Koa’s Fledge Day and Adventures at the West End Nest 06.03.2024 (explore.org)

West End eaglet Koa fledged today and flew up to the historical nest, where it stayed most of the day. In late afternoon, it tried to go back to the nest twice, but its siblings were protecting the nest and didn’t allow Koa to return. Koa soared beautifully around the area and ended up at the night perch with dad, Akecheta. Koa preened for a short time, then followed dad and tucked in for the night. This video is a compilation of the day, and let there be no doubt that these eaglets perched in a cliffside nest will have no problem fledging and getting up to the historic nest.
