Yes Kahawai still running I could see a black patch of them as I headed across the islands just above the mouth. Only had a couple of chases and bites 😢 maybe the seal 🦭 swimming around me was spooking them or maybe cos I was only there for an hour and went home early to watch something. I try to stay away from the Kahawai as they can become a nuisance when targeting sea run trout and I just don’t fancy the taste

Only had time to watch half the video before I’m about to leave to go fishing on the Waitaki cos it was eating into my bite time 😊 The Kahawai (spelling wrong) at the Waitaki mouth are a real experience, there’s often so many that you get one every cast
