- Hell Has an Exit Episode 42 : "The Addict’s Diary." 📖 Feat. Kevin Alter
In today’s episode, we are joined by one of my close friends Kevin Alter. We quickly dive deep into the start of his addictive personality taking over his life and the accumulated bad choices he made that grew in negativity as he continued to use drugs as his means of escape from the hell he was creating.
The snowball effect is the perfect analogy for Kevin’s life due to the fact that he started with cocaine and quickly became addicted and began to watch his life grow in bad decisions that continuously got worse. Kevin’s life quickly became an avalanche of bad choices and his ability to stop the downward spiral of his life began to become seemingly impossible.
➡️ From cocaine to crack and from crack to heroin. The avalanche continues to push Kevin down the mountain of his life. His hopes and dreams of becoming the man he had always wished to be were at the top and his accumulated bad choices continued to push him farther down the mountain away from the possibility of him turning his life around.

✅ About Hell Has an Exit:
🎧 Welcome to the official RUclips Channel of Hell Has an Exit 🎧
www.hellhasane...
Our host, Bryan Alzate, was addicted to crack and OxyContin at 14. Lost and suicidal, he found his exit from hell by getting clean at 17 and getting involved in a 12-step program.
Since then, Bryan has dedicated much of his life to helping other addicts find the Exit.
➡ On this show, Bryan interviews individuals who have fought similar battles- emotionally raw, vulnerable, and uncut.
The stories we share here are very emotional, and the trials these guests have faced could have easily killed them or made them permanent prisoners to their hell, but they found a way out of hell and started on a path towards redemption.

"Everybody else I was with in that car that day is dead..." 25:28 Wow! 😢 That's truly terrifying.
Big hug to everybody battling addiction. I'm one of those lucky ones that never had to deal with stuff like this.
All these stories help with my recovery just hearing what others have gone though and I have just over a year of sobriety thank you for all your podcast ❤️

It’s shit like this that fires me up. Makes me really love doing the podcast when i hear ppl say stuff like this ❤️🔥🙏🏻
So happy I came across this on tik tok and found this channel from a fellow addict I salute you
Thank you for watching 🙏🏻❤️
I love the name of your Channel and the unnerving music that plays. This was exactly the kind of recovery and addiction podcast/channel I was looking for, great conversation and the usual insane stories of addicts who use till the wheels fall off. I spent 13 years in hard core addiction, and my drug use started in high school with daily weed smoking, dabbling with cocaine, Angel Dust/PCP, LSD, Quaaludes, and alcohol.
I was blessed/cursed with above average intelligence that caused me to feel bored with life when doing the "normal" things high school kids do. It wasn't until I got out of high school and had become a very good stock broker that I "decided" to start snorting cocaine. Social use quickly ramped up to round-the-clock use, and I was unable to quit until I literally blew out blood vessel in my nostril because it was so scabbed up from the coke and I had to keep blowing it out to try to clear it for more snorting.
So I "decided" to try rocking it up and smoking it, and it was like falling off an even higher cliff into a bottomless abyss. I smoked up a $300k a year dream job as an investment wholesaler, the house, cars, pro-level recording studio, girlfriends, you know...anything of any value. I got into slamming the coke (you missed that in your written intro) and could relate to the state it put me into and the only thing that mattered was the next slam.
I "decided to try" heroin since I'd always been curious and about half the dope fiend friends and hookers I hung out with shot black tar and it was so easy to get on Crenshaw Blvd. and Lennox. I became a serious criminal (non-violent) stealing anything of value that wasn't nailed down while dressed like an executive. Century Blvd. and LAX were gold mines for me and I became a very good con man and could raise $100 or more in an hour at the hotels, gas stations, and LAX, which also had the added bonus of stealing bags off the luggage carousels.
Got arrested dozens of times, caught a couple of felonies. In and out of eight or nine rehabs. I could not understand why I couldn't stay clean and sober no matter how hard I tried. I now know the reason was because I let my knucklehead brain and mindset convince me that I will never be able to do it because I'd be so bored with life I'd just shoot myself.
Anyway, delete this if it's too long, really just wanted to share my appreciation to you guys for sharing like you did...it was SO REAL! I could relate to nearly all of it. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much for sharing, and for watching the show. It’s messages like yours that’s keeps me driven to keep putting out more episodes. I hope you’re doing good brother
You rock it with your show and you have an awesome stage presence and charisma. You also have a way of managing the conversation so the story gets told chronologically. Those are real gifts and you're using them to the max in this role. @@HellHasanExit

Hey Kevin
Remember when you would send me your writing..
How many years ago was that ?
You see Heroin I see me ..
I remember you sent it to me right after you wrote it ?
You would message me
Telling me someone was stealing it !
I would destroy them ..
I still have the original
