Hi, Robert. I greatly appreciate these lessons. I made my first kilt out of flannel plaid material with some degree of success following your previous videos and now with these start to finish series I feel more confident that I will know a whole lot more, so I can do much better on my next practice piece. These videos are becoming invaluable to me, so thank you very much for sharing your wealth of kilt making knowledge.
Hi Robert, is heavy canvas across the apron just attached to the tartan at the waistband and ends? Or is there some attachment of the heavy canvas when the liner is installed?
the canvas is attached (anchored?) at the ends of each apron, and attached to the centre-back 'fell' with a series of parallel herringbone stitches. I/think/ that I've posted a video on that.
What an extraordinary demonstration of skill and care.
