Peter McKinnon lol, bro we will have to meet up with you if you ever travel the states. Just got an RV and will be getting some great views for the Crew. (also, our computer is finally fixed so our vlogs are posting again) 🤗
My goodness your channel has grown so much! This is the first time I've looked at your sub count since congratulating you on twitter back in January before you hit 100k. Keep it up man!
this video just got added to my favorites. I've been to Kenya and I love the way you bring out the positive aspects of the wonderful people in this country. I'm away with hardly any internet connection but hey when a PM notification arrives it gets full priority! Are you going to be doing a video on this project?
Love how you viewed the whole process and explained it in a more deeper way, it's not just about us but about the whole community supporting each other. So genuine and so much love in this! Thanks for this great video Peter 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Dude, absolutely amazing! You have no idea how bad I want to be you. Your style is so clean and effective, but not like any other videographer I have seen... Keep it up man you're going to skyrocket in popularity if you continue this!
This was the most enjoyable 15 min of my day (so far), thank you so much. Even more than the beautiful photos and drone footage and how to videos, I just plain love it when you tell us stories.
Kenyan coffee is one of the best I just can't gat enough of it....I am really happy you enjoyed it peter....I get to drink it everyday....you should come to Kenya again and meet up with your fans.....
One of your best vlogs ever!! I really like seeing you outside of your home studio and in a natural environment. Love the B-roll footage as well. Definitely on point!!
I better felt like he was in heaven out there in that coffee field 😂. "Feel the rhythm feel the rhyme get on up it's bobsled time!!!" Cool Runnings is one of my favorite movies ever!
Just finished watching the vlog, that was pretty awesome. That country is amazing, and it's crazy how I take it for granted when I pour a cup and not think about what's behind it to make that possible. Life's not easy for me, but I feel quite privileged.
I am so proud how far you've come on this channel. Within 14 minutes of uploading there were about 1.4K views. I'm so excited to see what you'll have in the future!
This is such a great video! It's always nice to see someone in that awe moment doing something amazing and that they are passionate about, but this video really portrays that feeling and vibe so well! So inspiring, not only for the quality film making but also because it leaves you wanting to have those type of life experiences. Thank you so much for sharing!
Haha I do have a set of Oakley's with the new polarized "prizm" lenses. It definitely makes everything more vibrant and contrasty, but it's no Kodak Killer.
Listening to you talk about how we take things for granted in our cushy western world, was very similar sentiment I put across on a recent live webinar about food photography. It's so important to know where our food & drink comes from, making the whole experience even more amazing. Great vlog once again. I'm pretty hooked. Also paying close attention to your video footage and editing, so I can do so much better in my videos. Cheers!! JT
Peter, that video was freaking amazing brother. I love coffee myself and didn't really know all the stuff that went into it till now. Thank you for that. What an amazing adventure. ✌️😎
Booyaaaah !! Glad you enjoyed this and could bring a drone to film that awesome project of yours ! As always you're inspiring tons of people to get into filmmaking !
Alex Cio - Alapse Yep I've never tried it. I don't drink tea as well but I've tried tea. Same with energy drinks. I just prefer plane water, I know I'm boring
That Brown Guy Nope, you are not boring buddy but you are just more health conscious than average people. I am same as you but I think sometimes it is okay to have a sip of coffee and drinks (not talking about alcohol) and enjoy these amazing drinks....
I am sort of the same. I used to hate the taste of coffee. Never had a full energy drink, just tried them and I don't like tea. About a month ago I decided to try coffee again because I really wanted to be part of that culture for some reason, it's just a cool thing. I thought now that I'm 17, I'm more mature and I might like coffee. My opinion is that you might not like the coffee too strong as it's bitter for new drinkers like myself. I used a good amount of milk and 2 teaspoons of sugar to make it sweeter for someone who's new to it. Then you can slowly cut down on the other stuff if you want so you can enjoy coffee.
I love this because I've eaten at that cafe numerous times. Thanks Peter for making such beautiful and cool videos about the beautiful country where I live!
Man I absolutely live how you shoot and cut your videos! Feels like I'm there! Great job! Thanks for all the links to gear. I appreciate how thorough you are with sharing your passion. I shoot a lot but am incredibly lazy posting. You are inspiring me. Thanks!
Drinking coffee : nah Making coffee: eh Bathing in coffee: ok Swimming in coffee Oh yeah! Drowning yourself in coffee: Hell yeah! Causing a coffee tsunami to crush the entire city of New York to perish: I CAN DIE HAPPY NOW
Nice!! We adopted a little boy from Uganda, and we spent 6 months there. Was amazing to experience the many different but amazing things in another country.
You inspire! I just recently decided to start my own photography/videography business and your videos have been very helpful. As someone who is a lawyer by profession (or at least by education), it was tough to take the leap. That first step. Somehow, you have managed to make the transition smoother even though we haven't met. Beyond that, you have inspired me when my own imagination has failed. Thank you. - Chris from Instills
Great job Pete. Your genuine enthusiasm shines through on this. You're like a kid in a sweet shop! I know you know that you have the best "job" in the world and when you make stories like this jump out the screen at us there is only one thing to say. Thank You.
HEY PETER! ive been watching and learning from your videos and you really inspired me to put out my own content Id love to have some opinions and feedback on my videos 😀😀😀
I have exams this week but today in my short break I just had to watch your Videos. They inspire me so much, and I find it so cool that you're documenting everything. My dad grows a bit of Coffee in his garden just for a hobby and he's always super excited when the tells me about all the beans he harvested, or the coffee that he roasted in his new coffee roasting machine. ☺️
Incredible video! I like how you combine yor vlogging with cinematic shots. So enjoyable. The autofocus is sometimes a bit confusing, but thats the very only thing I can criticise. :)
So, I have been watching so many videos of your learning Premier Pro this made me cry, Back story. My wife to be who I have been with for 17 years is from Nairobi Kenya, I have heard so many stories of how she used to live in Embu from time to time to live with her Grandma who owns a serval thousand acre coffee farm in Embu! She has always described the very things you have shown us! Where were you exactly Her grandma has one of the largest coffee farms in Embu? I cant wait to go there meet her family ans experience all that you are showing us!!!!!
That reflexion you make at 5:10 about coffee's origin applies to almost every object we live with, and some have even deeper stories behind their elaboration e.g our smartphones, our food, even the story behind our window's glass and the work done by the glazier might be amazing. Thanks for the message, and sick shots as always.
Man, that was so good. I'm not even a coffee drinker, but your presentation and style make everything so watchable. Love what you do and how you inspire. You have that knack of making people feel like they actually know you. You're definitely on my list of "must buy them a beer (or coffee) one day"! Keep rocking it! :)
Discovered you and your channel literally less than a week ago and 've been binge-watching the vids from the very (yet to be polished) beginning, like about five a day, and will continue chronologically til the most recent (yet to be discovered, exciting!). And I have to say that from all of them, some I really enjoyed mainly for the aesthetic (you rock Bro), this is one the most mature, informative and "human" (don't know how to say what I mean other than with this word). I don't know yet if you did other "documentary-like" vlog after this one, but I think there is a niche here : your specific aesthetic + meaningful / informative / documentary vidéos (topics) = BINGO ! I'm a political activist and throwing style and dynamic identity to an informative video is definitely something we need to work on. As everybody else say, you're an inspiring person Pete. So that being said, hit that like button if you liked that comment, smash it if you so desire and, AND write you in an other video (maybe. Maybe not. No I will. Will I?).
Man, these videos are so inspiring to me. I spent some time working in Africa last year with a project that was based in Downtown Maputu in Mozambique. I wished had done it vlog style now. Very inspiring.
It's been 23 years but I still remember as a 7 year old spending 2 weeks living in the coffee hills outside Nairobi. Got to help with the whole operation and it was amazing.
The spikey plants are acacia fro mthe family Fabaceae (Subfamily Mimosoideae). Formerly they where placed in their own family, the Mimosaceae. Some of the fold their leafs, if you touch them.
Awesome video. I currently work for a coffee company as my day job and it's awesome to see where some of the product originates and even better to see Whole Foods giving back.
This is really an outstanding VLOG. I mean your work stands out already. This is like the best one you've done. Whatever the sauce is you found it definitively my friend. Just repeat this :)
Thanks for this! Best vlog ever .... Kenya is my home and my grandma has a coffee farm that she used to educate my dad and his brothers. Welcome back anytime

I second this. Peter's Kenyan fans meet-up.
You have an incredible ability to tell a story. Even though the video is 15mins long it is captivating. Awesome job once more, great inspiration!
Weird how viewing Kenya in someone else's eyes makes you appreciative of what we got! Great video Peter!
Amazing! Thanks for watching!!

Awesome to see a different view of Africa. Thanks for sharing bro.
Glad to see you came through with your promise of drone shots (not that I thought you wouldn't). I know you said it was hard to get drones here.
