California's Great America, back for park updates and renewal my pass for 2024

- We're back at California's Great America! The season is finally open! The park definitely has had some work done since the last time I visited!
Also, I updated my season pass and got to try out some new food with a season food pass. The day was a little windy, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the park.

You should have added the Drink Plan+ to your pass, it now includes ICEE and Coffee in addition to fountain drinks!!

The park looks 100% better from the last time I was there. Snoopy is my favorite. Since I was little. I even had a Snoopy lunch pail. I think I may have to get down there. Thank you for the update. This was great.

Yeah, I have been thinking about that. I’m always so busy with work and stuff so I just have to find the time to go. I only live an hour and half away. Lol.

Love seeing this park, it was the park I grew up with, and so happy with the updates & improvements they are making just makes the park feel that much better. Here’s hoping this is not only a good sign for CGA but also SFDK and other Six Flags parks!
Yeah seriously! I really hope SFDK continues to update the park. So far, it's getting there. Still so much work to do

The passes are kind of weird, since they're calendar year but if you sign up in say late 2023 they throw in 2024. I didn't have GA last year but I got 2024 + the all parks pass since we have some summer travel planned and I should be able to go to enough random parks to make it worthwhile.
Yup! I think that's what happened. I thought I had an extended pass but I guess not. The all parks pass is definitely worth it for only 109$ more
My mom was wondering if the Great America and Six Flags are worth it this year. I try to keep up with your videos as much as possible.
Oh totally worth a visit. Especially during the specialty events.
Unfortunately even the city acknowledged that the contract CF has with the developers allowed for 11 years at the max for CF to remain at Great America. I am wondering though if maybe they aren't trying to get the real estate company to purchase the park from them, which could be the reason for the refurbishments. Also to note that all additions after gold striker are compact and easily removed (ie fire fall, mass effect, rail blazer, scrambler, gliders, gr8sk8, etc). I would like to see a better owner get the park and develop it. Sad to see so much closed that should have been given tlc in the off season.
I think with all the closers, that's from being short staffed for spring break.
I'm hoping the park stays. All signs are showing CF looks like they may be around a lot longer than we think.
So cedar fair actually announced plans for expansion in 2011 that’s why goldstriker came in 2013 but that expansion talk fell through when the niners moved to Santa Clara. The company even filed suit to try stop the stadium.

Thanks for the tour, you proved just how bad this park is. First of all, if you visit during the week ,you miss out on the peanut show. And all the rides that are closed is terrible, do they discount the admission price, I don't think so.

I really don't believe that this park is going anywhere. But someone told me that about a year and a half ago, he was seeing Six Flags having a board meeting and them saying that they may close Discovery Kingdom. But I doubt that will happen either. Bc not only they haven't publicly said anything about that, but with the merge I think these parks are fine

@SFNena415 depends, does he like animals and aqariums? If so, Discovery kingdom would be perfect. If he's only into rides and water park attractions, great america.
