Just wanted to send a thanks out to you Mark! Because of your seat I was able to purchase one for my FJ-09 a couple weeks ago!! So thanks for providing the very first bike to Corbin for a prototype!! I can't wait to get mine in and finally be able to enjoy this bike to its fullest. Awesome bike, and will be even better when my bomber leather brown seat shows up!! :) Thanks again!
Joshua Roberts You are most welcome. I felt like I owed this to the community ;) The seat is much better on longer rides. It is not perfect for me yet, but is much more solid and fitted. I hope yours works well for you.
I had a Corbin on my Valkyre for me and my wife. It was a very comfortable setup. We had the same backrest but I could move it to support the driver when she wasn’t with me. I might get one of these FJ09’s next year but the Corbin seat would need to be able to move the backrest forward for me!!
I had the Corbin seats on my Valkyre. It was very nice. My backrest would mount in the front or rear when my wife would ride with me. We could ride all day and night without any saddle soreness. Mine was a 2 piece set up. I was expensive but worth the cost!!!
I had a Corbin front and rear seat with the back rest on my 1997 Valkyre. It came with the front seat so I don't know what it cost. The rear seat and backrest were about $200.00 each. Not cheep but they were worth the price. My wife and I could ride all day and not get any saddle soreness. If she wasn't ridding the back rest could switch to the drivers seat, which I really liked!!
when the audio went bonkers, I thought that I was haunted and some my home electrical circuits gonna go off and my tv is gonna turn on by itself and some "THE RING" shit is gonna happen. i quickly went to the comments section and realized I'm perfectly sane and safe. Thank God.
Mark, thank you for the much needed information on the Corbin seat for the FJ-09. An excellent review. I'm very interested in this seat but not necessarily for me. I can handle any seat for my riding needs. However, I want my wife to be comfortable. If she is happy then I keep riding as I'm sure you understand. Any review, be it pros or cons, from someone who has spent time on the passenger seat of the Corbin on the FJ-09 would be much appreciated. Thanks Mark!
I enjoyed the video, and it was very informative. But if you care for the viewer when you get audio that bad, just throw it out. Thumbs up anyway for content quality and information, thanks.
Hey Mark, great seat, finally found a video on the Corbin comfort seats for the MT's! I'm thinking of getting an MT-07, with a Corbin Gunfighter seat. Have you ridden an Mt-07? If so, how did you find it? Was it cramped?
+ChroniX I haven't yet ridden those. I'm going to try to ride more the MT series this spring when demo days arrive. Sitting in one I can tell you they feel much lighter and smaller. I didn't feel the geometry was too tight for me. I"m average height and inseam.
HEY MARK! I JUST ORDERED ONE FOR MY FJ09. DID YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE PLASTIC PIECE THAT ALLOWS FOR SEAT HIGH ADJUSTMENT POSITION 1 AND 2 BEFORE INSTALLING THE CORBIN? THANKS.
thehexter1 I bought a corbin heated leather saddle for my Norge, it was $840. delivered. Hard as a rock! I have over 2k miles on it, it's soo firm, too firm in my opinion. The quality is excellent, the heat is wonderful. I should have bought a heated Sargeant saddle. Not as firm, and it utilizes a variable heat controller.
I've done 8-9 hours and the seat performed well. It is firm, but the shape is good. Mine is fully custom so it may not be the same for all. I can move around on it easily to change angles and pressure.
The leather worries me. I have a leather bicycle saddle and if it gets wet it is basically the end of the saddle. I'd be worried to take this out on anything but a guaranteed sunny day.
I installed a Corbin seat after I have seen your video.... I luv it... thank you for your info!

Fantastic video! I appreciate all the information and the installation detail. Thank you!

Nice video. That seat really transforms the look of the bike, looks a lot better in my humble opinion.

Me thinks I may have a chat with your mate Mr. Corbin. More good stuff in the Trenchard style, cheers.
Hello mark
Thank you for your amazing review, i have a question regards the seats
Where can i buy them ?
Thank you
www.corbin.com/yamaha/yfj09r.shtml
Finally going to part with this fine bike. Moving and just take take her. Low miles and perfect condition. Let me know if you are interested.
Nice review. Did you need to remove the plastic stock height adjuster that was in in place for the stock seat to install the Corbin seat ? Thanks
Yes, that riser is just for the stock seat.
I enjoyed the video, and it was very informative. But if you care for the viewer when you get audio that bad, just throw it out. Thumbs up anyway for content quality and information, thanks.

Thanks for the reply! Im looking forward to actually getting to ride one, to see if it's actually a comfortable ride at 6'0", 32" inseam.

Great! Yes, you will remove that plastic piece.
Just brought a MT-09 yesterday n the seat in a weak point. I would like a seat like this. The bike is great n just needs a good seat
For sure. The other thing you'll find is the peg location is not ideal. For the average inseam the pegs are too low.
thanks for a great review.
Nice seat, my lady wants me to know the price :-) and is it possible to fit the mt09 aswell?
Didn't you notice the noise obscuring what you say?
And the cost? Sounds as if it might have cost about as much as the bike! :-)
thehexter1 Check out corbin.com.
Oh, didn't know there put it in their line. Yikes though, pricy with the accessories! But looks and seems much better than the stock.

How is this corbin seat on long rides like 4-5hrs plus? thx.

+Mark Trenchard Good times!
1. How tall are you?
2. does this seat change the seat height and how much?
5'11' Seems to raise the seating position by a bit from the stock high position. Can't stand flat-footed.
Good job man ! great review !
tell me, did the backrest come stock or did you have to order it as an ad-on ?
The backrest is an extra option. You can get a basic backrest and one with a little trunk.
loving the red m8 I got the silver/blue
oh man... that audio... I really want to hear everything you have to say about this seat!!! please re-record or add subtitles
Desde colombia como hago para le silla q hermosa un contacto
?
I had OEM comfort seat and sold it cos it was sooooo uncomfy... stock is great
Nice!
+Braden Trenchard Thanks!
nice seat, might be a bit hard to slide on in twisties, but not really a bike you go low on ..
Pytte This one has a more slippery finish so I find it easy to move around on especially when moved forward a bit.
The leather worries me. I have a leather bicycle saddle and if it gets wet it is basically the end of the saddle. I'd be worried to take this out on anything but a guaranteed sunny day.
I've ridden in rain a few times and there is no sign of wear.
$ ????
He is avoiding that answer :o
I actually answered in the thread already. Mine was a unique model so not representative. Go to corbin.com/yamaha/yfj09r.shtml for current pricing.
He is avoiding the answer. Jesus how much was it? 1k$ ? 800$? Let the audience know already. What’s the secret. ??

Hi all, I'm going to sell this bike. It is in new condition, but I just need to move some cash around. Let me know if you are interested.
