@@ingridblohm-hyde805 • The horses tails are not docked...some are traditionally braided with ribbons and doubled up so that they don't get them caught in farm machinery (Shires were originally bred to pull ploughs etc), and 2) The show judges in a can see the musculature of the animal's rear end. The tails which are shorter are clipped to look neat. Tail docking of horses has never been a thing in the UK, or anywhere else as far as I'm aware.
I watched the showing of Belgian horses on youtube and found this venue and these handlers to be much more respectful of the horses. Lovely to watch and beautiful horses!
This has been my all time favorite breed of horse since I was 8...back in the day when you had to do research in books...thank you for sharing this beautiful video!!! ❤
@@SHIREANDCARRIAGEHORSESOfficial Best personalities and most all are sweet gentle giants. We have two 7 years old Shire Horse mares and there's very little that they won't do. They've always done anything that we've asked of them and they do it very willingly. Both are also very protective of their riders as well.
Hahaha same! They were slow of course but nothing stopped them- they keep so much momentum- rip any O'Driscoll that stands in front of my sprinting shire horse.
I was so scared that the entire tail would be gone- I'm so glad it's only the hairs that has been cut short and not the entire tailbone! Beautiful Shire you've got there ^^
Those are beautiful strong beasts and they say they are gentle giants I wish I had the money to own one but with the costs of the pen and food and vet bills.
wow, what a beautiful breed of horses...my god....How do y'all get the hair so shiny on the horse??? If I had a farm, these would be one of the horses, I would own. The other being the dutch draft.
I think tail docking is a necessary evil, especially if the horse in question is used for driving. If I remember correctly, it's so that the tail doesn't get torn off in the equipment. Of course, you may correct me, and I will respect your opinion, but don't start fights.
Does hair dye not work on horses or something? Why aren't there any neon green ones with ghost flames or racing stripes? I mean, they're decent looking horses, I guess, but a nice paint job would really put them over the top!
I love the formality of the show. Everyone is finely dressed to offset the beautiful horses.
Yes I know I'm pretty and have tail ribbons to die for!!
God has given us these wonderful animals to love and to respect, what a beautiful gift. Let us cherish them as they deserve it.❤️❤️❤️
and i am crying form all the beauty here!
So powerful and majestic, yet they are such gentle giants. Gorgeous on all accounts.
A shire with a long tail is perfection
yep
Absolutely Walter. Docking a horses tail is such a barbarian practice and it is sad that nowadays some people still do it.

@Krishna Daruka that's what the long hair above their feet is called, feathers.
I think I love these gentleman showing the horses as much as I love the horses! 🥰
Aren't they just lovely.

The Shire is a truly magnificent & graceful horse ❤️
Just checking a full tail not docked but plaited I hope. My father could do all these plaits and my hair too. Best hair dresser ever. Beautiful horses
Louise Jane yes I was hoping that what I saw so happy it is. Thanks
Stunning horses! They are obviously well loved and tended to.
Beautiful horses. Everyone did a good job with them.

Same!!!!!

Beautiful my favourite
Such big beautiful animals.
Watching shire horses with pint in hand? Perfect
Really superb and giant 😍
Beautiful 💖
awesome beast
It's great to see that some people have the sense not to dock those beautiful animal tails!
Illegal for over 70 years. Instant disqualification from show.
@@alangknowles I'm afraid in America it's only illegal in 10 States
I would love to bring the international shire to Tennessee, one year.

Thank you! George is really beautiful Shire horse.
Docking tails is illegal in UK.
Beautiful horses 👍✳️👍✳️👍✳️

Wow wt beautiful horses
I say let those tails flow in the wind.
Thank you.
And just think ! God created these for us. Can you even imagine what it will be like in Haven “
Shores are my favourite horses
Coasts*
It’s my favourite part to see those men run in their little suit beside a giant horse makes them look teeny tiny ehe
WOW!!!!!
I was on the interstate a few months ago and I saw the Anheuser Bush Clydesdales trailer, there beautiful horses

❤❤❤
wow pretty
I really do wonder how large these horses are in real life
0:38 Laurel & Hardy ?
A shire horse was like a bus for the hobbits
😂
Shires are down scaled version of God
If you don't mind me asking, how long does it take to club his tail up like that? The braids and decoration. :)
About half an hour to plait up a full tail
@@SHIREANDCARRIAGEHORSESOfficial *whistles* That's a lot of hair... XD
Are schweiftasche allowed, or does the braid have to be kept clean?
Shires have beautiful long thick tails; why they dont leave them loose in the shows makes no sense to me.

Tails are not docked. The tail itself is not long but the hair is, and it can be clipped short for neatness, or braided, doubled up, and tied.
@@monicawarner4091 Alright, thank you for the info
@@Luna-ej4mi • You're welcome. 🙂
How much can a horse like this cost?
It’s the cost to keep them, not so much the cost to buy!
how do they make their feathers so white ?
Any animal shampoo, then dry with sawdust (wood flour) and chalk powder just before taking them into the show ring

So if these horses weigh 2,000 pounds and run up to 25mph, then getting hit by one is like getting hit by a Toyota Tacoma at 15mph 💀💀💀💀
biggest weight in there plz ?............
You know what time is? is time to reinstall Skyrim.
So this is what millionaires do for fun
We wish🤣
Set them free.
you should watch think like a horse and learn how much bits hurt horses. All you people make money on these shows.
gentle giants 🐎
Yes kkk
I have a mini version of these!!!! (She is a cross breed with a shire, Throughbred and a welsh)
