      @WearylessMusic Download 'Link to Windows' and connect it to 'Phone Link' and there that solves all the phone connecting problems from android to windows. Very Simple.

      @EarthLeaf97 Yeah, right🤡. Nothing works. My Windows/Linux dual boot computer works perfectly with my Samsung Smartphone, Pixel Watch and Lenovo Tablet. Almost forgot my Dell Laptop. I don't know how tf he managed to make everything look this complicated, like I initialized Phone-Link once, and now I have a shared clipboard without doing anything. But yeah, as you said nothing works on Android....

      I was beginning to wonder if this was a rage bait video. It started right from the setup where the iPhone option is literally for people like him who are transitioning from iOS to Android and he skips it. He spends quite some time criticising Google's data access, and keeps shooting Android in the foot for at least half the video before signing into the Google Account. All this, while running a massive RUclips channel that has already given Google knowledge about how many times he scratched his ear while editing this video.

  • @xenonbart5526
    @xenonbart5526 9 months ago +1487

    For those curious, the camera wants access to your location so it can add it to the metadata of the picture, that way apps like Google photos can show you where the picture was taken, it's also a neat way to find the pictures of your vacation to wherever instead of having to remember the year you were there and scrolling through possibly hundreds of pictures from that year only to recall it was the year before you went there. This data is also the first thing you want to strip when sharing it online or with strangers in general as you could possibly give away your home location.

    • @shortax7
      @shortax7 9 months ago +118

      social media that uses any compression or has basic security usually strips metadata by itself. At least in whatsapps and discords case iirc

    • @RichardJActon
      @RichardJActon 9 months ago

      If you want to be sure and manually strip location and other metadata from images before sharing I recommend 'Scrambled Exif' a simple open source tool for doing this on android

    • @imoutodaisuki
      @imoutodaisuki 9 months ago +63

      Any competent social media platform or website that allows media uploads would strip location data, or possibly all exif metadata, unless explicitly stated otherwise by design. If you're not active in some obscure forum, you probably don't need to worry too much. Still, it's good practice to strip it yourself.

    • @gmilktea
      @gmilktea 9 months ago +7

      @imoutodaisuki how do I strip it by myself?

    • @imoutodaisuki
      @imoutodaisuki 9 months ago

      @gmilktea Look for an exif editor/remover. My phone’s gallery has a built-in metadata remover when sharing images, so that’s what I personally use.

      it gets worse when he tries to connect an android device on windows, like this person does not know that android devices "just work" for windows, through Bluetooth / usb-c and what not without the need to install KDE or any of it. this guy is ..., I'm just going to say that, HE IS IGNORANT!. it has been years since i installed any drivers manually for my devices on Windows 11 PC, people who use Windows / Android, would know. Though it is expected, that bog being an apple user, would not know that Windows / Android users do not deal with tedious nonsense like installing drivers or such..
      i did not know mac's required so much of installations to make just one thing work especially when it comes to dealing with other branded/platform devices, and it doesn't even work properly, glad I didn't buy one. i do own other apple devices, but if i had any thoughts towards owning a mac pc, they have evaporated as of this moment 😂

      Henonnnn "with iPhone", there you have it, that's all it "just works" with, apple devices work with apple devices, if it didn't at least do that, that would be quite troubling, but windows works with Android and iphone, ipad and just about everything else, for the most part. which is why most users who use windows, will stick to it, due to how it works with almost every other platform/device, unless that platform/device specifically blocks other platforms.

      @ilyb_444 I don't know what you're on about. The Google photos app can access media in the Google cloud, but it works like a normal media gallery otherwise. The main screen shows a timeline of photos and videos you shot on that phone, and for other media (e.g. downloads, screenshots) you go to the collections. Don't want everything to clutter your timeline after all.

      Lol yea I was gonna comment the same thing. Like, I don't blame him for going the route he did since I'm assuming it's foreign to an apple-only ecosystem to be able to plug a phone into a computer and have it appear like a USB stick without any extra software etc. But android mac connections, yea best of luck with that. Gotta love options like KDE Connect lol.
      The same actually for the MTP problem he was having as well. To us familiar with android it feels obvious that he shoulda swiped down from the top to open the notification shade and tap the USB connection notification to change it to File Transfer/MTP. But the UI/UX wasn't really helping guide him to be able to do that.

    For anyone who doesn’t know, all androids have a cast feature that works with almost all smart TVs, even really old ones, and it connects to your TV and mirrors your phone screen and also the audio! You just need to go change sources on your TV to “Wireless screen” and on your android phone, swipe down into the control centre and there should be an option to wirelessly connect to your TV!

    as a daily iphone and android user, this was so painful to watch, and I think the biggest reason is, you have the iphone mindset. and try to use it how you use the iphone. which is 100% fair, a lot of it is muscle memory, and not knowing how simple things are in the world of android. I use both daily, and I despise how insane iphones are with how you have to do things, the lack of global gestures, simple tasks needing extra steps to complete, etc.

      I was a lifetime android user and had the same reaction to using an iPhone for the first time! I was confused as fuck lmao, I have it for a year and I'm still discovering a lot of stuff that an iPhone should do, but it's fairly old, it's an SE 2022, it has problems with the most basic things a phone should have, like lots of apps don't have the mic working properly.. tried to record on Snapchat, and the microphone was just static. tried to use Siri, she doesn't hear me. then it should be able to pay with my saved card, but no matter how many times I set it up, the damn terminals don't recognize it as a card, it just doesn't react, which both might be hardware issues :( I got the phone brand new, dunno why that doesn't work, but it made me super sad cuz otherwise it's a great, really great phone, because in the past all I had from Android was a lot of old phones and Xiaomis, so no wonder I was fed up with Android. New Android phones do so much stuff that my old ones could never dream of, I am just so used to them lagging after 1 month of usage. also, I do miss the customization options and being able to crack some apps so I wouldn't have to pay premium, which I have to do now on my iPhone because it might be possible but extremely difficult. sorry for the long reply, it's just there's always something, and as it's simple for you on android, some people might find iPhones more simple, I so far don't know what's better and like both in their own ways but definitely wanna switch back to Android once this phone gives up on me

    • @RathJ13
      @RathJ13 Month ago

      @salem_kruegeroh I totally agree that it all depends what you're used to. iPhone users will absolutely fine iPhones easier because they just know it.
      But, taking a look at each and how they both do things, taking all bias out, the steps needed to get things done are honestly "simpler" on androids. If you had zero prior experience with iPhones or androids, it would be more intuitive and easier the pick up and use an android fluently, faster than it would be to do the same with an iPhone.

      @samirgolchha The issue is when you buy a phone it shouldnt have any bloat pre installed. This is why before i switched to pixel i was on oneplus, same thing, stock android but with a few enhancements and no bloat (well they did have Netflix pre installed but i can forgive them for that since it was when oneplus used a new screen tech and netflix was one of the few apps at the time that could use all the features of the new screen).
      but from my oneplus 8T i had the pixel 7 pro, then i tried the samsung flip 3 but didnt like the ui and now im on the pixel 9 pro fold and think im just gonna stick with pixel phones now, hell im even running the Android 16 beta and the new changes to the ui are amazing :D

      @Stevo.100 Nah man these days even Samsung sucks as hard as iPhone does, if we are to talk about hardware and phone brands (not the firmware iOS or Android) in my personal opinion as someone that tried both Samsung and iPhone, I've now got a OnePlus and I do not regret even one second I switched from those overpriced brands, when my OnePlus 12 came out it was considerably cheaper than both the latest flagships at the time same snapdragon model for samsung in the oneplus, more ram, 16GB while the samsung offered only 12GB and many more things, and honestly the OxygenOS (which for those that don't know is basically android but smoother and more on steroids you could say lol) is good. So in short f**k Apple, f**k Samsung, give smaller brands a chance, you'll find equal if not better quality at half the prices, but if you wanna pay the brand then its on you.

    2:05 "Android is like linux" Bruv, it is literally Linux.
    Edit: I'm not backing down about the statement.
    Yes, Android is an operating system based on a modified version of the Linux kernel and other open-source software.
    Is an orange a citrus fruit? Yes, it is a citrus fruit. Not even half, it's a true citrus fruit.
    Linux is the name of the family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel.
    If Android is not a Linux, nothing is. As there is nothing such as a Pure Linux, according to the definition.
    So, Android is a Linux.

    i use a samsung and to transfer files via usb you can use it normally and go to the quick control panel on top, where a usb option appears. you can select "only charge", "share pictures", "share files / android auto" and the third option allows you to see your files. I dont recommend using usb debugging because if you plug in something unsafe into your phone it will have full access. the pixel launcher is also a very different thing than on most phones. you should def try samsung oneui, im using oneui6 because ui7 is not a finished product and i think it's really fine. happy you enjoyed your android experience.

    1. the mouse thing on kde connect works btw, u forgot to give it permission
    2. u can find mtp from the notifications menu, click on the first notification that says something like usb settings and from there choose mtp (DO THAT WHILE U R CONNECTED VIA USB CABLE TO THE LAPTOP)
    3. screen time is in the battery settings
    4. i recommend u use smart launcher as a default launcher it's the most aesthetic launcher out there and makes android a lot easier to use
    5. u can hide apps and lock them natively using private space
    6. u can customize without root but with root its a lot better and u can even delete google play services and the play store and replace them with microg which is a lot easier on ur ram and doesn't have all that tracking stuff from google
