they are inhales, I can do them as well. but its very tricky to get it right. The sound is essentially a result of pushing your vocal chords together and leaving a very small small space in between them so that the “whistle tone” is made when you inhale. if you push them together with too little force; you won’t be able to produce the sound, and if you do it too hard; you will end up hurting yourself. Sho on the other hand has impeccable vocal control, so he can do essentially do them perfectly every time. It is the result of lots of practice. Certainly it comes easier to some than others, but it it’s definitely possible!
on another note, i can't believe that this is sho's first band! his vocal is way too awesome, it could be on par or even better than other vocalists with previous band experience!
With some of the higher vocals you notice a slight instability in his voice that shows he needs to work on his breath technique. Aside from that yep :P
