I can't thank you enough for this video! My phone took a dunk in the sink and got soaked. I was able to rescue it and used standard dry-out techniques to get it working, but my power/unlock button was shorting and I couldn't figure out how to get the moisture out of there. Following your video, I fully disassembled the phone to remove the metal bracing with the switches and was able to dry them up directly to dry them out. Everything back together safely and my phone's 100% again!
Fantastic video. Thank you so much for providing a high quality and high definition detailed video on not only disassembling the Lumia 900, but also reassembling it.
Brilliant quality tutorial. I dropped my 920 into salt water yesterday. It works, but the mic for the speech to text is stuffed and I really want to open it anyway to remove any salt, cleanup any electrolysis, etc. Can't wait for that as I am stumped as to how to get it apart.
Very useful. due to my headset hole is weird , nothing is plug , but the diagnostic tools shows "connected" , so I bought a new case only cost me 19 USD. SO GOOD about this tutorial!!!! :D
Thank you very much. I just needed the confidence to use more force. It came apart easily. A point to note though is that the headphone jack had some glue around the hole that meant it stayed behind and separated from the board. There are only three small pieces of tape holding it in place. I am now stuck at separating the USB ribbon so I can really get in there and clean it. The good news is that there is no sign obvious of any salt water ingress.
This tutorial is awesome, thank you very much! I've replaced the speaker of my son's phone with success, a little tricky to be honest, but your video was essential. Thumbs up!
you will need to replace the microphone at 7:53, find the part online and ask your local tv repair shop if they can fit it as they should have the tools and skills to replace it
Great video lesson as always. I noticed that when you powered up the phone again to start the diagnostics test, there was no AT&T splash screen. Is this a different firmware? The AT&T tiles are there though after the phone boots.
I have reserved a Lumia contract for me in the week 2012-12-10...14 I would love to open it up (without warranty void) IMMEDIATELY Your professional videos are GREAT I can't wait the new Lumia 920 Video Torx T3? How do I know without a "stamp" ??? Thank you in advance of everything!
Hi Gilbert, Thanks alot for the advice. I follow exactly what you said and the problem don't exist anymore. Really appreciate your help, thanks again =D
Excellent video mate. Some of the parts in the phone were glued with adhesive and I noticed you didn't re-glue them. Will that cause any issues, like rattling or allowing dust to get in more easily?
yes thankyou just need some glue because the glue between the screen and plate not very good is not stuck correctly on the top phone they used about 1mm thread so that's the only issue. very good tutorial
Replacing the battery is easy enough but the usb charging port needs the use of a 'hot air' soldering iron. Google for part and find a local tv repair shop as they should have the skills and equipment to replace it.
Great video! I currently have a problem with the speakers of my Lumia 900. The loud speaker does not work at all except when I apply a little pressure at the bottom of the touchscreen where the windows logo is displayed. Do I need to replace the speakers (by replacing the rear housing) or do you think there is a loose connection that can be fixed without replacing the speakers? Thanks!
Thank you very much for the video. It is very informative. As a matter of fact, I have Nokia Lumia 900 RM-808 phone. I tried to upgrade it to a new version of windows from navifirm plus1.7, using Nokia Suite 5,but unfortunately , while I was doing that, the upgrading failed and stopped suddenly. Now my phone is not working anymore (dead), and it is not detected by Nokia suite and Zune applications. Anyone's advice/solution would be much appreciated.
Thank you so much. I fixed it. The pin came out hard, even the little NOKIA metal thing bended. I still have a small gap of 1-2mm on the left side between the screen and the panel, but I think it's because it's deformed.
Hey LE55ONS, love the video and I just used it to shield my touch buttons from the speaker to get rid of that issue. I saw on the Nokia forums that a lot of users complain about a rattling when the phone vibrates. I do not personally have this issue although if I shake my phone a certain way I can hear a small rattling noise. Do you have an idea what is loose that rattles and how it can be padded or secured. I know a lot of people claim it is the camera but in your video it seems secure.
Hi, excellent video!! I just wanted to ask you about my lumia 900, it stopped vibrating. It works perfect but it does not vibrate any more. I did a factory settings reset but it´s still the same. Any ideas? Is it reparable? have no warranty. Thanks. Congrats on your usefull videos..
Hi there, is there anyway I can replace the speakers because the magnet inside it is making my button malfunctioning whenever there is sound coming from it. Thanks for the informative video.
Greetings, excellent video. with the video I Fix the speaker. But now the touch button or back button does not work. The search and the home works . Any recommendation.
i bought the tools for this finally. well i had fixed the digitizer as it alwas partially out the upper left corner. but was gonna cleen off the rear lense and started to take the screen off but forgot about the long pin.
Great post. My screen is broken, but everything seems to work, the dilemma I have is whether to fix it or get a new one. It all comes down to whether I need just the glass or the digitizer along with the glass. The cost of the 1st case is $10 on ebay, the cost of the 2nd option is around 100, if it is the 2nd case, I will rather get a new phone. Please advise how I can figure it out. Keep up the good work.
I followed your video step by step and after a couple days my phone's vibration is not how it was before. It gives a faint sound and the power of the vibe is very faint. Is it the vibration module that needs to replaced? And if so is it replaceable? Thank you
GREAT VIDEO! Thanks. Im having an issue of my phone failing headset detection test. The phone thinks there is a headset connected all the time. Any ideas why? I think I might have damaged the something in the 3.5mm jack when I was prying off the metal frame off the plastic after the PCB was out.
Months ago I dried out my Nokia 900, everything works except for the gyroscope/magnetometer (thanks for the diagnostics info), is there a way to fix this - possibly by "cleaning" it somehow?
what size torx and phillips do i need? is it torx 2 and phillips 000 or torx 5 and a 000? my screen is cracked so i shall shortly doing a replacement once ive purchased everything :)
what would happen if I buy the one with the metal housing, does that the process of replacing the housing or the battery on the lumia 00 more difficult?
I have three screws that refuse to come out. Seems like the manufacturer had the Hulk install the screws. Everyone of the screws took great strength to remove. How do you recommend to remove these screws now that the heads are stripped. thanks
I disassembled and reassembled my Lumia 900 as per the guide. However, now my display has gone blank(black) :( I rechecked connections but no progress. But I think the touch works (because I was able to shut down the phone as normal). Any suggestion what can I do to fix my current display? I connected the display connection with the battery connected, is that why the problem might have happened?
hi.a month ago or so,you posted a video on how to unlock nokia 900 wita a pair of tweezers when dissasembly phone.can you help with some instructions please?cuz nowhere in my city can`t find a place to unlock it.thx 1000 times
I did try this initially. The corners flipped over easily, but it got hung up on the USB port. I tried to prise the end of the case away from the screen to no avail. If I pulled any harder I would have broken something. I am all too aware of the damage electrolysis will cause, so I will be stripping and cleaning as soon as I get over this challenge.
i got the laft side of the screen out then the right side bit forgot about taking the pin out from the sim tray area. almost broke my sim door tool and used other things to get it out. but the part with the hole ended up breaking. so i cant get that out and frustrated tore part of the digitizer ribbon cable. is this fixable now?
The issue is due to the magnetic interference of the speaker. I solved the problem by pasting aluminum foil in between the speaker and touch screen compartment after disassembling the screen from the phone. Hope it helps..
is there anything I can do to repair the broken speaker with this tutorial? I just dropped my L900 (it's the n-th drop), and then suddenly the speaker can't reproduce any sound (ringtone, playin music, via diagnostics, etc). the earpiece and headphone jack work normal btw.
hi, nice tutorial, very comprehensive, if you could also make as a USB charging input, cell or piece of micro sim, for the chip is changed. thanks and regards.
Great videos. I have a question though...I don't see anybody doing a power socket (mini usb) replacement. I have a 900 that doesn't charge right but torqueing the cable and laying properly helps it charge. Have you ever replaced the socket? Is it just the four legs or are there other pins?
Thank you for your excellent help! When I changed the screen, the loud speaker did not work anymore. I tried to remove the loudspeaker, but it does not come off. I warmed up the phone with a hairdryer. Would the proposal for how I would get stripped out the speaker?
Heikki Takkinen under the mainboard there are 2 sprung contacts that connect to the speaker, make sure they are not bent and sitting high enough to touch the speaker terminals
my nokia lumia 900 I dropped and began to pour a liquid on the screen, when I saw it, was cracked glass. What should replace and buy? thank you very much
I figured I'd ask here as you seem more knowledgeable than Nokia at the moment. My battery has stopped charging (But i'm convinced it's the actual mini usb port the charger plugs into), but due to a crack on the screen, they can't repair it without me paying out of the arse. Do you think it possible to replace the mini usb/battery at home? Or is it a lost cause?
Hi excellent video very helpful, my daughter seems to have damaged the sim contacts on the board trying to put in a new sim the phone cant see the sim .Do you think that they are repairable thanks in advance for any advice given.
its not an easy job to replace the sim tray as it needs the use of a 'hot air' soldering iron. Google for the part and then find a local tv repair shop as they should have the skills and equipment to replace it
Im done with everything, but I found that a fallen small ring was left behind. it is silver in color, very small and thin, with a diameter as big as the front camera's size, phone works without it. do i need to put it back in?
Great tutorial! I have one question thou, my Lumia 900 wont play any sounds at all. And when I try to call to someone (with or without handsfree device) they can hear me but I can´t. I replaced earpiece but still no luck. Does it matter how tight those little screws are?
dear le55ons can you maybe help me. dropped my nokia 900 lumia in bath tub took it quikly up and tryed to turn it of but no luck then i tryed to dry it with hairdryer because it worked on other phones i dropped (stupid me) then i put it in rice night over . when i turned it on, low battery sign put power in it and then nokia appeared but got stuck there and cant turn of untill battery goes dead. then i took it appart and dryed it further and cleaned with alcohol. Is it finished or what to do
Do you know what causes the phone to constantly go to camera on its own? Its been clicking to the camera on its own and it constantly starts taking picture on its own even if i try to restart or anything. Thank you very much. I just replaced original black cover with a glossy white on my L900. It was my first disassemble ever. Awesome guide !!!
we are from egypt and we are big fan of your work you help us alot ty soo much
Successfully replaced my camera & housing! - Thank you for the step by step guide.

Replaced the battery....Thanks a lot for this tutorial, now my mobile phone is like new again! :-) Was a piece of cake with this video.
Thanks mate, had to open and disassemly to clean up the camera crystal because it wastaking blurry pictures, and assembly again. Very useful video.

wow I just wanted to replace the rear housing, but it takes more steps than I thought! Thanks for the video!
Absolutely spot on! Changed my battery successfully following your excellent tutorial, Many thanks.
I just replaced my first Lumia screen. Thank you so much for the excellent video!! I'm subscribed!
you will need to replace the microphone at 7:53, find the part online and ask your local tv repair shop if they can fit it as they should have the tools and skills to replace it
You have a soothing voice, thank you for the video.
Excelente! Step by step, now i'll clean the dust inside the camera. Thank you!
I just successfully replaced my screen, thanks to you! Awesome help :)

the power button is part of the case, if you look at oem replacement cases you'll see they come with all the switches and antenna's
Ty for vid. You are very thorough, anyone can follow.
7:37 is the vibrating module, it can only be replaced with a hot air soldering iron

thank you very much .... mine had T4 Torqx screws on the 7 main chassis ones!
Nice video, but is it possible to take the digitizer screen from the lcd screen.
yes that would cause your problem, once you have disconnected and reconnected the battery it should work ok
i bought the tools for this finally. well i had fixed the digitizer as it alwas partially out the upper left corner. but was gonna cleen off the rear lense and started to take the screen off but forgot about the long pin.

Great video, pls how can i make use of rear camera lumia 900
Greetings, I wonder if there is any specific speaker for this model
This video is very educating n full of good information, thanks, please assist me with my question
I just won a lumia 900 on ebay for 70$ usd, because it had a smashed lcd. looks like the change will be a piece of cake!
what would happen if I buy the one with the metal housing, does that the process of replacing the housing or the battery on the lumia 00 more difficult?
hola excelente video..podrias hacer un video de como cambiar el vidrio y salvar el display
So, it'd be possible to go for a different color without too much troible? :)
BTW, how accessible is the battery?
I have three screws that refuse to come out. Seems like the manufacturer had the Hulk install the screws. Everyone of the screws took great strength to remove. How do you recommend to remove these screws now that the heads are stripped. thanks
Hi @LE55ONS , is the polycarbonate casing replaceable? and where to find if it is replaceable?
are all the nokia phone power button the same ? cause my button is stuck and wont let me turn on or put on hold ? what do you suggest ?
I disassembled and reassembled my Lumia 900 as per the guide. However, now my display has gone blank(black) :(

what was the reason for taking it apart?
I have a question. What kind of memory uses as Hard Drive, is it a microSD, a SSD or what kind of storage the Lumia 900 uses?
Oh, I saw only now, that I commented on the wrong video :D
I meant on 920, are there any moisture indicators ?
My Lumia has the annoying vibrator rattle. Is there a way to remove the vibrator from the mainboard or is it soldered on?
I did try this initially. The corners flipped over easily, but it got hung up on the USB port. I tried to prise the end of the case away from the screen to no avail. If I pulled any harder I would have broken something.

Will u make a Video on How to dissasemble the Nokia Lumia 920?
Hi, does Lumia 920 have sensors for the liquids ?
Great videos. I have a question though...I don't see anybody doing a power socket (mini usb) replacement. I have a 900 that doesn't charge right but torqueing the cable and laying properly helps it charge. Have you ever replaced the socket? Is it just the four legs or are there other pins?
it needs soldering using a 'hot air' soldering iron, I hope to cover that type of repair in the future..
Hi I damaged my charging port on my Nokia lumia 900 how do you take out this one pieace?
-Thank You!
hi le55sons, you know if the mic if the same as the others nokia models? or i have to find a mic for lumia models?
Thank you for your excellent help!
When I changed the screen, the loud speaker did not work anymore. I tried to remove the loudspeaker, but it does not come off. I warmed up the phone with a hairdryer. Would the proposal for how I would get stripped out the speaker?
try and find a friend who has a multimeter to test the speaker before you try to remove it
***** The speaker was okay. Produced a sound meter when we tried. What's the problem could be?
Heikki Takkinen under the mainboard there are 2 sprung contacts that connect to the speaker, make sure they are not bent and sitting high enough to touch the speaker terminals
Heikki Takkinen any luck?
***** Thank you! there was a failure! This was the second corrected your phone instructions. The first was the Lumia 800.
Why did you take out that metal rod thingy at the beginning is that so you could take the screen off
please can someone tell how the back camera work or flash light work also cause didn't work on me just buy a lumia 900 can you tell how to do it
my nokia lumia 900 I dropped and began to pour a liquid on the screen, when I saw it, was cracked glass. What should replace and buy?
thank you very much
can you do a disassembly of a lumia 920 ??

I don't see any paper sensor, have you meant those speaker dust tapes ?
Very good video! Thank you for sharing this.
Спасибо, очень хорошее видео!
ok thanks . very sad. thanks for doing a fantastic job should have looked earlyer on your video. would never have opened it without your help
Hi excellent video very helpful, my daughter seems to have damaged the sim contacts on the board trying to put in a new sim the phone cant see the sim .Do you think that they are repairable thanks in advance for any advice given.

***** bạn có thể bung lumia 625 được không
Thanks. Maybe you can use it when you take apart the 920 :).
Im done with everything, but I found that a fallen small ring was left behind. it is silver in color, very small and thin, with a diameter as big as the front camera's size, phone works without it. do i need to put it back in?
This helped me a lot, thanks
could i replace the whole cover of the lumia?
Great tutorial! I have one question thou, my Lumia 900 wont play any sounds at all. And when I try to call to someone (with or without handsfree device) they can hear me but I can´t. I replaced earpiece but still no luck. Does it matter how tight those little screws are?
can you hear them when the phone is on loudspeaker ?
***** No I can´t
Marko Punkero The screws wouldn't stop it working, does the loudspeaker work when playing music?
***** Nothing, no sound, no music, no voice, no notifications etc. It´s like completely mute phone even thou volume is 30/30.
Marko Punkero sounds like water damage or a mainboard fault. If you've tried reflashing the firmware there's not much else you can do
try disconnecting the battery for 1 minute and it might be ok
ya lo hice varias veces y nada. perdon por la insistencia de mis preguntas pero hay sido muy amable, gracias de nuevo
nahuel appe it might be the screen gone faulty, I would try another screen
ok muchas gracias
I'm waiting for it too! Thanks.
Love your Vids very informational. Thanks and keep it up. I subscribed.
I did exactly the same thing! Still trying to figure it out.
dear le55ons can you maybe help me. dropped my nokia 900 lumia in bath tub took it quikly up and tryed to turn it of but no luck then i tryed to dry it with hairdryer because it worked on other phones i dropped (stupid me) then i put it in rice night over . when i turned it on, low battery sign put power in it and then nokia appeared but got stuck there and cant turn of untill battery goes dead. then i took it appart and dryed it further and cleaned with alcohol.
