I would just like to clarify for everyone that the Nassau county GOP only called for his resignation AFTER they found out that his staffer lied to Kevin McCarthy's donors to get money. It wasn't Santos' lies to his constituents that mattered to them, it was the fact that Santos' conned THEM too. This is a SUUUPER important distinction that I do not see enough people acknowledging.
Who cares. Only a Trump apologist would make such distinctions of a liar like Santos. Technicality's and loopholes instead of honor are your base principles. Yes the people of that district deserve the blame for voting for another dishonest GOP candidate. The only distinction that matters is Biden was reckless Trump committed Treason. Treason only needs to be attempted not succeed to be treason. Multiple sources, many bipartisan correctly list Jan 6 as being caused in part and knowingly be Trump. Now shudup.

The state party, by the way, still is not moving very fast on this - what would you expect from the state party of Ron Lauder (actual mostly closeted gay Republican) and Richard Nixon's son in law.
the press conference showing the gop members calling for his resignation on one hand and saying, 'Oh, we should have looked harder at his resume...our bad' on the other. They knew enough that he was a bad apple yet kept him and his lies.
Lemire is an excellent journalist. He's still curious and not afraid to ask the tough questions.
As long as he stays away from windows.
What we need is journalists who dig for the tough data.
That was a great interview!!!! Mostly Seth just letting him talk, but had a good anchor at the end.

I’ve never really seen much of this guy since I’m a night owl, and his show is, in fact, on way too early. But he was delightful. Smart and great comedic timing. Excellent interview.

I'm one of a few west coasters who has watched Jonathan Lemire on Way too Early and on Morning Joe. Jonathan Lemire is so smart and funny. He was been an asset to the NBC News team. I hope you invite him back.
What I like about Jonathan lemire is his crooked smile with a twinkle in his eye. Helps make getting the bad news a little more pleasant. Takes his job seriously but in the quiet moments he sits there with that smile that feels like he has some secret joke he’s entertaining himself with. It’s refreshing.

I watch Mr. Lemire on Morning Joe and I'm always impressed with how he asks questions of their guests...polite but direct and usually on target. It was interesting getting his take on events. And oh Seth, could you please ask him has anyone bothered to investigate Santos government I.D.? How many names does he have and what is his real name?

This is some drama. Anyone who has a schedule (all of us) keep that schedule. Most of us hit "snooze" on the alarm. I'm nocturnal. My alarm goes off at 4:30 pm. I might get up or I could hit snooze anywhere up to four times. Then I'm up all night. My normal hours are 6 pm to 10 AM. "Normal" people see that as weird. But if you work at a place that's open all the time then someone needs to be there during non-standard hours.
That's me. I keep those same hours on off days because re-adusting my schedule a couple times a week is exhausting and unhealthy.

I live on somewhere around a 36 hour sleep wake cycle... lol. It's been this way since I was a kid, and usually I can get sleep generally within a couple sunrises of the last time. It was funny when I had a period of time having fun playing with amphetamines and was so surprised that people were amazed by "shadow people" when I knew growing up that they were when it was time to go to sleep basically. like "the shadows get long..." or something.
Pardon my forward nature but I do kinda thrive in counter cultures haha.

I can tell you what will be in any Merrick Garland article before it is published because it has these three qualities: It has quotes from Jamie Gorelick who shapes the coverage. It has a false portrayal of Merrick Garland as somebody who was deeply involved in prosecuting Timothy McVeigh; he was not actually involved in this, it is a lie. The actual prosecutor of the case was Joseph Hartzler. And you will see things like the use of the word “cautious” as a euphemism for “cowardly”. Which is what he is - cowardly and complicit.
