Uplift checks are essential in the design of the basement and substructures to make sure that our project can resist the possible uplift pressure caused by the low-level groundwater table.
Thanks for your great educational video! In Shanghai China, where the groundwater level is as shallow as less than 1m. So as a rule of thumb, we use anti-uplift piles to resist the hydrostatic uplift pressure exerted by the groundwater.

2 years in practice and I just learnt something new👏🏿👏🏿
tHANKS FOR THIS VIDEO, WAS LOOKING FOR HYDROSTATIC CHECK USING SAFE ! :)

what abut spread and combined footings? shoukd we consider uplift on them?
I think its a great video with mathematical calculation shown in it. Thanks for uploading. Can we cross check it software?
Keep it up 👌
I love this video, this video give more detail information in pratical conditions. And other video have also good contenr.
Thanks yash!
yes real practical with probability and cause. 👌
in the case of high rise building i.e tall structures , the self weight is considerably high. i think it is safe??
if we have concrete piles ,shall the concrete piles quantity included in the resisting force?
We can disregard this check if we are using concrete piles already.
Please make a video on Designing of basement wall using Etabs .. please a big request from my side.pleade
Sure Engineer, we will consider that in our future videos, kindly watch out for it. cheers!
