    As thickness will be same before and after the strech happen, Thickness = (D-d) = (D′-d′), where D is OD of convayor, and d is ID of convayor, D′ is OD of washer and d′ is ID of washer.
    So, (D-d)/(D'-d') = 1
    I understand this part.
    But why, D'/L' = d'/l' ? It is saying, D',L',P and d',l',P are making similar triangle. But clearly they are not making one as P does not change. So why
    D'/L' = d'/l' or, D'=L'/l'*d' ?

    Close but not quite right. The development size should be 322 OD x 122 ID with a split angle of 19.8 degrees to give exactly one pitch segment.

    To obtain 1 revolution (360°) after spiraling, you need 338° of flat material. But one does not cut this 22°. The end result will then give more than 360° of spiral. It will be 360/338x360°. Is that correct?

      Yes,
      In this sum, It can be simply say that 338* comes to 360* when the plate is pulled,
      Incase we didn't cut degree, we have totally 360* plate. We already know the expansion degree value for 338. (360=338+22)
      [|]. 338* => 360*,
      we need to find the value for remaining 22*. [360-338=22]
      [||]. 22* => ?
      22/338 = 0.065..
      0.065.. X 22 = 1.4319..
      For 22* => 22+1.4319.. = 23.4319..
      [^o^]. 22* => 23.4319..
      For 360* plate without degree cut, it becomes 383.4319..* [ 360+23.4319..]
      [|||]. 360 => 383.4319..*
      By your way,
      360/338x360 ==> 1/338 = 0.002958...
      0.002958... X 22 = 0.065...
      0.065... X 22 = 1.4319...
      1.4319..* + 22* = 23.4319..*
      360*+23.4319..* = 383.4319...*
      We can solve any other sum with different values by these methods.
