I was there, in Rome (24 years), an incredible experience, I could not fall asleep for the whole night
Yes it's Supertramp Garnett from Canada Toronto Scarborough Ontario my biggest wish to see all you guys back together again you guys are awesome thanks you got me through life grew up on Supertramp
My goodness! Roger is not only such a fantastic composer and singer but also such a special.person , so caring , so friendly! What a marvellous human being!
It's only the intro to "You started laughing", unfortunately. It's such a fantastic song. They should have never cut it off like that for the not as well written: "It's Alright".
If they were smart they would have put together a tour with the two of them playing with their separate bands and then at the end of the two shows, unite for a half set of the stuff they did together. Amazing two incredibly talented me who are both great yet combine into an explosion.
Why? They don't really like each other. Plus they were making plenty of money anyway. Well Hodgson is now. In 2000 his concert in the Olympia in Dublin was half empty. Great gig nonetheless.
Rick has a profound proficiency playing the keyboards. He is the one that desired to both push a song to its highest level and to make the audience feel special and undeserving. Oddly, listening to the many records of Jethro Tull, one would be deeply impressed with Ian Anderson's ability to pick up and play the flute. All one has to do is listen to the first minute of the Supertramp song "School," to come away with the same impression with Rick's ability. Rick is actually the one that is more like Janis Joplin than Roger. Both Janis and Rick take on a similiar uncomely appearance when they sing. However, the energy comes out more through the playing of Rick's musical instruments.
I ❤ this SLAB! ❤😊❤
As a percussionist, Steve Reid deserves an award for all that switching in the auxiliary pit.
He is also a member of smooth jazz/jazz fusion group called The Rippingtons.
such a song with the Supertramp's style

Fantastic.

I think you're right because RAI is Italian television.
Image is from Rome, April 1988.
Fantastic! Do you have more videos of this concert?
I'm uploading Madrid '88 now, song by song.
Y que pasó?
It's only the intro to "You started laughing", unfortunately. It's such a fantastic song. They should have never cut it off like that for the not as well written: "It's Alright".
When I said it's one of my preferred songs, I referred to "It's alright".
I agree. I prefer “laughing”

Rick Davies and those other geniuses in the group gave a substantial hard edge to Roger's songs that he lost upon leaving.
i love
Is there a version of this broadcast with the original audio too?

@@markzitroki854Prefiero a Rick por su voz, Rick es más jazzero y eso me gusta. Aunque ambos juntos son unos genios
What are they singing at the beginning? Is it "there is love, far away, far away"?
At the beginning they are playing "You started laughing", a Supertramp's song.
Rick has a profound proficiency playing the keyboards. He is the one that desired to both push a song to its highest level and to make the audience feel special and undeserving.
