The Jason Hughes Vauxhall Vectra is one of the finest examples of a Supertouring car still out on UK circuits!
Originally built by Triple Eight Racing as a spare chassis for the 2000 BTCC season (where it never was completed), it was eventually bought and brought up to racing spec before competing in all manner of events across Europe. The car is now raced by ex BTCC driver Jason Hughes and won the 2021 CTCRC Thunder Saloon Car Championship!

Where does the 2000 Vectra rank amongst the other Supertourers for you?
First place
A4 super touring all the way for style, looks and aggression but I believe the alfas were king in the Gabriella days.

First definitely the best out of all of them
Bottom in 2000 as the Honda was much better, although it was much better than the 1999 car according to muller.
its nice to see these old race cars still be driven in anger instead of siting in some museum or a private collection!

I went to Donnington over Easter weekend to see some super tourers. I saw a Vectra in the back of a lorry but, unfortumately, that was as good as it got. There wasn't a single super tourer on track all day ☹️
The last time I saw some on track was at the Silverstone Classic in 2009 and would love to see them again!

2:15 when it comes screaming out of the rain, hopping around and barely in control with its huge front camber - that's one of the coolest things I've seen on RUclips for weeks.
My dad had two Vectras growing up but seeing one making that noise, with those enormous wheels and travelling at such a speed is goosebump territory.

my dad has a vectra supertouring (V6) which is coming up to being 27 years old (sadly, it’s sorn) and it has to be the most gorgeous car ever. seeing it at car shows and listening to it is absolutely amazing. it’s such a stunning car so it’s a shame to see it in such a bad condition (the suspension on it is completely knackered, it’s rotting away underneath, it’s extremely rusty, the wheel arches are corroded, etc). if it wasn’t for the fact that it’ll cost somewhere between £8,000-£10,000 then it would’ve been up and running almost instantly. it’s gotten to the point where he’s had to buy himself an almost 17 year old vectra vxr (V6, 2.5 litre engine) to bring to car shows since we miss taking the supertouring so much. (reg for the supertouring is P653WWP and the reg for the vxr is VN07FCG if you’re interesting in looking at them!)

Watched one of these run recently at vaux valves in the same livery but it ran a twin exhaust equal length headers and it made a spectacular noise!

Here in Brazil they are Chevrolet Vectra. We use to have them in our National Stock Car Championship in early 2000s but they used V8 engines and they were beautiful...Hope to have a Vectra one day

It ranks less than the Vectra a / cavalier .as it wasn't as good as the for mentioned. Open your eyes man the question is there for all to see .!!
Hm, I always thought it had better aero and handled better, since the suspension is fully independent unlike the older one, I guess the real world isn't based fully on the datasheets after all.
There is no way the driver of the Calsonic Skyline R32 was even trying otherwise it would have wiped the floor with the Vectra
