Ben, I just discovered your channel by chance and I am so happy I did. Your videos are of such great quality, your humor is hilarious and your editing is amazing. It’s a crime you don’t have more subs. I’ve been starting a collection of my own recently and your videos have just increased my excitement and confidence in taking it up. Thanks a lot,
    Sincerely Ben

You can actually sell a record, or trade, etc. which you can't with digital downloads

Hi Ben, well I had already given you my main reason why collecting vinyl records is a good thing, ya know, with the crack addiction and all being under control due to all my funds going to vinyl, but I could mention one other huge plus is the massive amounts of clutter vinyl can create. Much like you on your bed there, I love being buried alive with glossy, waxy, glorious vinyl. The smell, the over crowding, the lack of ability to pull in a chair, or even walk through a room, is such a treat. Aaaaaa, thank god for records.
I'm glad you found some equally compelling reasons why you wont stop buying vinyl records. Maybe not as good as crack and hoarding, but nevertheless good reasons!
PS - I asked Tony, he aint callin you dude. Take Care Ben
    Love,
    The Whore

+VinylCollector James I’m glad that records have saved you from destitution, even if you did take Tony from me. Thanks for watching James :)

I like the way you say record player and not turntable.Less pretentious yes! coloured vinyl. Just like watching them go round and round and round......

What a fun video! All good reasons, and I'm sure most of us share them. I would add that with thrift shopping, I feel I'm getting a real good deal on something with a high perceived (sometimes real) value.

Ah, the generational difference such that you got records like "Rumours" from your nan. That's cool and makes me smile. Alas I didn't want my nan's records. Trust me, YOU wouldn't have wanted my nan's records, either.
Speaking aesthetics: for a long time we've had the CD made to look like a record. Given the way things are going, I wonder when we'll get a record made to look like a CD? Or perhaps a laserdisc...
In terms of lists, I can find infinitely more reasons NOT to collect records than reasons to collect them but the (smaller) list of reasons to do so outweighs the reasons not to.
P.S. I'm Tony Devlin - when do I get my records back, please?

    hi Ben
i do admire these angry videos
i don't really know how to get angry like that
must be great to get it out !
and yes we have lost so much culture
    through recent technology
    nobody is grounded any more
    there is no tactile texture
i know what you mean about fixing things
MrKatyia has to do that sometimes
    its really scary for her
i fixed the tv aerial connection recently
    using a RUclips tutorial
i found that there were some wires
    that shouldn't be touching
    superficial ? er , no …

+MrKatyia Thank you, I’m really glad you enjoyed them and I’m with you on everything there :) it’s scary to try and fix things yourself but very satisfying when it works, and don’t worry, I was being sarcastic about the superficiality.
