thanksss Pixel and Bracket!!! Got nothin to do in this pandemic home bound situation, found you on youtube and now I can practice my Illustrator skill :D
Very nice and informative. Many other videos are so fast and you cant even follow! They do something by using shortcuts and you can never learn them at the first time! You did everything slow but very easy to learn. thanks
How do you have such finesse.. and what ease are your tutorials. I try but can't stay on anyother tutorial for more than 5 mins. You make it all so easy and i have learnt so much from you. Thank you so much! Are you a self taught? Also, may i ask why didn't we use shapebuilder to make shadows in this one? thanks a ton again! please keep bringing more tutorials.
Really good tutorial. Very informative and easy to grasp. It was something i had doubts about when working with illustrator. Thanks for clearing things up
i had to multiply to 0.02 , weird. And i had the same config as you. Also my shadow wasnt working, but there was this thing in the opacity settings called Knockout Group, so i unchecked that and it worked out fine, thanks a lot for the tutorial dude, amazing.
+Lil Kiwi once you learn the techniques you can really start kicking butt in this style. I just released a new video today in the same style that shows you how to make a birthday cake (it's my birthday haha). Check it out if you liked this one and thanks for watching, I really appreciate it!
Excellent tutorial! It's the first time I've used illustrator and I couldn't sort out how to do certain things- you explained them perfectly so I could do what I was in my project! Thanks a million!
You’re so welcome! I’ve actually got a FREE course over on Skillshare I think would be really helpful to you if you’re new. Just takes an email to sign up! Here’s the link: skl.sh/2z0MViZ Let me know if you ever have any questions!
Thank you sooo much for this tutorial!.. although I didn't make the tree, the information here comes in handy in many ways, your efforts are much appreciated!
I kind of just got lost and confused in the triangle parts for the branches of the tree, but i decided to just put a line in the middle and erase the half part of it and polished off the center part to make it look seamless. Overall, my first tutorial in Illustrator is so fun! I kind of learned something about the tools and the shortcut keys on how they function and what it's purpose are. Thank you for this!
This is a great tutorial and I have to say, you do a great job at teaching, but some things were over complicated, per deleting half of the "branches" and creating a copy flipped over the vertical axis. Instead, you can easily just use the scissors tool and cut between the top middle point and the bottom middle point we created. This would make two exact shapes and leave out the complication. Overall great video regardless! just thought to point it out. Edit: I only thought to point this out because I've only been using illustrator for less than a week and this is something I noticed.
After this tutorial I learned about the shape builder tool which makes things infinitely easier, check out my flat design cactus tutorial for the latest and greatest!
HI @Pixel&Bracket, one tip, you should have your layers visible, because people can get lost along the way and without seeing your layers its tough to catch up
@@pixelandbracket Really? I've heard that from folks before. Your tutorials are awesome. I think i was distracted on this one so I'm doing it again. Thanks for providing the free content. Your channel is great!
This is really helpfull and very kind of you to make a video tutorial for the begginers! I enjoyed following your steps and do what you did, until the part where you showed us how to cut the branches in half. Well, that's what happened to me after hitting delete... The angles of the one side of the tree disappeared and then it was just a straight line with the tree still there. The tree branches were still there (the tree as body still existed), but without the triangular corners, it looked kinda llike a ''slope'' going down. So why that part of deleting the half didn't work out? I followed exactly what you said and did. I tried to do that like 10+ times, but I couldn't make it untill the end because of that. Thank you in advance if you answer me and thank you for your time as well for doing the video! I'll see more of yours.
thanks! I could look into that, are you looking for character faces or full body? I've seen some good tutorials out there I could probably do something similar sometime, characters made out of basic shapes, etc.
Hi, it's very helpful tut! :) Thank you! I am AI beginner and I can not get it how you really delete the half of the tree? How did you use direct selection tool, in order to select those 3 branches points? I keep watching this moment and do not see how you really select them. :)

and your comment is very much appreciated!
Thanks for another good tutorial! Just one quick question, how did you bring those color palette into the board?
Thank you, it worked! The only issue I had was calculating the size. every time I added *1.5 it made the triangle super big.
Glad you got it figured out! Doesn’t have to be an exact science I suppose you could just eyeball it!
If someone haves the same problem - just go * 1,5 instead 1.5
Ah, this is a difference overseas ya?
@@pixelandbracket Yeah looks like
