I think, due to recent books on 30k timeline, I grew to like more "old" lore than current 40k one. Thanks for the content, didn't know much about pre-thunder warriors and it's fascinating.
Day two of my English teacher encouragement. I know a lot of second language speakers worry about their accents. You do have a very strong one, but your pronunciation is perfect, and it doesn’t affect understanding. Also it helps you to stand out from the majority of 40K lore channels who are native English speakers.
I could definitely see a lot of pre thunder warrior super soldiers as being inherently unstable. Think about it. For most of the Dark Age of Technology humanity had the men of iron to fight for them. However, the cybernetic revolt no doubt left humanity desperate enough to create the first crude super soldiers. These would've been nothing like the Astartes or even Thunder Warriors. They would've been crude berserkers designed to be thrown en masse at the men of iron with little regard for their lives. I think the Butcher's Nails were an example of the technology typically used on these soldiers. After all, you've got a population which hasn't done any real fighting in thousands of years suddenly having to fight killer robots that can snuff out suns. No sane person would sign up for that.
There was a lot of genetic manipulation in the Age of Strife and a lot of them will be destroyed during that and Great Crusade, and many cases it was a waste to lose such knowledge, but many cases such knowledge should have never been used.
Not really, more like why waste high quality humans when you can waste natural born cannon fodder. While cloning could be used in emergency when natural birth is lacking to meet cannon fodder requirements for guard.
7:35 - It's not a flamethrower-like thing. It's liqnite, something like liquid nitrogen. The elite Nurth troopers, the Echvehnurth (sic!) used deadly sharp falxes. They could neutralize it by freezing it with nitrogen and breaking it.
I always figured all enhanced humans before were crude and unrefined...essentially the ogrins nothing more than chemical and nutrient enhanced but not fully upgraded
One of the things that really does suck for the 40k universe is the idea of standardised genetic manipulation/ engineering. Since everyone else is so much better or have so many more advantages/ opportunities, doing that on mass could've given them a chance to balance the unfortunate scale.
Can we get an origin for the armor of the Astartes? We know it was originally designed as mining armor from the DAoT, we know that is was a template that survived, but were there other armors that didn't make the cut? The armor of the Interex or the Leagues of Votann for instance.
@@TheLostPrimarch I think I saw that one, I'm talking about a video dealing specifically with space marine armor. Possibly why they chose this armor template and the advantages it provides. If that's all in there fair enough but it sounds like a more vague topic the way you've described it.
@@TheLostPrimarch Could you cover the Dark Glass and The Shariax ("Throne of Glass" a xenos artefact located in a secret cavern beneath the Death Spectres' space marine chapters homeworld of Occludus?). the setting needs to move forward, give it a nudge ;)
Nah, the dark age was the peak in like 99.9% human technology. However, all records of that time have either been destroyed or lost to time, with only a few STCs remaining in the current setting
@@Nickerdz ah gotcha. so even tho the emperor was alive then, he might not have had access to the research, so would have had to do his work on his own?
It really doesn't pay to work for the Emps, especially as anything military or for the imperium in general. Even Malcador went nuts doing all that dirt with the Emps and needed to confide in that clone of an elder who kept killing himself after listening to Malcadors secrets.
The thing about the "Uksor?" women sounds like prime material for the fem Primarch universe (do not put that in mainline 40k). Perhaps in another world, we'd have the big tiddy Primarch gf's as the mainline and anime fan art of our Primarchs.
Never ask modern writers to do women of any kind. They will do them dirty through sheer incompetence and permanently stain the very idea, just like they did with regular female characters and especially heroes.

Totally agree
You love "old lore" bro, read the story about the 'Tempestus galleries'
Yeah, I'd love more unification lore.
Can you point me in the direction of a book about the said Tempestus Galleries?

Hearing his accent over the shorts is a delight, hearing the primarchs with a twist other than Brit is cool
Thank you very much!
Great lore vid Nerd

This is a very, very interesting video brother!

Coming soon!
Hetman was also used by Poland and Polish-lituanian commonwealth
I mean ... didn't I say that?
@TheLostPrimarch you said Lithuania, but at that time Lithuania wasn't stand alone country

You know all the other xenos that are so much opportunist and have that many advantages are far , far worse than humanity ?
Another great video! Love that you explained the origin of the ranks from real earth history, very cool!
Thank you very much!

What’s next the space French? Actually no that’s horrifying 😨
Please, whatever you do, don't try to imagine the Space French capital ships. Their real pre-dreadnaught battleships are horrific looking enough.

so the golden age of technology didnt bring about the pinnacle of cloning and augmentation?

So that's why roadside psychics are always old women- gotta have nonfunctional ovaries.
Enjoyable lore. Have to wonder about the alpharius favor. Seems like a rather humane action by alpha legion. Wonder what they were really up.
We will explore that too, eventually
I thought this might be about the Chilead, remember reading about them
