about you? Your life is definitely different from mine.
    Have fun watching the video!

Hello Duong, nice to see you again. I make quick inserts about observations of their agricultural growing areas. It is clear to me, from the presence of pteridophyte plants, that the soil is acidic and this diminishes or nullifies its productivity, and thwarts all its magnificent work. Therefore, alternative techniques to correct soil pH can be used. Calcium sources, limestone and phosphate rocks, also magnesian can be used. Egg shells, kiln substrates and slag, marine shells. Whatever you have, at the lowest possible cost. In this way, you will have a much more satisfactory result for food plants, with the exception of rice, cassava and sweet potato, whose management is different. A hug, good luck and blessings to you and family.

I was disappointed because I thought I had stopped making clothes.
But you did not betray me!
After the yarn is spun, do you want to weave the cloth with the loom?
Please show us the process with Primitive Skills.
I am really looking forward to it 😊

I do not know if it is feasible but I have a suggestion. Would you consider getting maybe a cat or dog? They could help you handle vermin rather well. Dogs can be trained to hunt rats so it is a bit more time-consuming, but cats would probably eat your chickens unless they were trained to not do so. Check out Joseph Carter, he's called the Minkman and he hunts rats, muskrats, and other such vermin in America with Minks and Dogs.
Hope you are recovering and getting better. I myself know too well how difficult it can be to handle your health.

i think setting up a herb garden on/around the rock wall between your house and the waterfall/pond could be fun... it'd help to limit the weeds growing there and would be nice to have them close for when you need them... i think both cooking herbs and medicinal ones should grow there due to the amount of sun it gets... the only problem is that the chickens would be able to get to them unless you find a way to stop them... for maybe if the herbs are the kind that chickens hate...

can we appreciate how incredible the spinning wheel part of this is? not only has he made one from scratch and had it work reliably, which is a feat in itself, but hes obviously gotten proficient at using it. As someone who's tried it in a living history context, the mucle memory alone to be that consistent takes many hours of practice. I never got the hang of it! i often wonder if parts of Duongs content are backfilled by mass produced supplies, but then he makes content like this and i think he probably really does do it ALL himself! very cool!

Hi Duong, I hope you recover quickly!
I would like to suggest you to replant new trees on the riverside - according to your needs, of course - as soon as possible; in fact, a common issue where I live is that the river banks are stripped of their tree covering, and when a heavy rainfall causes a flood these "naked" embankments are quickly eroded, ending up in landslides and mud flows that put at risk houses and fields. Tree roots, instead, will keep the riverbanks stable and will keep the floods under control!
This said, best wishes from Italy!🧡

Hasn't been that long for as I missed your last post by a few days so im still on catch up. Last thing was you helping your wife witha New Toilet system. Brilliant work. BTW. Would Love to hear how you got started & even as far back as to when you met Hoàng & how its been with having a Family & getting the idea to create Primitive skills. Wonderfaul the changes you have made to the area from when you 1st started. & yes I would love to have a life like yours. Being Physically disabled I cant move very much. (Spinal Injury) & watching the 2 of you on your channels living with 1 with nature is such a relaxing & good vibe feeling for me to see the world I never get to. Anyways enough of me. Wow! Making thread from scratch is such an amazing feat. Very Instructional on how to make it. You shuld think of writing Books on how people can go back to the primitive ways as there is so much to offer.. Love to all the Family & Hope you are all well & Happy. Stay Safe. TF

Maybe leather crafting is a good idea, you could make pritecting gloves, shoes, machete covers, etc.

You worked very hard. Nothing wrong with it, but time to take it easy now - you have to pay attention to your back. That is you framework to do what you want but if you do not take care of yourself first - you will be hampered to achieve you goals. Take care always.

Now that you have some yarn, you need to get some leather and make a knife holder for your machete to have around your hip.
I think it deserves it, for how much you've been using that tool.😄

Buenas tardes !
