I believe most larger or chorded vacuum cleaners will use an induction motor, which can generate if spun faster than the frequency that its field coils are excited at, be it excited with a grid connection or self excited with capacitors.
I opened up a vacuum cleaner from the street to get the motor. It’s laying here 😄
Nice to see a Joule Thief in action. you might want to see if after the thief there is enough to actually charge that battery pack that was in the vacuum. you would need at least a diode, if not a full bridge for battery safety.

I think this kind of motor is more suitable as DC Generator for a windwall than a computer-fan: Guess more output of electric power...

hmm, I still like the Water Powered Solar-Cell myself.!
. Design by Scotti Crautor, it uses Solar to pump the water from its reservoir to the Water Generator, the Generator lights the LEDs and powers the Circulation pump to return the spent Water back into its reservoir.

I would like to make an electric skateboard. From which old appliances can I find the motor, and or rechargeable batteries?
Electric Skateboard is such a amazing technology. I doubt you would ever have the long range the new boards have. They sold a conversion kit online. Trying to build your own things you must find parts close enough to work and that can be difficult to impossible.
I collect motors myself, im trying to find a more powerful fan for my Old automobile. Size voltage current rating. To find battery pack revive any old ones use youtube videos online use Eye protection an common sense ohh design ur battery pak around an existing charger. I own a E-bike for years it may be alot more easy to make e-bike or small scooter

Yes. Cut a wire to the resonant frequency you are aiming for. (Tuned antenna), insulate it then using a Bridge rectifier (full wave) and a decent earth attach a capacitor and watch it Ever so slowly charge. Good luck using these mill amps to do anything useful though.
