I bought this car a month ago and I really like it. I did 0-60 in 6.2 seconds. I know it's no HEMI or Hellcat but it is the car I can afford in Michigan. It snowed here this week and it was fun hitting the gas in the turns with control. I averaged 27 mpg when out of "sport" mode (20% city, 80% Hwy). It sound ok when you hit the gas. Bottom line for me is it's MY Challenger.
I live in NY and the winter was brutal this year, a snowstorm every week. I'm seriously considering this car, combination of the aesthetic I like with the functionality I actually need.
One thing many fail to realize is that back when the original challenger, mustang, camaro, etc came out they not only had v8's but also inline 6's which made far less power and got less mileage than the new v6's do so there's truly nothing wrong with a v6 in any of these cars.
GT = Granturismo, which means a road car meant to be driven in all types of weather.. I think this qualifies. You want this in Muscle Car from, buy an R/T, Scat Pak or a Hell Cat. And it's a 2 or 3 season car at best...
I bought a 2018 GT. Blacktop. I average 28.5 MPG on a daily commute of 140 miles. The only time it "scared me" was when I saw red / blue, stomped the brakes, and THEN realized I was on ice.....is what it is. I love it for the "plant" on the road, the ride comfort, the awesome 506 watt Alpine, the Alacantra Leather (upcharge since 2019) heated / ventilated seats, and the additional 'free options" like performance gauges / sport pack etc. This car has been great. Especially the previous "red / blue" incident....it was taking care of ME without me even realizing it. And no - I'm not a millennial- I drove in Michigan winters with 2wd (RWD) for MANY (20) years - it just took away some of the Michigan winter conditions without any undue strain on my driving ability. I'm 56 and don't want to be sideways......all in all- this car is great!
First, this is a Grand Touring option for the pony car class. Second, the muscle car references and hate because of the lack of a mighty V8 are practically hilarious. How many muscle cars through the years produced less than 300HP? Answer....LOTS..... The Camaro has had SS and Z models producing sub 300 HP numbers from the 1st generation on. Hell the early 80s Z28 came standard with a whopping 145HP and yes that was a 5.0l V8....lol. The list goes on and on. Sure, today's V8s are powerful, but so is the 3.6l that's in this. It performs as it should, comfortably without the risk of wrapping it around a tree or pole everytime you punch it.
Love the Hellcat, of course, and any other V8-equipped Challenger, but honestly 300 hp in the V6 would be just fine with me. AWD here in our Chicago winters would be fantastic. The only thing I'd cringe a bit about the Challenger GT with V6 and hood scoops and vivid paint is that so many other people would expect so much more from a Challenger, just based on its reputation, that it would suck to say "Um, mine only has the V6." lol
I love how all the people who are commenting about that its "slow" have no actual clue of how quick of a car it is, or they must be ferrari owners. In real life driving, this is a very quick car. With our speed limits and police on every corner, why would you need even more power?
Genadiy Ivken why do you need more money in life? Why do we eat 50$ steaks? People will always want more, and a v6 isn't going to it it for most. If it was turbocharged or supercharged I can see that but right now dodge is selling a awd Impala. Shit I bet my brothers v6 impala would beat it
This entire comment section is "pretty sure my car can beat this" nonsense. Personally I don't give two shits about those comments. If I wanted to hear about that car, I would've looked it up. I'm here to hear about the Challenger. I have questions, Nathan. While driving this car, did you like it? Would you recommend it for someone looking to get something sporty that still handles bad weather well? How's the visibility? Are the blind spots a killer? Can you change lanes in it on a crowded highway with ease, or is it hard to spot traffic coming up from the back right side? These are things that I want to know as someone looking into this car. It really is a beautiful car, and I'd hate to smack it up because I couldn't see the guy in the next lane
Sorry...I'm late to this party, I know. But I just gotta point out something here: Notice the reviewer is doing his review in Colorado. Altitude---and the accompanying decrease in oxygen content---plays a real factor here. Boulder is about parallel with Denver in terms of altitude, maybe a little higher because it's right up against the Front Range. This means that an engine making 305 hp at sea level---is not making that much up here. (For reference, Denver sits at 5280 feet. Boulder's probably up around 6000' or more.)
I have 2018 Challenger GT. The passenger and driver side windows are nice and large, increasing visibility in that aspect. The front windshield is pretty tight in height, but, I imagine its a sports car thing. I find myself rarely using the sun visor and I drive toward sunset almost every day. The rear pillars that hold the roof, block a good amount of visibility, but I have gotten used to it. Since the rear end with spoiler is fairly high up, I don't get blinded by the headlights of cars behind me. I have the "Driver convenience group" package, which adds a bind spot detection system. If you are driving, the system has arrows on the mirrors that will light up when someone is in your blind spot. When in reverse, the vehicle will yell at you if there is movement behind you, or you are getting too close to something. I was puling out of my driveway and the car was able to detect an oncoming car, across the street, several houses down. Of course, I don't just rely on the blind spot system, but, its definitely a nice feature to have.
Never had a chance to drive the AWD, but I drove a RWD Challenger SXT in the snow once. It is practically the same car, with the same engine. I was surprised at how well the RWD handled in the snow, so I can confidently say that AWD would be extremely safe to drive in the snow. About the visibility... The front windshield and the windows combine to make a somewhat cockpit style setup, so the visibility is wonderful. The rear windshield is a little cramped, but the rearview mirror in the center is extremely large so it doesn't really affect visibility. The blind spots aren't really bad if your mirrors are adjusted, and I'm sure they all come with blind spot monitors. What I really loved was that the central rearview mirror is so broad that you can usually see a broader frame in the lane behind you, so it is easier to spot vehicles that might be moving into your blind spots. Highway driving is a breeze. It handles much better than you would expect from a car this heavy. I'd suggest getting a test drive. Enterprise usually has them in their lot.
lmao except ripp is a rip off and you'll probably blow the thing. they have been delaying for so many months now its ridiculous. better off with a hemi. especially for the cost of this vs the same car with a hemi is exactly the same
Thedustyaman is right. And no you don't need to upgrade internals. I own a RIPP in my grand cherokee with a pentastar.. even with the drivetrain loss I'm still around 400 whp. The charger obviously isn't 4wd so yes it will put down around 430 to the wheels pretty reliably. The pentastars a pretty strong engine and has proven to take boost better than the v8s on stock internals. Wouldn't push anymore than 10 psi though.
v6 and awd is no longer a muscle car.....it's a daily driver. Though you can do some muffler modification and make it sound better and more like a v8 though. Personally I love it and can't wait to get one.
I don't consider the V6 to be a muscle car engine. It's basically a trim level for people who like the look of the muscle car, but don't care about performance. That's just my thoughts on that.
2022, Bought this 2017 car 2 weeks ago. Only had 37k and dude traded in to same dealership he bought from. Is IMMACULATE. Not a single scratch; So safe in bad weather. Large size scared me at 1st. Paid 29k. Hope I got a good deal; BUT I LOVE THIS CAR!
I've never understood why Chrysler hasn't offered a tweaked version of the Pentastar engine. A HP V6 could work very nicely and could enable them to offer GT packages in many of their offerings.
you said muscle cars these days can last 100,000 miles or more like that was impressive. if I had a vehicle that didnt last 100,000 miles or more I would be pissed.
You apparently haven't been driving all that long. When the original "muscle cars" hit the streets in the mid 60s their owners had a tendency to thrash them mercilessly. Consequently, the cars that weren't demolished had their engines worn out not long after the short warranty period was past.
As a fan of the Challenger in Utah, where we often have nasty winters, I really wish they had an R/T Scat Pack with AWD. The V8 Hemi is just so much more appealing. Otherwise I would have to get expensive snow tires and even then it wouldn't be as good as the AWD.
Thats cool and all but really then they should just ship the car with a free set of winter tires, since RWD with winter tires is a lot better then AWD with all-seasons which really just suck in all situations versus dedicated winter/summer tires but people would rather spends 1000's of dollars on AWD instead of taking an hour twice a year to swap tires. Use all-seasons in summer all you want but AWD does not stop your car from sliding on ice/snow, it helps you accelerate but as far actually safety its pretty useless. Far cheaper for Dodge to give every Challenger owner a set of winters then they spent developing getting this AWD system into the Challenger.
as someone who generally doesnt care about the standard car must have like manual or if its got a v8 in a "muscle car". i like the looks the challenger and if you twin turbo this motor with some wider tires. it could be a screamer, if you have the money. or dont care about gas mileage. wonder how many people car people just had a heart attack as i typed this.
I've known for a while now that the "Challenger GT" was available with AWD. Until I watched this video, however, I was assuming that "GT" meant V8. For anyone who lives in snow country, AWD makes a LOT more sense than rear-wheel-drive and, in my not-so-humble opinion, anything that can do 0-60 in 9 seconds is plenty fast enough for anyone in his right mind. For me personally, I'd rather spend my millions (that I don't have) on vehicles with more ground clearance but for people who never drive off of paved roads, the price of this puppy might be worth it based on looks alone. Comfort and a useful trunk is icing on the cake.

its a functional car but looks badass, as someone from Massachusetts this is something I thank dodge for doing, but yes it needs a little more muscle. That being said if you want something more muscle get a toy if you want the right amount of balance between function, power, and overall looks this is a great car in my opinion. They really formed the northern car here I would want to drive it in the snow myself and be able to control when the all-wheel drive comes on not have it done for me by a computer.

Great idea for sure. Challenger GT would kick the shit out of a HellCat in December in Wisconsin. Not every one wants or need's a V8. You could really use this car as a car in the real world. Even more so if you cant have a second car.
In the real world, ive driven RWD cars in snow for years and years just get winter tires Ive drive AWD with all-seasons in snow and RWD with winter tires in snow, the RWD with the proper tire feels a lot more secure, your not sliding around as much when your breaking because your car doesn't skid because its cant grip on the ice/snow, you have more control turning with the proper tire set up its not even close just get winter tires, for anyone out there stop spending money on drive train options you don't need, get a proper tire set up thats actually safer and properly grips your car in winter weather. Plus the material the tires are made with are more appropriate and grip better in cold weather, stop being lazy AWD won't do s*** when you hit your brakes in snow/ice and the shitty all-season can't grip the ground and your car is sliding right into the car or pole or whatever is in front of you.
@@timtresch4848 Real world I live in Wisconsin, I drive a mercury grand marquis. And yes you make all valid points. I have all so had many two wheel drive F150's. They are a lot of fun in the snow but all so have there limitations. And if some one wants AWD thats cool. This car would be Fun and great in snow never the less.
@@michaelmeyer1384 if your consistently going to be going through huge accumulations of feet of snow then yes you might need an AWD/4x4 capable vehicle but that vehicle is not going to be a freaking two door V6 Challenger with a front defuser with the same ground clearance as a civic. At that point yes you actually need a big boy machine like a proper off-roader or truck.
launch control on a somewhat underpowered AWD naturally aspirated V6 car?? what difference would launch control make on that car? Anyway, I'm sure it's a fine car for someone who likes the way it looks and wants an awd commuter car. But don't call it a muscle car. An average FOUR door awd V6 car is as fast or faster.
really need a RT 5.7 or higher for the challenger to be quick. the car is too heavy for the v6 to be fast. the camaro v6 on the other hand at around 3400 lbs and 30 more horsepower than this v6, is very fast for a v6. 0 to 60 in under 5.3 seconds.
james loehr I had a v6 Camaro with six speed manual and let me tell you the Challenger sxt plus v6 with 8 speed automatic tourqe flight trans is world's better. I mean night and day. In my opinion.
Funny how touchy people are about the challenger!! The challenger is not supposed to be a practical car it's for fun so who cares what the fuel mileage is!!! It's supposed to be bad ass, fun, fast!! I'm just talking about the challenger in general not just this V6 AWD.
The GT was designed to target people living in snowy areas that want a sporty car but are not secure in snow. So that's where Challenger comes in and was not intended to be a muscle car. Any vehicle absent of a V8 engine cannot qualify as a muscle car and no one knows that better than Mopar, and Mopar does V8 better than anyone period. This guy does not know what he's talking about, Challengers interior was completely redesigned in '14. >direct connection
AZ Independent SRT in motor trend it said in the early days insurance companies called any car with 300 hp a muscle car of course back then no v6 was pushing that much power I think it’s time to give some of these v6s some credit
True... The Challenger GT is more like a Audi or a Mercedes AWD, but with a Badass look. It's not really a muscle car. It's a crazy fun all days car...

Depends kn where you live/what driving conditions. If you dont really need to worry about bad weather then get a rt/rt scat. If you have to drive in bad weather go for the GT. If you just want a good v8 go for the rt. If your performance hungry, get the scat

@@timtresch4848 true. But they would never do that. Also they didnt need to develop awd for the challenger. It uses a their (e?) class frame from fca. So they just needed to add it with the challenger body style pretty much lol
a Muscle car is not definded by which wheels is driven! by 2003 Standards a SRT4 is a Muscle Car!!! "Muscle Cars" in the late 70's to early 80's had V8s with I4 Power!!! that 305hp V6 has alil less power than the 340 v8's!!!
lmao but there is a huge lack of torque in the v6, vs the v8 you're comparing to. muscle cars are all about torque over horses, and true bald eagles coming out the back!
Those sRT 4's are very quick cars and even had hidden power !! They had a few more than advertised ! I just sold a 30,000 mile red SRT 4 4 months ago,sat on the lot for 2 whole days lol that sold quick ! I should have asked more, the guy didn't even bargain with me,he just bought it on the spot ! Also, 340's had 350 hp 72/72 were down due to lower compression/different cam/heads..... No muscle cars were made in the late 70's or early 80's..Furthermore Muscle car's were actually Super Cars..term Muscle car came in in the mid 1980's..They were advertised as Super Cars ,but wasn't common for people to say that it was a Charger,Challenger,Chevelle,Torino etc..they never really said Muscle Car but were advertised as Super cars!! They under rated all the old cars due to higher insurance costs with more power.. A 340 Mopar would run high 12's in the 1/4 mile and 13.13's as tested with 3.23 gears... Remember old tests were done with 195 75 14 tires 215 70 14 and 15 inch were considered Wide tires back then and had Zero traction.. My stock 68 440 Charger RT ran 12,50's with 440 4bbl 727 3.23 gears all stock but added the widest tire in 1975/76 275 60 15's Pro Tracs !! Car was 100% stock ! My 340 Cuda ran low 13's with 3.23's.. My 440 Charger RT still had no traction past 80 feet if it had todays tire traction and todays compounds at the drag strip low 12's or high 11's for the 440 and the 340 I got it to hook very good so probably 12.90's as guys ran that with bigger carbs and headers..rest was stock ! I still have my 68 Charger RT and my 1971 340 Cuda is now a 440 6 barrel ! Road Tests of a new 440 4 bbl cuda ran high 13's low 14's with skinny 215 70 series tires with zero traction, they put a 8 inch slick that has as much traction as a new modern radial,it still spun but ran LOW 12's !!!! Stock 440 4bbl Cuda ! Brand New. Another test of a 1971 Challenger 383 2 barrel, different heads, compression, cam, crank than a 383 4bbl and a383 Magnum was higher performance than a 383 4bbl(more than 5 hp as advertised,375 was the power rating,440 4bbl were 410 - 450 hp depending on year,72-78 they were down as it was a different engine cam/crank/heads and low compression choked them out)) Anyways the brand new 2.76 axle ratio 383 2 barrel Challenger ,single exhaust skinny tire 2 barrel ran 14.6 in the 1/4 mile and mid 6 second 0-60 !!! From a 2 barrel low compression, economy 383 !!! WOW ! So you know the hp 383 4bbl was a runner high 12 to mid 13's depending on year/car ! These are not low geared cars..not 4.10's,not 3.91's or even 3.54's 3.23's and 2.76 axle ratio's.. I was lucky enough to drive them new, stock and raced them new, stock and even modified...I own a car dealer and owned them all !I even had a stock 440 TNT (magnum version dodge had a lot were not the hp 440 but still were quicker than a 5.7 hemi from 2006) The 69 Chrysler 300 440 TNT ran side by side with my new SRT 300 6.1 Hemi, awesome cars !! With modern rubber and when you don't just floor it and know how to make it go ,1/4 or less pedal pressue to get going ,ease alittle more until 20 mph then floor it and hope it has traction, thats how you had to drive old cars..Not like most think you floor the pedal to the floor, that will make tire smoke and go sideways and crash lol....
Actually the 340s came with 275 hp no matter what it actually put out can be anyone’s guess but the factory ratings were not rated from the back wheels so the gt probably has more hp the the 340 it can go a bit each way the engines weren’t rated from the back wheels or with all the accessories wich greatly affect the true ratings so rating them properly wasn’t the case but anyway they were misrepresented in many ways some for the good some in a negative way
WTF all wheel drive muscle car to be honest I thought Chevy would have started it because they can’t keep up with the 2019 Shelby gt500 and the demon but I always knew it would happen
I like Challenger, and only Hellcat because it is bad ass. If you want to buy a muscle car, why bothering with this kitty that has nothing to do with a muscle car. buy a Dodge Dart instead.
It's a good muscle car no matter what it has or doesn't have; you know why? Because the people who made the cars that you would say are real muscle cars are the ones who made these and classified them as muscle cars, good with the V6. New generation, new technology, new tastes, new business model; they must adapt somehow or get pushed out of business. If they made no sense they wouldn't sell, they wouldn't be made anymore, but they sell better and are more affordable. They also allow the V8s to be priced the way they are, otherwise they would be even more expensive and a sizable amount of the people who own them might have to pass as well. Once the sales drop the company has to stop making. People should buy what they choose while remembering that thanks to them and people like them the cars are still being made.
It's a unique entry but I think the buying segment is going to be quite small even for the Challenger. If I were really intent on getting a Challenger but didn't have money for an R/T, I'd probably get this over the basic V6. That said, I really don't like the wheels and while it has a lot of features, I'd much rather have one of the higher trims. But that's before we consider just how good the Mustang Ecoboost and Camaro V6 are. They are fantastic cars and are faster than this, mainly because they are both 500+ lbs lighter, in addition to being smaller. The the Challenger GT had shed weight instead of gaining AWD and adding weight, then I think it would be a better sell. Maybe tighten the shift times on the 8-speed, a few other trim-specific tweaks. But the Challenger is just plain old these days. If I ever see one, it's usually a Hellcat or SRT8. Rarely if ever do I see the V6 cars
The Camry V6 goes from 0 to 60 in around 6.Something seconds which is still laughable considering the Camry is a family sedan compared to this "Muscle Car"
Those Challengers are Heavy, Without the Torque of a V8 or a Power adder to the V6 they are not that quick of the line. Still take it over a Camry for the same price though.
05ls4gxp your opinion and a bad opinion at that I’m sure the minds at dodge saw an opening for this car but I guess your smarter than all the minds at dodge lol
skid126 um a2002 Jeep is probably about to fall apart my father in law had one in around your same years that car was bought brand new and in just a cpl years was turning into a turd and it wasn’t fast for a v8 lol keep dreaming are you 16 years old and just bragging about your first car? Lol
well, its my type of car. I love the way the challenger look and that's it. There is absolutely no need of HEMI for me since i'm not a drag racer. AWD is kinda necessary in WA. So why the hell not?
One thing many fail to realize is that back when the original challenger, mustang, camaro, etc came out they not only had v8's but also inline 6's which made far less power and got less mileage than the new v6's do so there's truly nothing wrong with a v6 in any of these cars.
This is a great blend of a sporty looking and performing vehicle that seats more than 2 occupants comfortably, gets decent mpg's, has a trunk area that accommodates more than a suitcase or set of golf clubs , AND can be used safely and efficiently in all types of weather and road surfaces.
You are right. I've been through your stage in life--where you think you need to wear your perceived manliness on the outside, through a vehicle, etc. When you grow up, you'll realize that doesn't get it.
When they announced this, I was definitely in the camp of "A V6 AWD is not a muscle car." Eventually, I realized this is the perfect car for me. I don't live my life a quarter mile at a time, and I live in the midwest, where we'll have summer and winter - sometimes in the same week. Do I miss the V8 rumble? Definitely. But this gets better mileage, and the AWD in winter is amazing. The trunk is ginormous. It's a fantastic highway cruiser. It's a gorgeous, timeless design. Manual transmissions are vastly overrated, especially in a daily driver, and after 15 years of DD'ing a manual I don't miss it. I've hit 6 seconds flat (according to the dash timer), which is plenty fast. Don't sleep on the GT simply because of the specs. It is damn near a perfect cruiser.
I always loved the classic, retro look of the challenger-and I wanted one for day to day use as my only car. I’m not into racing or doing burnouts either. I live in the northeast where we get snow and ice so the AWD challenger was a no brainer for me. It’s not going to win any races, but this beast got up my steep neighborhood hill in blizzard without any problems. Also a fantastic highway cruiser in the spring and summer months. A true muscle car? No. An awesome year round sports car? Absolutely!
Rocco Seals and it got discontinued due to low sales. The only people who bought them weren't even people, it was airport rental fleets and law enforcement agencies. It didn't sell enough in the market for Dodge to justify keep making the car so they axed it. Makes sense from a business standpoint. Why keep a product around if it's not going to make you money?
dodge probably put that shit car out there so we can turn away from them because of that disappointed block of plastic so when the demon is out people are amazed and get a Dodge
i think Dodge designed it to be that quiet.. i mean it's a daily driver that looks badass! as far as sound goes, that's why there's the Borla S and Atak exhaust systems. i pick mine up in 2 weeks, Frostbite w/BlkTop pkg, stripe, SXT. ☮
Why is there always people saying dumb things like get a RT... I remember in the 70s a muscle car would go 0-60 in 5.8 -6.5 you had a badass fast car. This car is a v6 and could challenge those 70s muscle cars time. Drive what you like and need, at the end if the day it's still a dodge.

Hopefully people who own this car don’t give a shite what anyone else thinks about their ride. Love the one you’re with, baby. Love the one you’re with.
I like all these people talking shit, yet they cant even afford the V6. Enjoy the car and appreciate it. Instead everyone wants to compare it to the V8. Modern day V6's have more horsepower than the older V8's. Cant afford it? Dont talk shit.
Oh? what does your Civic do?
I forgot. Try it in snow conditions. You will be in the ditch

GT = Granturismo, which means a road car meant to be driven in all types of weather.. I think this qualifies. You want this in Muscle Car from, buy an R/T, Scat Pak or a Hell Cat. And it's a 2 or 3 season car at best...
2 or 3 season car if you are an idiot. You V6 dodge guys are really trying hard to sound cool
@@M_773 🤣🤣🤣💀
@@ripshift93 do you own one? I do. It's none of those things. It's legitimately fun to drive.
Shit I bet my brothers v6 impala would beat it
Matt LongBall Who cares? Public road is not a race track.
Genadiy Ivken it is if you're not a wuss
I have the 2018 with 305 horsies. I can't even press the gas pedal on the highway without accidentally doing 80.
I own a GT, and my bro owns the scat pack. Naturally he did leave me behind, but I gave him a run for his money. It's no slouch, trust me.
Just stick a ripps supercharger to it. 450 rwd with awd would be a blast.
rwd with awd?
1999Dorito He means that's the power to wheels the kit is making.
lmao except ripp is a rip off and you'll probably blow the thing. they have been delaying for so many months now its ridiculous. better off with a hemi. especially for the cost of this vs the same car with a hemi is exactly the same
Just get the HEMI instead... no one really needs AWD unless you frequently drive in packed snow. And it makes people drive like idiots.
I drive my GT here in Germany.. ans yes, I drive faster than most of you just going to the supermarket. It's just fact.... servus!
you also get to meet more "visitors" in your control thanks to murkle.
A Cold Air Intake would add a nice Intake roar, plus a little more power!
Great review Nathan!
Imagine an AWD Hellcat Charger or Challenger…🤯
Interestingly enough this engine noise reminds me alot of the F-150s, probably because they are both V6s.
Can't wait to see someone supercharge it
as someone who generally doesnt care about the standard car must have like manual or if its got a v8 in a "muscle car". i like the looks the challenger and if you twin turbo this motor with some wider tires. it could be a screamer, if you have the money. or dont care about gas mileage. wonder how many people car people just had a heart attack as i typed this.

When they put the hellcat motor in that all wheel drive I'll call a super musclecar
its a functional car but looks badass, as someone from Massachusetts this is something I thank dodge for doing, but yes it needs a little more muscle. That being said if you want something more muscle get a toy if you want the right amount of balance between function, power, and overall looks this is a great car in my opinion. They really formed the northern car here I would want to drive it in the snow myself and be able to control when the all-wheel drive comes on not have it done for me by a computer.

I get 8.7 in my stock 2.7 charger... you messed up somewhere if it took you that long to get to 60.

That cars too heavy for a sporty V6 option. Stick to the Hemi's, I know many people would be interested in a V8 AWD option regardless of weight.
im in North of Québec and i have 1969 charger and mustang and when you cant drive your muscle car to décember to half of april so awd its Kinda cool
Hey Fast Lane Car, please don't have the audio so loud in between talking and hearing the car. I have to turn down my volume each time. Thanks!
Dodge could've at least added the 5.7 hemi
or you could just the 5.7 hemi they have for it. Its called the RT.
Jim Morales 😂😂😂
My 2016 challenger stx will do 0-60 in 6 seconds thats weird
dannygtz320 they did this 1 mole above sea level for some reason
The Charger would make much more sense to have AWD than this.
Cham Rav it already does. It's had awd for years
Yeah but I mean like the SRT/Hellcat models.
That’s not what you meant just admit you were wrong it’s been available with awd lol smh
there is an r/t awd charger last year for that was 2014 I believe they had it since like 07 or something on the charger.
Wow I got a 6 second flat 0-60 time in 35 degree weather in the GT. These guys are just hecka bad at launching it lol
in economy mode... i get there in 7 without flooring the pedal.... yea.. this guy is bad
they only made this because they had the platform for an awd V6 from the charger so it was very cheap to make this and make a few extra models
No that isn’t why. They were already gonna make this in the beginning. Why lie.
The rental I had did 0-60 6.7 with a full tank of fuel
launch control on a somewhat underpowered AWD naturally aspirated V6 car?? what difference would launch control make on that car?
I'm just talking about the challenger in general not just this V6 AWD.
my Challenger SXT V6 2016 runs 0 to 60 in 5.8 Sec stock but the all wheel run in 8.25 WTF someone explain it to me plz guys

5.8 in my GT as well.

can you review the 6.4l? so we can compare the differences?
The words "Automatic Transmission" and ESPECIALLY "V6" simply do not go with term "Muscle car"
The United States of America plenty of 60s muscle cars had auto trans
When do the yellow LED rings turn on and when do the white ones turn on?

Which one sounds worse,a V6 Challenger or a EcoBoost 2.3 Mustang?🤔
id say the four cylinder camaro
If Chrysler / Dodge is serious , why don't they offer the AWD system with all the Challenger engines, Atleast as an option ?
Not enough people buy it to justify having it as an option. The more options they have, the more it costs them.
nothing like having a Honda Odyssey showing you tail lights
justa scott if your buying a v6 awd you probably don’t care
I got a 6.2 second 0-60 with my rear wheel drive SXT Plus at sea level. :/
😒 Honda Accord V6 is quicker ?
Yes, and a lot lighter as well
I'll take a ZL1 camaro over that thing any day.
A zl one costs about 40k more. For that price I'll take the hellcat widebody
I just want a purple convertible
I got a question
Loaded GT AWD or base Scat Pack 6.4L or Loaded R/T plus?
Mike Perez v8 all the way
Depends kn where you live/what driving conditions. If you dont really need to worry about bad weather then get a rt/rt scat. If you have to drive in bad weather go for the GT. If you just want a good v8 go for the rt. If your performance hungry, get the scat

Could be a great car if it were about 500 pounds lighter and had a manual.
Muscle car, no... It can be considered a sports car though.
Concepts no a sports car doesn’t have a back seat it would be considered a grand touring car
a Muscle car is not definded by which wheels is driven! by 2003 Standards a SRT4 is a Muscle Car!!!
Brand New.
Another test of a 1971 Challenger 383 2 barrel, different heads, compression, cam, crank than a 383 4bbl and a383 Magnum was higher performance than a 383 4bbl(more than 5 hp as advertised,375 was the power rating,440 4bbl were 410 - 450 hp depending on year,72-78 they were down as it was a different engine cam/crank/heads and low compression choked them out))
Anyways the brand new 2.76 axle ratio 383 2 barrel Challenger ,single exhaust skinny tire 2 barrel ran 14.6 in the 1/4 mile and mid 6 second 0-60 !!!
Actually the 340s came with 275 hp no matter what it actually put out can be anyone’s guess but the factory ratings were not rated from the back wheels so the gt probably has more hp the the 340 it can go a bit each way the engines weren’t rated from the back wheels or with all the accessories wich greatly affect the true ratings so rating them properly wasn’t the case but anyway they were misrepresented in many ways some for the good some in a negative way
If you have to call it a cream puff it's not a muscle car lol!
WTF all wheel drive muscle car to be honest I thought Chevy would have started it because they can’t keep up with the 2019 Shelby gt500 and the demon but I always knew it would happen

Those wheels! Why?
and then Dodge will hit us up with the Demon.
8.25 not bad? My fj cruiser is faster!
Oh yeah, I weigh 145 lbs which offsets the extra 200 a little bit. ;)
I see some sad demwits!!!
I like Challenger, and only Hellcat because it is bad ass. If you want to buy a muscle car, why bothering with this kitty that has nothing to do with a muscle car. buy a Dodge Dart instead.
Great review but every muscle car need to be a V8 anyways...nice car
Well the makers think other wise.
Then again, this V6 has more HP than some of the original V8s
SurelyYewJest really? I see the sxt and gt all over where I’m at hardly ever srt8
Better than a Mitsubishi.
A 09 cobalt ss will smoke this car.
It's not a muscle car if it doesn't have a v8 😐

Sophisticated? Really?
_Suburban_ oh yes. It’s like driving a Audi with a badass look...
8:25 0-60 is horrible for a muscle car. A V-6 Camry is faster than that smh🙄
Well if u adjust it for not being a mile above see level it's 0-60 time is about 7.2
Colby Jaffy 6.5 actually
The Camry V6 goes from 0 to 60 in around 6.Something seconds which is still laughable considering the Camry is a family sedan compared to this "Muscle Car"
Camry isn't faster at high altitude, its slower...8 seconds 0-60 at high altitude !
Those Challengers are Heavy, Without the Torque of a V8 or a Power adder to the V6 they are not that quick of the line. Still take it over a Camry for the same price though.
A muscle car holds it value. No value here
05ls4gxp your opinion and a bad opinion at that I’m sure the minds at dodge saw an opening for this car but I guess your smarter than all the minds at dodge lol
EEEEEEEEE
8.25? My 18 year old truck is faster than that.
Not at high altitude your truck would run 12 seconds !
My moms Hyundai Santa Fe sport goes 0-60 faster then that.
Just2brothers but does it at a mile above sea level?
Supafly Whiteguy yes it does it has a turbo charged engine which does not get effected but altitude as much as a naturaly asperated engine.
lmao drive it then and dont talk shit. Can you even afford this car?
Pathetic...
Faux muscle car.....
that has the same times and better daily driving performance than the original muscle.
😂😂😂”IT DOSENT SOUND LIKE A MUSCLE CAR THATS NOT A MUSCLE ITS A LITTLE V6 my guy
My VW Jetta 1.8 Sport is faster! Dodge should be ashamed.
Sonny James are you sure? That’s a TINY engine and if it does go faster I’d be surprised but my 09 impala ltz would give it a race
love how my 2002 jeep grand cherokee v8 would smoke this
skid126 um a2002 Jeep is probably about to fall apart my father in law had one in around your same years that car was bought brand new and in just a cpl years was turning into a turd and it wasn’t fast for a v8 lol keep dreaming are you 16 years old and just bragging about your first car? Lol
this car sucks
well, its my type of car. I love the way the challenger look and that's it. There is absolutely no need of HEMI for me since i'm not a drag racer. AWD is kinda necessary in WA. So why the hell not?
If you want to smoke a 5.7 hemi then you can supercharge your v6
I'm pretty confident most of the viewers on this page would consider you at 50 an "old fart" too.
.......or off grass, in general.
Sounds like the description of a Camry. Except the Camry the Camry is faster. smh
I wouldn't know what a Camry's like, but apparently you do.
Its refreshing to see an intelligent review 👍
I definitely will get this as my next car! Can't wait!
As someone looking for a first car that looks sporty and gets good gas mileage, this seems like a great option for me
I always loved the classic, retro look of the challenger-and I wanted one for day to day use as my only car. Absolutely!
My dream of driving a Challenger here in Canada during the winter has just come true
Acezoi I feel you brother
they need an awd V8 charger and even a challenger
mopar man57
I agree BUT you can't fit the v8 with the huge 8speed transmission
Rocco Seals and it got discontinued due to low sales. The only people who bought them weren't even people, it was airport rental fleets and law enforcement agencies. It didn't sell enough in the market for Dodge to justify keep making the car so they axed it. Makes sense from a business standpoint. Why keep a product around if it's not going to make you money?
GameBoyKolor I liked it because im from Michigan, and you know its a good place for awd
mopar man57 they used to have that. but the sales team discontinued when they noticed the v6 awd sold more then the v8 awd
dodge probably put that shit car out there so we can turn away from them because of that disappointed block of plastic so when the demon is out people are amazed and get a Dodge
8.25? You in the Rockies? Im getting a steady 6.3 in this tank.
i think Dodge designed it to be that quiet.. i mean it's a daily driver that looks badass! as far as sound goes, that's why there's the Borla S and Atak exhaust systems. i pick mine up in 2 weeks, Frostbite w/BlkTop pkg, stripe, SXT.
☮
I've hit 5.5 0-60 in mine.....launch control.
Why is there always people saying dumb things like get a RT... I remember in the 70s a muscle car would go 0-60 in 5.8 -6.5 you had a badass fast car. This car is a v6 and could challenge those 70s muscle cars time. Drive what you like and need, at the end if the day it's still a dodge.
and it weighs half a ton more (showing that its got better utilization of power) .. and gets 10-15 mpg better fuel efficiency...
One thing many fail to realize is that back when the original challenger, mustang, camaro, etc came out they not only had v8's but also inline 6's which made far less power and got less mileage than the new v6's do so there's truly nothing wrong with a v6 in any of these cars.
Hopefully people who own this car don’t give a shite what anyone else thinks about their ride. Love the one you’re with, baby.
Love the one you’re with.
why couldn't dodge put a 283 V8 or a 260 V8 in it.
I own a 2015 sxt plus! Dope interior. The hemi's are awesome but unless your just trying to flex waste of money!!! SXT ALL DAY
I like all these people talking shit, yet they cant even afford the V6. Enjoy the car and appreciate it. Instead everyone wants to compare it to the V8. Modern day V6's have more horsepower than the older V8's. Cant afford it? Dont talk shit.
I LOVE MINE!!!!! dedicated my channel to it! its amazing! best purchase I ever made! Cant stop looking for different mods to do
The 3.6 Pentastar sounds so weezy, like the engine sounds out of breath all the time.
My wife had a 2012 300 and it sounded like a baby v8 inside the car.
jmc6000 can't go wrong with a pentastar v6.
