Makes total sense to me. If you're not analyzing what you're doing after a drill, then you're wasting time. It all has to become subconscious. One question--do you, or can/should you, squint by partially closing your non-dominant eye at longer targets (say 25+ yards)--or is it still better to just keep both eyes open? I don't want to get into bad habits, then those will become subconscious and nearly impossible to change!
@@robepifania OK, thanks Rob! Like I said, I don't want to get into bad habits. I try every time to keep both eyes fully open, but catch myself squinting sometimes. It all has to become subconscious.
When I am looking at the IDPA target I struggled to see the A zone are you seeing the A zone or are you shooting to a place on the card board target you know from experience will be A zone
Great question! I'm looking for the LETTER A if possible (the -0 on the target for you in the center of the circle). The more specific we are trying to look, the better our results typically are!

Great question Doc!
I personally keep both eyes wide open and focused on as small a spot on target as I can, whether shooting irons or optics 😁

@@docgsreloading7985 Absolutely! Sorry RUclips doesn't allow me to see replies in my comments haha
Great advice, I definitely need to incorporate this into my dry fire reps.
It helps a ton with not just doing reps for reps sake, and helps with being intentional about it! Thanks for watching :)
@@robepifania for sure. Your advice and technical wisdom in your videos has helped me a lot as a competitive shooter. Thanks a million.

So, I'm gonna apply this to dry fire with my PCC next week.
