Remember leading this 20+ years ago. Was in July & humid so it added a bit of difficulty. A long pitch to a pine tree if I remember correctly.

There are lots of great, moderate climbs at the Gunks, but I think Something Interesting is my favorite. It is quite sustained for the grade, but you can sew it up!

thanks for picking up that trash up there. likely an accident that it was there to begin with, but still good job on keeping it clean

You should get a GoPro session, you'll be suprised at how well they handle! And you'll reduce weight when you climb!

Little factoid. I started monetizing the channel 5 years ago with the intent that it could pay for the cameras that are used to film it. In all that time, it has yet earn enough money to buy a brand new Go-Pro (though it's pretty close right now). Doesn't help that I do the bare minimum on monetization but I hate pop up ads.
This video was also shot on my old Go-pro. I've since bought another and I'm looking into upgrading because your right, the new stuff does look pretty sweet.

Gunks climbers no like vertical cracks nor passive gear. 9 leader on a 7?
    Smooth enough. ;)

In the late 60s we climbed all of these with no cams and no grippy rubber. Think about it. Required greater technique

I am with you. I think its great all the new gear and especially the climbing gyms. I am in my 60s and stopped climbing years ago. I plan on climbing in the gym as soon as this pandemic is over and who knows maybe back to the Gonks I go. One thing I am not a fan of is what they call sport climbing. I have no issue with bolts here and there on a long climb but bolting routs that could be top roped is no in my book. I think its an extension of gym climbing or something. Either way its all good.

He know's how to place nuts, he just does it with cams for some reason. XD

From the description: "From the days when I was still rocking Muria's, videos were 30 FPS and according the the internet, I was incapable of setting solid pro." I'm assuming this was a long time ago. If you watch his recent videos he definitely knows how to place nuts.

Your long long long slings continue to confuse me. Cut friction but 3’ 4’ slings? No sense
