Mostly done to protect the boat tail point up punch from a bullet falling out of the die and hitting the lip of the punch. One little ding and you ruined a $150 punch. Tilting it back 30+ degrees will allow the bullet to fall free and clear the punch. Also it helps for the guys that like to insert the jacket into the point up punch first instead of those that ballance the jacket on top of the punch. You can speed up the core seating and pointing process if you do not have to catch each bullet as it's ejected from the die.
Interesting subject. I was under the impression that y’all did the in-line mini press (some even have a pressure sensor to record each seating pressure)……. Is this for big arsed hunting/extreme long range gigantic calibers? Not what I expected from a benchrest champion. Please advise Mr. Speedy 😊
THESE WERE DESIGNED FOR BULLET SWAGING, RELOADING WAS A SECONDARY CONSIDERATION. THE CORE SEATING AND POINT-UP OPERATIONS REQUIRED A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF FORCE. BIG BLUE'S COMPOUND LEVERAGE WILL GENERATE ALMOST TWICE THE RAM FORCE OF AN RCBS "ROCKCHUCKER" WITH HALF THE EFFORT. IT WOULD BE A BREEZE TO SIZE EVEN THE LARGEST OF BIG GAME OR ELR ( EXTREME LONG RANGE )CARTRIDGES. KEEP'EM SMALL BOSS!
Why am I even watching any Cortina videos when this channel exists. Exciting locals, riveting content and a handsome devil presenting all the details. Erik better pack it in. His channel is doomed.
Definitely looking forward to part 2 (deux -a la ojive) !
Keep'em coming , speedy!
Beast press. Looks nice. Can't wait for pt2.
That thing is a beast
Keep ‘em coming
That press looks good and it will be interesting to see how it goes
That press looks heavy duty!
Yep, ya gotta see more
Good editing! 😁👍🏼
Is the angled mount a benchrest thing or just personal preference? Is part 2 video out yet?
