@@missminilife I’m doing well! My semester is almost over so I needed a stress relief so your video came at the right time! I started a 144 scale version after watching yours! Can’t wait to see as you decorate it
I thought I was the only insane person that would sit cutting tiny little leaves and bits of paper....phew Im glad im not the only one 😅❤ This turned out Sooo good❤
I enjoyed watching you create the brick wall, and the wood floor! I think you are a genius! I would never have thought to peel off the paper from one side of the foam core board! Those teeny weeny ivy leaves were wonderful, too, and I was mesmerized while watching you glue each leaf into place!! "Mad Scientist mode" seems to work! Your greenhouse turned out great! Happy Craftober Miss Mini Life! ~Janet in Canada
Well done! Plus, your enthusiasm and positive nature puts a feel-good out into a world lacking in such right now. Love the glass idea and hope you can do a measure in scale video.
Jumped over from Midwinter Minis - love the way you made this and the stained glass window on their video. I have a 1:48 scale church that has been needing windows for a couple of years. Now I know how! Thankyou.
I love this little greenhouse! The witchy theme is very neat, and I like the little plants and botanical diagrams you added in the next video. I also had a thought, this would look really cool with a sort of Little Shop of Horrors aesthetic as well, and have some more creepy things, with little monster plants inside. Hmmm, if I ever make one, I think that's what I'll go with!
@@missminilife Thank you for replying. I have so many diorama ideas but I get overwhelmed at the thought of tackling these projects. Can you offer up any tips on how to get started?
Those leaves 😮 you madwoman! 😁 This is absolutely fantastic. I'm too scared to try using uv resin myself, but the results are amazing! Can't wait to watch the interior decorating now.
@@missminilife Of course! I have a small crafting channel so I know how nice a good comment is. 😊 The crafting community is so great and supportive, have to keep that up. Plus your work is totally awesome so, you know, it's well-deserved.
This is amazing! I've been sitting on some uv resin for a couple of weeks now thinking about how to make mini windows and your clay idea is perfect. Quick and dirty - no molds necessary, love it! 😄
@@MargieGeiger One of the reasons Miss Mini did the clay, is because the "glass" would be inset a little and sit more in the center of the frame, not the edge. Your method works too and you can just have the side the "glass" is flush with on the inside so it looks more normal, or it could be the look you want. My point is that there are many ways to skin that particular cat.
Things I have learned here. Peel the paper off foam board for easy foam. Glue walls laying down over pattern. (What was the surface you worked on?) Thoughts on improving. If you use a knife to lightly score the foam bricks, hit it with a heat gun it will make them seperate more. Base coat with the mortar lines color then dry brush bricks and you won't need to indivually paint mortar lines
I am new to crafting and have just started work on my first diorama. You're videos are a great inspiration and give not only practical tips but give me something to aspire to. I do have a side question unrelated to your dioramas, though. Is your cat named after Koko's kitten All Ball?
I'm gonna toss out a theory. Maybe the clay didn't stick to the test windows bc the gray clay is denser (looks like Medium Sculpey) and thicker. Resin heats as it cures so maybe the thin layer of soft green clay got warm and stuck. Choosing green was a stroke of genius though bc it does look like a mossy haze.
hmm.. I wonder what would happen if, after heating the clay when using the uv lamp against it, you out the project in the refrigerator or even freezer? would it come off in larger pieces?
@@missminilife I once saw someone use sanded or not sanded clear packaging material with uv resin on it (to give a hand made glass look) i looked up things resin shouldnt stick to (not that you didnt already do that!) and using a mold release (castin' craft for example) might be good with the oil based clay.. forms a thicker barrier I assume.. however! when you press the window frame into the clay, i bet it breaks the seal. lift it up again to brush your mold release into the grooves then replace and push to seal and try? "Resin isn’t usually cast in polymer clay molds, but it’s been suggested that raw polymer clay would work as a mold (and without a release)." maybe try junk polymer clay.. I'd still want to use a release agent maaayybee... anyway I hope I didnt talk too much! I like to make things too (mostly dolls) from scratch, watch a whole lots crafters, and hope the tips can be of use. I'm glad I stumbled upon your channel! I found it by searching 'make dirt hill diorama' and I'm a bit miffed you hadn't come up sooner. have a good day! good luck on experimenting. 💞
Nice but I don't think that wooden floors would work. Too much moisture causing rot, so I would opt for concrete or stone but most of them had dirt floors.

What tool are you using to score the lines in the floor?

The hand-cut leaves look great, I don't think punched ones would have looked anywhere near as great.
