Our college age son regularly goes through the "rag" bags at a small community thrift store for those dingy torn shirts. He'll often have several at 50 cents each - because that is the cost of the entire bag - so, actually the thrift store makes more money overall. He knows how to treat them to bring them back to a wonderful condition. His degree? Art History!
I must say Kevin, out of all the resellers I watch, you are the most informative and generous Seller! You sharing your hard earned knowledge for free like this is commendable. I feel sorry for anybody that joins and pays reselling channels when they can learn a lot from you and the inter-web! God bless you and your family!! You and your family rock Kevin!
I finally hit a good one few weeks ago. Found an early 1990s pro soccer jersey made in the U.K paid 2 bucks sold for almost 200 all in within 1 minute of listing .... I under priced but still super happy. Much love and greetings from Tennessee
Wow, just like the Cabbage Patch show, this really improved my education. I already revised a ebay listing to "ringer" t shirt, I was wondering what AOP meant, I thought it was a storage code LOL Thanks Kevin and your guests for a great education! I love these types of shows
glad to hear the vintage shirts were made smaller. I have my original Led Zeplin tee shirt and concert tickets from Chicago tour 1977. I held the shirt recently and thought holy crap did it shrink that much? Great info, thank you all.
Since I’ve watched this video I’ve been on the lookout for vintage tees, I found 5 at an estate sale, all single stitch. Within an hour of posting I’ve sold one already, a FL Robinson tag, poot explosion graphic. Thank you for all your efforts in education and making us all better resellers.
Happy Thursday Kevin 🥰🥳 Cernoch & Tim Are Truly A Wealth Of Knowledge 🙌🏽👏🏽 Love Those Fellas @Reseller Information Network ❤️ So Great To See Them With You!!! Thank You For All You Do For Us 🙏🏼💙
I always look for vintage rock concert and any form of racing shirts. I’ve sold Tupac and Smashing Pumpkins shirts in the $70 to $80 range and have found sprint car racing shirts from the 90s and got $30-$40 for them.
There’s a few local young guys in their 20’s that fly thru the t shirt sections of all the thrift stores just to find vintage t shirts of value. They’re in and out within minutes. Makes my day when I find something else or one of the vintage t shirts they didn’t get. It’s more miss than hit with vintage t’s but it’s the best when u find one. Happy hunting.
Liquid blue grateful dead is a 2000s reprint. Most likely on an anvil tag underneath the brown Liquid blue tag. Original 90s Liquid blue are printed on the white Liquid blue tag.
Great episode with a lot of great advice. It's funny how what is hot changes over time. I have several old ringer shirts, but am waiting for them to comeback into style. 90's rap has eclipsed 70's & 80's rock in terms of value...though some of that is due to supply. As for Harley, black shirts w/ Made in USA do better than white shirts or those made outside the states. As for sourcing, I haven't located a "vintage" shirt in any Goodwill in years. I don't know if many of them are even making it out onto the floor. 90% of the shirts I see in Goodwill (and most thrift shops) have print-on tags☹
u guys my dad has been collecting HD shirts for 40 years ...he has them NOS un wore in his closet ....hundreds of em ....LOL hope they aint dry rotted ....
Ugh!! Makes me regret getting rid of alllllll my T-shirts from when I was in high school. I had so many Liquid Blue tie-dyes because I was that grunge girl who wore tie-dye with a flannel shirt and Birkenstocks!! Lol
Incredibly helpful! Love all your videos but I'll be watching this one a few times to take in all the great info. One question... your guest mentioned the black dye as a factor in dry rot - does dry rot only occur in black shirts or can it occur in any shirt? Thanks!
I saw a pair of Levi overalls the other day that had me confused. Looked old AF but had a black and white Levi tag (not red and white) but a separate red tag. I didn't know.m
LOL I have my "flairs" from my youth and a lot of my shirts from the 80's ... time to dig them out and sell sell sell! I can date my shirts... by size, Medium in the 80's to 6XL in the 2020's LOL
I did this back in the late 70's and early 80's, we didn't have the internet, no telling what I had sold and neither the buyer or me didn't know what we had
Hi Kevin. I'm not into clothing but I was wondering. If you do find a dry roy T that has never been worn or washed, is there a product that can be used to slow or retard the progression of dry rot. I know that to mount for display you need to use acid free products. Love the videos.
Just wondering about yellowing on a white shirt, I passed on a cool Dale Earnhardt shirt yesterday, because the whole shirt was yellowing, and I had a fear that i could not get out. Is there anyway to get it truly white again?
I let it sit in a warm/hot water wash with bleach for an hour (not too much bleach!), while also adding Shout or a similar stain remover on the darkest yellowing, incl under the arms. Rub gently with a cloth. If it's from years of sweat, the yellowing likely won't go away, but it may help a little. White Earnhardt shirts don't sell nearly as well as black from my experience, and most from post 2001 are not great sellers, because the shirt presses went into overdrive after he passed. And of course, the larger the better. Good luck!
Hey Kevin, my wife and I have a question, do you ever buy Amazon return pallets? If so how do you feel about them as a source for goods? Ty sir! (maybe a good video idea?)
@@commonwealthflipper True, it does seem to be all over the place, so I had taken the time to research it, and the most common consensus is 25. It's all cool though, btw, been watching you for a few years now, love the vids, and keep them coming. Thanks!
Technically it's 20 for listing purposes, but I usually pass on a post 2000 shirt unless its a band tour shirt or one of special interest. Even the dreaded Gildan tags are from the early 2000's, thus considered "vintage".
@@CommonwealthPicker That's fine, like I said, platforms are one thing, I personally use the classic definition...at least I don't use antique dealers definition of 40 plus. I just personally think if a person can't drink at 20, they ain't vintage either, lol. It's cool bud. Have a good one.

Is there a place, app, or website that you know of that can help you identify time frames for a certain brand tags?

Almost exclusively with the color Black because of the black sulfur dye used in the 80s and 90s eventually becomes insoluble and highly acidic.
A few years ago I picked up a vintage Michael Jackson concert t-shirt for less than 50 cents and sold for $100. It was single stitch
Great video! I learned a lot and you answered so many questions for me as I’ve been watching you guys. I follow the podcast. 🌟✨⚡️
😲 Wow I learned a lot from these guys they are awesome 😎👍 Thanks for the video
So is his 1993 made in mexico, non-printed tag, double stitch shirt "Vintage" and that combination maybe worth picking up??

The classic definition of vintage is 25-99 years old. Vintage is NOT 20 years old. I know someone that claims vintage is 10 years plus, nope!
I’ve heard 20 and 50 but never 25. I suppose it just matters who you talk to
