    Great driving & way to keep whittling your times down-very impressive!
    Now then-this clutch-pack overheating business is going to be a real issue in the heat (it’s still winter, officially). Some of us will be using the car for it’s intended purpose, and the DE-types will more than likely all have the issue, come summer ( although AutoXing will not be an issue). I frequent Roebling Road, Sebring & Daytona, where summer track temps can be ~140ish-there’s no way my car will be able to avoid it.
    Toyota could find itself in a class-action suit. This is a real possibility (Google C7 Z06 track overheating that caused them to go into limp-mode). I’m surprised they didn’t address it pre-production-their test drivers are hotshoes, and MUST have produced the issue while testing. I guess we’ll see what happens... Otherwise, looks like a stable, fun little track rat. Thanks for sharing & keep up the good work!

    I heard from gryaris owners that the overheating is mainly caused by the exhaust near the rear diff/clutch packs.

      The wrap doesn't help. Someone has already tried that and the Cusco rear diff cover and it still overheated

    Sad to see these cars being put into limp mode because they couldn't figure out how to fix this issue from the Yaris.

    It's a shame that Toyota takes measurements on center diff or rear diff temps or both and doesn't provide a way to display it in the gauge cluster.

  • @DCFTW68
    @DCFTW68 7 месяцев назад

    Here in Brazil it's even worse because of ambient temperature, a guy from the channel Machina couldn't do more than 3 laps around the circuit of Interlagos before the car went into 2WD mode, and he also said the car loses power if I am not mistaken. Oh well, as someone once said for each problem there's a solution, curious to see what that's gonna be.

  • @300zxdriver
    @300zxdriver 5 месяцев назад

    I can’t believe this problem is happening… Toyota let this problem go out ? Does the Yaris have this problem also? This should be a recall.

    Sooooo. You prefer the GR or the 8th gen for a track day? The GR seems like better handling and AWD turbo fun.

    • @antdo
      @antdo  Год назад +1

      Hard to say right now. They are just both so different. The 8th Gen i had to drive it to it's limits with mods to get to the time the GR does.
      But at the same time I feel the GR is just on auto pilot with the AWD and rev match system. It's just so easy to drive.

    Just curious, does the car ride as rough as it seems in the video, or is it the camera shaking?
    How do you find the ride quality overall in the GRC, compared to other hot hatches like the Golf R, Veloster n, Focus RS Civic Type R?

    • @antdo
      @antdo  Год назад

      On bumpy roads this car is pretty rough. Much more harsh than a Type R or Golf R. I have never driven an N or RS to compare too.
