There are several reasons. 1, is aesthetics, which do matter; things looking better often give us a better feeling and help with mental health 2nd, is organization... by consistently having the same style of container, you can organize and keep things better and stay consistent 3rd, notice that it's for pouring, so she doesn't have to open the bottle every time she needs it 4th, it allows her to get rid of all of the bottles right away and wouldn't have to wait and be inconsistent... good for cleaning organization 5th, she can visually see everything in the bottles, thus, more likely to use it....

Also I have personally never had an egg go bad so I think most people buy the amount of eggs they will eat, afterall its pretty easy to add an extra egg to a scramble or almost any other food if you fear for their life.
