Hey Max, you guys really should play the Game Boy Advance Castlevania games. Those games are great especially Aria of Sorrow. If you have a Wii U, you can download them from the virtual console and enjoy them on the big TV. Download all 3 of them along with a few other GBA games. -Circle of the Moon -Harmony of Dissonance -Aria of Sorrow Other GBA games to download and play: -Metroid Fusion -Metroid Zero Mission -Golden Sun -Pac-Man Collection -Mario Kart Super Circuit -Fire Emblem -Kirby Nightmare In Dreamland -Super Mario Advance 4
Together with Super Metroid (another one of the "best games ever made" crew) it defined an entire genre of platformers. It trully is one of the best games ever made.
One of the best games of all time IMO. Certainly one of top ranking Castlevania games. Awesome atmosphere, music, spritework, gameplay. Such a pity Konami has flushed their good will and common sense down the toilet in place of whoring out their IPs to pachinko machines.
PS1 Memory Card Solution: look up a Dex Drive. You can back up PS1 saves to PC, but you can also download saves as well. I got one back in the day because my 15-page card corrupted.
I got a English rom of Tobal 2 online , me and my brother were gassed off the first one as kids, my favourite part was the quest mode although it was really basic. The 2nd one has really fleshed this part out although its grindy and it's very easy to get juggle combod to death by dungeon enemies. It's kinda like Ergiez , u can find it online pretty easy

I had a lot of those demo disks and some had multiple savefiles of games that you can put in your memory card. Found one FFVII save file with only the weapon fights remaining.
Funnily enough, I never played SOTN, until a few years ago. Beat it...and even got that busted sword Crissogrim (Probably butchered the spelling of it)....either way, never played it back when it first came out, and never even heard of it, back then. Sort of heard it around when I was a teen becoming an adult.....lol Either way, I own it now, digitally on my PS3. Yes, one of the best games EVER. (Oh, I also got it for free via Game Pass, on my xbone x)

What makes this not the best game is how broken it is balance-wise.

YO. I was LITERALLY thinking about this game today. Game was ahead of it's time. I think a remake or even remaster is long overdue

Japan got Ehrgeiz on the PSN...as well as a host of other badass games (EINHANDER for one).
The Castlevania show on Netflix is based more on Castlevania 3, not SOTN
It's based on both. Though it is *mostly* 3.
On the Sega Saturn version, Alucard has 3 HANDS. God boots are the only redeeming part of the Saturn port...that and fighting Maria.
I was so pumped when they put this on PS4. Loved to play through it again.
I respect SotN for starting metroidvania for the series, but I prefer the gba and ds entries a lot more honestly
