That was great at the end. Wonderful celebration! So well earned! What a happy accomplishment. Thanks so much for bringing us along! Been following for years and years. You're GREAT!!!
Hi Kinga, I've stayed in Inuvik and Tuk... all the heated buildings/houses are built on stilts (beams) above ground because of the permafrost. The beams go way down into the frozen ground so the houses don't sink into the thawing surface. The Igloo Church is (was?) the only building directly on the ground. In Tuktoyaktuk it's very flat around there except for the Pingos that are giant ice swells.
About two weeks after you your arrival in Tuk the temp was 30°C + and the locals were melting in the unprecedented heat. Us visitors loved it the locals not so much.
WOW!!!!!!!!! you made it without too much rain or mud!!!! good timing on your part. Can you camp on the side of the road anywhere? Good video!!! safe ridin rubber down
That hotel on your right as you first started in into town was where we stayed the first night. It was about 110°F in there. All. Night. Long. 😩 or it sure felt like it anyway.
Bravo Kinga, it was a beautiful journey and it is always moving to arrive at the end of the road, where the adventure ends, but another will begin, I hope, because traveling with you is a pleasure. God bless you all! Bravo Kinga, c'était un beau voyage et c'est toujours émouvant d'arriver au bout de la route, là où se termine l'aventure, mais une autre commencera, je l'espère, car voyager avec vous est un plaisir. Que dieu vous garde !
funny sea creatures in that Artic Ocean.....great job getting to the top of the world.....have to say it......I think.....It's all down hill from there! 🤔🤔.....😁😁
Actually houses in Tuk and other northern towns are built elevated to prevent heat from the foundations melting the permafrost and allowing the building to sink into the tundra.......... which would result in the foundation shifting and cracking. In related news - most of the Arctic is actually classed as desert - with just as much rainfall as the Sahara - thus what looks like snow in the north is actually ice dust eroded from glaciers and sea ice and etc by the wind in the same way that sand and dust are eroded from rocks in the desert.
Brawo brawo brawo Kinga, lewa w górę😊

I was there for the heat wave.
$60 for camping? Last year it was free.
Wow, I had no idea there was a heat wave this summer. This camping normally costs $60 per site but sometimes no one comes to collect it.
Cool.... literally!
Congratulations on making it to the Arctic ocean! And, that was a very pretty little yellow throttle flower.
Te falta latinoamericana no le saques pasar por México estuviste cerca y no llegaste. Pero te felicito por tus logros y metas mi reina

Congratulation ❤. Wow!
Thank you for taking us to places we will never be. By the way, the houses are on stilts because of the permafrost.
Well that looked like a party at the end of the road Kinga! 👍👌

Now it all makes sense. Thank you for this info.
End of the world for a bike. Take a canoe and row on ;-) And now down south to the South Pole? Günter/Nürnberg
It's only South from here😊
@@onherbike No more snow & ice & bears ;-)
The buildings are elevated so that they don't melt the permafrost underneath and cause foundation problems
I'm surprised you don't have more subscribers, really. Maybe it's your hair? :) It's -14 and snowing there as I write this.
Wow. If this is your job touring around the world. 🐬 What do you do for vacation? Climb mountains? 😎 Or work at Academy Sports + Outdoors? 🤣 Thanks.
I sit on the couch and watch Netflix 🤭
Very cool. Thank you and Merry Christmas @@onherbike
