I also love the Bavarian marzen beers and this one, to my palette, is the most consistently excellent, with Ayinger being a close second. Great content on your channel. Keep it coming! Tipping a Hacker Pschorr Marzen back now. Prost!
Guten Tag from San Antonio, Texas. I was able to scratch one off that bucket list last year and went to Oktoberfest and it was amazing, from the culture, weather, festival, and the beer, an absolute MUST if you're a beer lover. I'm addicted now, so this year I'm stocking up on Oktoberfest to have some year round. The 2 I bought the most of were H-P marzen & Paulaner Oktoberfestbier. Having experienced the real thing in Munich, I found that they are not serving marzens there, but festbiers. And there is a noticable difference, I prefer the festbiers, but getting a good supply of both types, it's nice to mix it up and alternate between them when enjoying a few. The Germans know how to make a delicious beer, Prost!
Prospect Park, PA. Just brought a 12 pack of Hacker Pschorr yesterday. Delicious while working on a 67 VW Westfalia bus! Prosit!!!🇩🇪 Great video. Makes me want to down another 2-3 this afternoon!
Lake Point, Utah viewer here. I'll need to add this one to the Oktoberfest try list. Have you reviewed Grolsch in the past? S cheap-ish brew favorite of mine.
Guten Tag from Bellevue WA, USA!! I love this Vid, but i feel the need to "Remind" that the Rheinheitzgabot Dictates the following ingredients and no others: Water, Malt, Hops, and YEAST!. i know you deffinately knew this, so this is just for those who may not :D I hope your year is going well, meine Fruend.... Auf Vidizeine!! :D
I love Oktoberfest beers. The real ones (of which I’ve only had 3) and the ones made here (unofficial). I stocked up on all I could find on my last trip to total wine. I’m not able to find this one in my area.
I got some odd almost acrid mint flavors when I first poured it, but after it had 2-3 minutes to breathe, that went away. I bought it from Total Wine. Overall: very good 👍
Unfortunately, this is the not the same beer they sell at Munich Oktoberfest. It is a much more bitter red märzen made for Americans. The Munich version is called Oktoberfestbier and is a delicious golden brew. Only Hofbrau and Paulaner sell the same Oktoberfest beers in Munich and the USA.
Funnily enough I am in Germany now and have just opened a HP Oktoberfest beer and yes, nothing like the beer on screen. Mine is ‘Festbier’ style, so light (still strong at 6%) but golden not amber and more balanced between hop and malt. Not sure why the US gets a 150 year old beer style for Oktoberfest when the Germans now brew something very different!
@@onyva3256 We can get the Weihenstephaner Festbier in the US, considered one of the best! both styles are great, but i think all German styles are great lol cheers!
Got to admit love the hat... and that beer looks amazing, coming at you from Detroit Michigan

Pours dark gold, amber, nice abundant, thick foam. In aroma bready, floral, slightly estery. In taste strongly malty, bready, slightly fruity. Delicate bitterness, herbal, pleasant.
