I miss Concorde so much. Such a beautiful elegant exciting aircraft. I worked at Heathrow for 14 years back in the 1980’s/90’s and you could set your watch the time that Concorde departed. I now volunteer at the FAST Museum, Farnborough airport which is dedicated to the history of the RAE and some of the Concorde wind tunnel models you see in the film are displayed. We also have a section of Concorde fuselage, this was part of the fatigue test airframe used by the RAE at Farnborough along with many other items. Entrance to the museum is free and we open every weekend 1000-1600.
Their vision was for a more interconnected world where everyone can trade with each other. Too bad our desire for everything to be dirt cheap meant we ended up having nearly everything produced by a just a few countries by people working for pittance.
2:40 the man is a legend. he also stated long before the money pit that was the TSR2 that the specs were lunacy. he also saved RR when management lost control of the RB211 programme and bankrupted the company. george edwards - another legend :) ill never understand why they went ahead to build. the fairey delta 2 had many complaints flying mach 2 over land. a much larger passenger plane was always going to be louder still. also 16 tons per hour of fuel on climb-out was a little sensitive to fuel prices.
Answer to question one: no (which severely limited the number of routes Concorde served to two… and only flew supersonic when not on land). Answer to question two: (eventually) yes. The answer to question one informed answer two…

I grew up in London and remember watching Concorde flying overhead as I sat gazing out of the window at school. It was beautiful.

Those men all looked like bank managers but they were real visionaries. It's a shame it all ended so badly.
There were jealous types watching and I think wishing for an excuse to terminate Concord and they got what they wanted :(

Too stilted and looks artificial with all the proper studio lightning, although there are a couple of nice shots, like the one at 2:30.
I live in Las Vegas and as a kid when we heard a jet engine roar so loud that it basically shook the ground we knew the Concord was taking off.😂
Travelling through centuries in a blip should be even more fun. And while it's technically possible, I don't why we don't do it more often.

I think that they should make the aircraft. Perhaps call it Fastplane or concord? We all should smoke a pipe and be in black and white.

if we can make diesel engines rev to 100,000rpm then perhaps supersonic travel will become viably affordable one day!
