I'm 72 years old and I had the good fortune of been in my 20's during the disco era. We spent many a night at various discos dancing up a storm. We had so much fun back in those days.
All I can say is if I ever win the Powerball, I am gonna rent out the whole boat for one of those Disco cruises, and invite you all along for one last trip down memory lane, dancing and reliving our youth before all the artists are gone.
I don't know, I find it little bit ridiculous. Not saying it's bad but saying something is "better" doesn't make it better. What people from 1800s would say. Embrace music of every generation equally. People like the music from their times because they were younger and healthier. My advice - get yourself better.

Not so much 21st century music. Watch Rick Beato's videos about why the music of today is bland and forgettable. The main reason being the death of singer-songwriter pop. Today's pop music is extremely formulaic and written by committees.

The only difference is that today's music is much broader and huge production companies do not control 100% of the industry anymore - everybody can do music so it sounds little bit samish, which makes sense. Human hearing is very limited anyway. Finally, "good music" or "blend music" is a definition of one's taste and remember even Chopin, Satie or Mahler were hated at their time for being monotonous and forgettable. It's a curse of vanity which haunts everybody. Just enjoy and be glad that music is being produced by old people, young people or even AI. It's the experience what counts.

When the Sixers flew back home to Philly after nailing the 1983 NBA Championship, I was lucky enough to be standing by the fence at the air field with none other than Miss Patti LaBelle! She was so lovely! She brought drinks and snacks that she graciously shared with me. We were both jumping up and down excitedly when Moses Malone came walking past. Of course, he recognized Patti, so he shook my hand, as well! This was quite a bit before cell phones, so all I have of this exciting occasion are the beautiful memory that exists in my heart and mind!
I am only 25 ('96 babe) and didn't even grow up on Disco music. My Nigerian parents were both toddlers/children in the 70s however 70s disco music is fuel to my soul for some reason. I lost my husband to covid in 2022 and I stopped to listen to these songs because I'm missing him so much. The radio was on every time we were in his car going on a date or just to cruise town.

We used to go to a disco in CT called "Dial-A-Tone" and every table had a (rotary) phone on it so if someone wanted to meet you or ask you to dance, they could just call you up. It's a hilarious concept when I look back. They came up w/some doozies...I LOVE DISCO!👗☎🕺🎵

I'm 63 and when I hear these songs I'm back in high school, wearing elephant ear bell bottoms and clogs. School dances were so much fun! I lost my husband to covid in 2022 and I stopped to listen to these songs because I'm missing him so much. The radio was on every time we were in his car going on a date or just to cruise town.

We used to go to a disco in CT called "Dial-A-Tone" and every table had a (rotary) phone on it so if someone wanted to meet you or ask you to dance, they could just call you up. It's a hilarious concept when I look back. They came up w/some doozies...I LOVE DISCO!👗☎🕺🎵
