tbh I don't think top players got worse, it's definitely the insane prize pool increase bringing in new, more motivated talent than ever before and dethroning everyone. Aside from the 1st year of the game, this one saw the most new faces in top8 for sure.

He's a consistent top 8 hattori player, you don't simply switch off your best legend for a better weapon match up, that only really works in lower ranks because weapon match ups matter less at pro level.

@@deathhy7590 nah pros actually understand movement which is the key factor of winning in a bad match up. Majority of pros only use 1 or 2 legends in tourney cuz that's what they're best with, not to counter someone. Usually you'll see a legend swap to adapt to another player's *playstyle*, very rarely is it just for a weapon advantage. Cosolix literally only plays lance, by your logic every pro would just swap to something like axe vs him. Yet all I see is pros using hatever they main in that matchup.
Watch some pros stream, occasionally they'll be in a weapon disadvantage and explain what they do to counter it because changing your approach options, positioning, etc can greatly mitigate the weapon disadvantage and make it nonexistent.

@@waduhek5994 it doesn’t matter. Obviously in the grand scheme of things weapon matchups/character matchups aren’t that important. But it is literally objectively wrong that pro players rely on it less than lower level players. Lower level players can’t utilize what makes a matchup good/bad, pros can. Those are the facts lmao
