The 2023 Lecretia Seales Memorial Lecture in Law Reform was presented by Brendan Sydes.
Brendan discussed 'A long and winding journey-development of national environmental law in Australia' and focused on the EPBC Act to explore how the Australian government has committed to its fundamental overhaul, including stronger integration of Indigenous governance-an area where Australia has much to learn from New Zealand.
Brendan is a Senior Fellow (Melbourne Law Masters) at Melbourne Law School, an Australian environmental lawyer, and law reform advocate.
