The throw to third on Volpi's triple went into the area where the TV camera is positioned, so they gave him an extra base. An inside the park HR...becomes a Triple with a throwing Error.

The Pitching is just so solid it’s insane. The Defense is insane. The way these guys work counts is also insane. That’s what the Yanks have been missing for 15 plus years. Their only need is gonna be a arm or two for the bullpen.

It was the correct call. A base is not a sanctuary for a runner.
Despite the one run Gil was excellent and taking him out of the rotation would be a big mistake.

Wow what in the heck was that first inning? And Yankees had 6 hits and 9 walks total with 6 of them from the starter and only 2 runs. Left 11 on base this time. And Holmes could've almost blew it again.

This is nuts. If they call an infield fly rule isn't the batter automatically out whether the ball is caught or not? In this situation it was a guaranteed double play as soon as the ball was hit. Either Soto stays off the bag, the ball is caught at the bag and he is out or he goes back to the bag and is called for interference and he is out. Is there any scenario where Soto can be safe and it's not a double play?
yes - if Soto stays on the bag he's safe
@@timlewis1956 Have you ever seen a major league base runner not take a lead during a pitch? If it's a fly ball they go back to the base until it is caught or not.
@@tomearly111 exactly - if, after seeing the popup, Soto went right back to the bag and not waited until the ball came down, he would be totally safe.
@@timlewis1956 I watched the play many times. When the ball was hit Soto was looking up while walking back to the bag. When he realized the ball was going to be caught in the infield he attempted to go around the back of the fielder. He even stretched his foot to the bag rather then going straight to the bag.

The Yankee farm system babys won this game. That's special our farm system even though we traded for the Gil still farm.. are farm system winning games!!
