i feel like this is a very full circle moment for timothée. the first time i ever saw him on screen was in Interstellar and in an actors on actors interview he mentioned having thought that part would ‘mean more’ than it did, so to speak. despite facing setbacks in the beginning of his career, he has rocketed to stardom in a way that’s been mesmerizing to watch. it’s really special to see him reunite with nolan after having gone from someone insignificant to unforgettable on screen.
Nolan is so proud, and I love seeing that in his face, especially at the end. Timmy is also such a major admirer of the man, which I, too, love. Great pairing!

A 24 dropped the ball on this ,they did not even send a person to the weeklong tribute to Chalamet"s career,Nolan,Denis,Luca sent a tribute,Affleck,Elle,Norton,Zane Lowe all there, getting Nolan to take time out of his busy career to speak was a huge accomplishment and A24 should have had a professional there to film it..Now you know why Chalamet had to do all the promo for Marty Supreme!!
marty supreme's a good movie. basically same story as uncut gems. an overconfident new york con artist jewish schmuck down on his luck and over his head who ends up charming and offending everyone in his life until his luck runs out. Both characters in gems+ marty are scumbags but you still have sympathy, and pity for them. not sure about the 80s music in a movie set in 1952. solid gritty authentic performances from fran drescher, abel ferrara, tyler the creator, odessa azion, penn jillette, even a cameo from David mamet. Also Loved watching mr wonderful. They even included 1 of his signature lines from shark tank (being a vampire). He deserved an Oscar nomination. good editing, cinematography, production design. insane fast paced energy. i wouldnt give this movie an A+ but safdie definitely created another interesting somewhat odd somewhat unpredictable, very memorable film in a day and age when memorable original stories are very hard to come by.
