Honestly, it looks like they didn't just take inspiration from Code Vein, but it's literally "We have Code Vein at home." lmfao. Even the color pallet on the armor (white, grey, with minor red tones) is exactly the same. So far it looks very rough around the edges and I hope the Dev takes their time to listen to feedback and make it a more smooth experience. I would definitely love me some Anime Dark Souls :D
I played this game in the last 2 weeks and man, I just don't see this game becoming a great souls-like anytime soon. There are just too many things that needs fixing or ironing out for it to become decent at minimum. Parry timing just feels weird and when miss timing it, it's horrible and clunky, and the boss at the end of the demo is just too beefy relative to your power, and block ability counter is too slow.
It's definitely horrible and clunky when mis-timing a parry, but I found the window fairly generous vs most enemies. That said the block was so much more powerful, that it felt kinda like "why bother" since block is hold button, ???, profit.
