@@HopeEducationServices Salivating AT THE SOUND OF THE BELL in Pavlov's experiment was a learned behavior (conditioned response). Salivating ITSELF is an unconditioned response (a natural response/a reflex). The sight/smell of food, an unconditioned stimulus. The ringing of the bell was a neutral stimulus until Pavlov paired it with the unconditioned stimulus (smell/sight food). The sound of the bell THEN became a condition stimulus because it alone could make the dog salivate (conditioned response/learned response)
@@vankabila2Dol as I stated - no reflexes can be learned. Feel free to disagree but if you get a question on exam you will get it wrong if you call it a learned behavior
@@HopeEducationServices What is a conditioned behavior (response)? It is a LEARNED response to a previously neutral stimulus. 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿Let's keep improving ourselves.
You said that respondent behavior is caused by a consequence. It's obvious you understand the concepts very well but I think when you were speaking it may have just came out incorrectly. At least, my understanding is that it's the consequence that influences Operant behavior and the Antecedent in the environment that influences respondent behavior. The statement, "all respondent behavior is caused by a consequence is at approximately 6:05 min. during your recording. I want to thank you for your very informative, and helpful video. I could be incorrect, since I am an undergraduate, but I thought it was worth sending this message, incase I am correct. I hope you did well on your exams.
Thank you Jessica for doing these videos. I am studying for my BCBA and you are helping me so, so much!
by far the best explanation, thank you
My pleasure
I finally understand it! Hope i'll remember it for my test :D
Thank you! Still trying to wrap my mind around these two but your explanation has helped❤
❤️ so glad I could help!
2:36 Salivating at the sound of a bell is NOT a reflex. It is a LEARNED behavior (conditioned response).
Salivating is never a learned behavior. It is simply evoked by a conditioned behavior. No reflexes can be learned.

This definitely helped me grasp the difference of the two. Thank you!
my pleasure!
6:04 Operant Bx is caused by consequence to clarify*********
This was very helpful, thank you
It's my privilege :)
Still the best teacher!
Awe. Thank you so much!
Good morning,
at 6:02, you meant all operant behavior is caused by a consequence, right?
I may have mispoke but what you are saying is correct :)
Have you taken your exam yet?
yes and I passed the first try in early September.
