Finally!!! Thank you Drone Mesh for getting out of your comfort zone (AKA building videos) and doing setup/software videos. Like I already said, you have a way to explain things that Mr Average Joe will grasp. Thanks a lot again and keep them coming. :-)
10:58 so bud I’m sorry to be bearer of bad news but it does destroy the pads when you rip them off making it never be accepting of that plug port again
If you have a power distribution board and opto ESC's you'll have a 5v out on PDC, in which case you could wire up a red and black wire to one of the + and - of the 8 channels (not the s) pin.
Just take from the 12 v battery to 5 ⎷ converter... and rest of the wires to individual esc. So you have 12 V for motors and rest of the board 5 V. And don’t need distribution board.
i am totally new to this and electronics is my weak point. Thank you for taking it slow and helping me understand how this relates to the betaflight and what each connection do.
the easy way to tell the real SP racing F3 boards from the fakes is the real one say cleanflight on them and have the cleanflight logo. The fakes say SP racing F3 V1 right above the motor signals hope this helps people know the difference.
I know this video is almost a year old. but very helpful. I have a question on the buzzer.. what are the pads on either side of the buzzer holes? I soldered my buzzer to them instead of the holes and it doesnt work.
Can I use uart1 pads for either sbus or sport telemetry, even though it is used for the usb connection? If I use uart1 for sport, would it still connect normally to betaflight?
I am using FS ct6b transmitter and FS r6b receiver when I save as pwm it changes to ppm and I am not able to fly my drone so help please it is my one year hardwork
I subscribed to your channel in the first 47 seconds of the first video I've ever seen from you! Haha "..and watch people make it super complicated when it's really not" !!!
clarence soh teak Vbat is actually for battery monitoring, it takes the full power from the battery and measures it. You can use the settings in beta flight to set the the max and min voltages so that the buzzer sounds on low voltage. To power the FC from the pdb yes you can use the 5v source but you'd plug it into any + & - points near the motor signal points, these are located where you hook up the ESC signal wires labeled 1 through 8. The square points are for signal and the rounds are positive and negative like he spoke of early in the video here 1:08

This was extremely helpful all the way to the end, where I’m still not sure, from this explanation, on how to hook a buzzer for vbat LV warning. Am I soldering a connection fron Vabt to the buzzer? Never explained. Not a complaint, as I do appreciate what is here, very helpful!
I keep trying to plug in the flight controller to my computer with the drone setup from another video, but my computer that runs windows 10, will not recognize it. Do you know what the issue is?
My board is never recognized by betaflight. Betaflight keeps closing the serial port after ten seconds, and I can never get the board connected. Please tell me if you have a fix!
Hey mate, great video. I'm a newbie to this quad building. I have wired my 4 in 1 ESC up to flight controller via 4 wires & to the signal ports 1,2,3 &4 on my flight controller. I run everything through cleanflight & everything works, transmitter, motors run etc. Have connected receiver up via PWM. The problem I have is, when I turn the transmitter on to arm, the CPU jumps to 100%, therefore cannot arm the quad. Is there something I'm missing? Any info would be much appreciated, Thanks
Does the F3-Flight-Controller support OSD of radio strength and battery, out of the box? If so, how do you wire camera and transmitter to achieve this?
@Drone Mesh This may sound like a stupid question, but Im going to build my first quad. I have a Futaba T8J with a gimbal centering kit on. Do I have to change any setting on ether the flight controller or the remoter being that the throttle automatically centers? P.S. How would I set up the quad to the arm button as the DJI CSC to arm.

yes you have to solder the boot pads then plug it in to beta flight, it will be in duf mode, just flash the new firmware for your board then undo boot pads n plug back in, good luck.
Hello. I'm a noob on this things. I want to build a drone not for racing but to do simple things such as altitude hold things, maybe add a gimbal and camera, probably a vtx and ccd camera to fly far. it should have a gps also, maybe use mission planner or similar. So my question is, are these f3 or maybe the f4 FC's good for that purpose? The F3 it must be the deluxe version or acro will do? will i use betaflight or other software? thanks in advance
Just wanted to say thanku for your explanations. Great! I learnt a few things. 1) Bridging + & + etc won't (from what you said) cause problems between motors. Buzzer port, voltage feature etc! I have a FS-iA6B Flysky receiver module. Should I use the UART 3 or the white port on left to hook up the receiver. I'm assuming these are different modes of communicating with the receiver. Sbus vs PPM...is that correct? If you or others could assist me and have time to explain how best to connect the FSiA6B to this board this would be seriously appreciated. Thanks again for the time taken to explain some of the features on the board. Love to see a full rundown of ways of setting up various receivers to this FCtrl. Awesome work thanks again for the video.
Great video and easy to understand. I do have a question though, where does the input (power from the pdb) go to? Is that what the VBAT terminal is for?

im making my own receiver with an Arduino and an NRF24L01 radio module, this is ppm right? so then i should leave the receiver mode on PPM RX input right?

The bottom 3 pins on your receiver have s.bus
Left > Signal -> goes to UART3 RX like in the video

Right > ground -> goes to - on UART3
