- Sun breaks in these majestic mountains. Right outside the tent, the view is stunning; this is one of my favorite mountain locations and has been for years. A huge snowstorm, dumping 3 feet of snow and then clearing today would have been my preferred weather but the sunny skies are welcomed. A full day of work awaits with TNP mountain projects: testing of the Marlin Papoose .22, signaling demo, knife tests, and builiding a thing or two. Allie's on high alert for critters and the visiting Mountain Bluejay's stay is brief after he sees Allie. If I was trapping, I'd have to hide her for sure. First project to accomplish is a thorough gear review, hard to do when I'm with other hiking companions up here; now's the time. I lay out all my packed-in winter gear and explain the system. From the lighting to the tools to the clothes, most is explained in this reference Nutnfancy winter camping video. As a reviewer, I pack heavy to maximize each trip (at least for now). In normal circumstances without all the camera gear, extra blades, and project gear, I'd save about 20 pounds off the loadout.////////////////Music Jason Shaw
