My local store got a barrel pick from them and it’s fantastic. Lot of carmel and traditional bourbon flavors but it’s bright and has an almost blackberry cobbler finish
I picked up a store barrel pick of this the other day. Tasted it in the store and really liked it. Very approachable for a non bourbon drinker and easy to sip and tasty. Im gona go with the rest of the posters, this is good stuff. I would try it first before making a decision.
Actually, I loved my Spring 2023 bottle of The Representative and have thoroughly enjoyed The Senator as well. Personally, I feel they are extremely tasty blends of MGP and other whiskies and highly recommend them to my friends. But, to each their own, everyone's palates are different.
In general having the bottle left open over night can help mellow things or get you to it's resting aroma and flavors. Ralphy scotch reviewer aficionado says if you don't like it just wait. Don't judge it by the cover or initial pour or 4. I'd love to hear a follow up in a week. Cheers. Love me 101, rittenhouse now, knob creek 9 and rebel 100 (soft and pungent). all bargains and easily findable.
It may mellow a bit, but I can usually get a sense of a bottle is going to be decent or not right away. Some I’ll enjoy more as time goes on, some less. It’s been rare that a bottle goes from terrible at first to great.
You must have got a bad bottle. I just got the summer 2023 label and even the neck pour was solid granted at this high octane I'm putting a splash of water. It crushes the vast majority of Bookers ive had in recent memory and mops the floor with knob creek 12. Best $45 i've spent in a long time.
Not a bottle and not information I can count on and care to waste my time on. Info is vague and ambiguous, just another MGP blend. MGP is generally "good enough," but not exceptional.

I just had a bottle of Spring 2023 at 116.5 proof, Very tasty and def. worth the $49.99 at Trader Joes. I'd buy it again for sure!
Thanks for the review. Still recommending this channel to people in the area. Thanks for taking the time to chat the other day.
Thanks Greg!
Just picked this bottle up a few days ago for $49. Love other Proof and Wood offerings like Tumblin’ Dice Single Barrel Bourbon. 🥃
Sawdust, love that review!
Have you had the chance to review a Garrison Brothers Balmorhea?
Have not. Got to try Cowboy bourbon a couple years ago. That was the only garrison Bros I’ve had
I have never even seen this. Thanks for sharing your thoughts though. I have had that kind of reaction to "world best" results before. Thanks, cheers!
Yeah they don’t seem very legit to me

My bottle is from Summer 2023, did you try that one?
@@TheSubourbonDad not yet, but I have one to open at some point. will see if it is that different.

Hey Tim. Well darn, I was hoping this was some good juice. I see that Total Wine in O’Fallon has some in stock.
Yep, that’s where I got it. I was hopeful too. Do better Proof&Wood
All over St Louis in last few weeks
