I went on a weekend trip on Freedom OTS pre-Amplification a couple years back. That was a fun cruise. Good to know that it's still a great ship experience
Man you are speaking to me Tommy! We had the same experience as we were on Freedom OTS the Monday after Thanksgiving, and then Breakaway with you. I would say the quality of the food I would give to the Breakaway. We didn't do any of the shows on Freedom, but we did have a Casita on the sea day and it was totally worth it. We were just off to the side of the bar upstairs with all the couches around our cabana, so people we had met would come by and enjoy the entrapments of our casita. We were close enough to the pool but far enough away to feel like you are away from everyone. Drink service was THE best I have ever had on a ship since the drink package came into existence because of the Casita. Nailed it I think on both venues. Honestly I am looking at Freedom in 2024 when they move it to Ft. Lauderdale. They are going to be doing some 6 and 8 day itineraries then.
Thanks for the very detailed comparison. The main thing that keeps me from running to Royal Caribbean is the whole mall look of the larger ships. I know that may seem like I'm nit picking but it is just not appealing to me. I have only sailed on one Royal ship, and that was the old girl, Enchantment of the Seas, which I really enjoyed. That being said, I am scheduled to sail Wonder of the Seas in 2025, but only because a friend is celebrating her birthday on that ship. Lol That's what I love about cruising. There is something out there for everyone. I will update my opinion in 2025!
We have tons of ice bars here in Wisconsin, it’s called smoking outside in the winter.
