Bio Engineer here. The complexity of developing cancer treatments lies in the intricate nature of protein production. Proteins are notoriously challenging to produce in a targeted manner, requiring trillions of computations just to determine the correct synthesis methods. The difficulty stems from the flexibility of polypeptides, which can rotate in various ways at each amino acid, leading to countless potential shapes. To put this into perspective, consider that if DNA were converted to digital media, a diploid genome could store 1.5 GB of data. The human body, composed of 100 billion cells, contains DNA capable of encoding 2 bits per nucleotide. Consequently, one gram of dried DNA can store an astounding 455 exabytes of data (1,000,000,000,000,000,000 bytes or 1,000 petabytes). Shaping a specific protein for medical purposes, with each amino acid acting as a critical juncture in the code, is akin to taking a 1mm string from the moon's surface to the Earth's surface, letting it fall from the moon, and having it land in a way that forms the Eiffel Tower from the ground up. Achieving such computational precision requires leveraging immense amounts of trained AI reasoning and logic. This monumental advancement has the potential to revolutionize humanity at its core.
We’re living in a time where we might see cancer go from being terminal to treatable if not cured within our lifetime and if not our lifetime our children’s
Cancer is not one thing but thousands of things. A number of cancers we can cure if detected early. A number of rare cancers are highly treatable and detected fairly quickly. Other cancers are common and often by the time they are detected its to late to cure.
Very helpful, thanks for taking the time to explain. This was the information I was hoping to find to sort of tie this whole stargate thing together and understand the relevance.

Okay, let me break down this electronic health record thing. I am a twenty-year ICU nurse; let me tell you what I see in the hospitals. It's not just what a doctor or a Sloan Kettering would do. It's called "Clinical Best Practice." Always pay attention to buzzwords. The clinical Best practice is a joint venture between Jacho ( a government oversight agency for medical care and insurance companies to determine how a patient should be treated for any given condition and how money is approved for allocation based on this treatment algorithm. If a doctor fails to follow this treatment plan, he has "fallen out" and risks the hospital losing payment for this patient. In other words, insurance companies and government agencies determine how a physician should treat a patient and take the actual decision-making away from the doctor. I saw this up close during COVID with sepsis treatment plans. (Sepsis is a profound infectious disease response by the body, which can be fatal.) If, like with Sepsis, you meet as a patient-specific marker. Elevated Heart rate (over 100) increased respirations, elevated temperature, high white blood cell count, hypotension (abnormally low blood pressure), and decreased urine output (related to the hypotension). If a patient comes into the hospital and meets any of these 3 markers, they are coded for severe Sepsis. They must then follow a prescribed treatment plan, which is reportable to Jacho and CMS (Centers for Medicare- Medicaid Studies), failure to follow the treatment plan can result in denial of benefits. But what if your patient meets 3 of the markers but is not in an infectious process, such as trauma from a motor vehicle accident or burns related to a fire? Both can and will meet the markers. You must still treat the patient as if they had a significant infectious process, what's more, you have a limited amount of time to do so, which can be detrimental in severe trauma cases, for example. Because you are focusing on an arbitrary treatment plan and not on what is wrong with the patient. I know this was long-winded, but they are determining the physician's response to patient markers rather than allowing a doctor to doctor. Yes, collaboration is important in medicine, but this is not collaboration. Watch how they dress things up to make them more palatable for the rest of us.
yep it's a disaster and has led to an astronomical amount of wasted time that doctors could be spending on patients. Nurses typically get the even shittier end of the stick as workload doesn't scale linearly with beds full. It's a miracle the US healthcare system hasn't fully collapsed yet, it's run solely off burn-out and stress at this point.
Ooo yikes.. that doesn’t sound good. It reminds me of say, if someone is tired.. the data base says ‘ amputate’ and you can’t go against it.. vs.. a doctor going.. “ did you stay up all night playing games? Get sleep Yes.. 100%.. this is a problem.. and mRNA. I’m sorry thats a big big red flag for me.. it’s not ready..
Exhausting just to read all that, no wonder that America pays so much more in healthcare admin costs than anywhere else(sometimes as much as 10x per capita of peer nations).
There a difference between not realizing, hating and simply not caring. I'm personally in camp 3, mostly because none of this is actually AI. And it's not even close.
But also. Being able to detect cancer at the earliest point. Means it's more likely to be treated and stay gone. Speaking from personal experience. By luck I was tested and found to have cancer before it was even present in the blood. Tumor on left femur caused an irritation of the lymphoid on the left side of my groin. Was lucky that it formed on a bone and not in a joint as Osteosarcoma can often do. Even got to keep the leg.
Early cancer diagnosis isnt always good. A decent % of cancer wont kill you before you would normally die. The treatment however will ruin the life you have left. Important to quantify the cost benefit of treatment.
I’m not a doctor but I think a couple things keep trump looking young: no alcohol and constant adrenaline/dopamine from keeping to his goals constantly. Mostly genetic though of course.
That’s what entrepreneurship and the American dream is about. Try, fail, learn, try again, fail, learn, and try more till you strike gold. The negative Nancy’s just fixate on the failures and never make progress or learn anything
The theory of the technology has been around since I was at university 8 years ago. Cancer cells growing constantly causes them to release a protein that and be given a flourescent tag. The more specific growth proteins express the brighter the fluorescence. They can then compare those from a blood sample to biopsies and do PCR as well as something called southern blots and SDS-pages to compare RNA expression rates to protein expression rates. They can compare the genetics of multiple tumors and growth rates of tumors and use large data analysis using clustering methods to determine the exact way in which each tumor individually evolved and do targeted treatments based on each tumors mutations. AI should be able to take in the hundreds of thousands of genetic tests and esentially come up with aggregate estimates on mutation rates which should allow protein researchers to have an easier time figuring out how each mutation relates to the other. Mutations are only semi-random and the starting mutations on each person's genes change how tumors evolve. However I am not sure how RNA vaccines are used to stop this. It's easy to design RNA vaccines around genes foreign to the body. My only guess is they try to attach some foreign genes to the mutated gene for the RNA vaccine and try to trick the body into targeting cells expressing mutated proteins but that would only have very specific applications to very specific kinds of mutations. The mutated proteins or RNA would have to have a charged peptide change/ heavy genetic modification to the RNA substantial enough to change the structural configuration of the protein or RNA sequence and wouldn't be applicable to all tumors unless there is some highly targeted modification that could be made to the vaccine

Me to, thought about hexgates from Arcane.
Get sleep

Man, if this cancer stuff is true, what an amazing step for all of humanity.
Very exciting!
That and that they were discovering how to potentially regrow bone.
AI will eliminate cancer by eliminating humanity.
