Controversial Alloy colour choice 😂 Don’t worry if you don’t like it these alloys are only temporary until the new ones arrive. Personally I think the colour really works well though 🤷♀️😂
Black spark plugs is a sign of too rich a fuel air mixture. If its been track run it may have had computer settings changed, perhaps poorly! Get it back to factory settings is probably best
@Chris Brinkley what don't you get there is some stuff called Merlin's blood , dragons breath etc that when u spray onto an alloy and it's working the acid turns purple or darker etc.
370 HP and I love the colors! Normally I would consider beige to be a barfy color but here it is unique and classy. The wheels compliment it nicely and white calipers are again unique. If I ever do the calipers on my white S5 I think white will be it!
Matt you really are a great inspiration. I've been following you for a long time.. Since the Audi TT, Kevin was a baby 😃 You as my favorite and two other RUclips channels persuaded me to finally enter the world of cars which I have always loved. A year ago I quit my job, opened a company that sells tuning / styling parts, Eibach / Bilstein springs and chip tuning. I didn't regret it for a second. I want to tell you, thank you for everything. Lots of success in further work and to gather 250,000 subscribers by Christmas. Say hello to Hannah. I hope I wrote well in English 😅
Editing is second to none, amazing work , editing ain’t easy so fair play to you mate, would be nice to see a video on your property venture and how much someone could expect to make from RUclips
I’ve got the S6 5.2 V10 and a walnut blast did the trick on the valves. Cleans the right up! Oil consumption was due to a defective PCV, so got rid of that! And cleaning the injectors was a bit tricky! Had to remove them and flush them in both directions. Believe me, there was a a lot of gunk removed when I flushed them backwards.
Glad to see a colour instead of boring black. Defo media blast for the intake and head clean. Watch the vids on line with your unit you could do that sort of stuff your self, Don’t do that hydro clean seen so many times it just creates problem and doesn’t clean properly.
That's a hell of a lot of oil to lose over that distance mate. Hopefully the service will help with the general performance . I can't see any black smoke coming out of the exhaust indicating bad piston rings. Are you sure there are is no leaks running down anywhere underneath the car? If its clean perhaps an additive in the oil can help with the high oil usage and checking the forums for people who have had the same issue. Like the wheels mate, colour goes with the car. Ditch those blue lights inside lol. Thanks for the video.
If you can wrap, and have access to it, I have a car that I care about ( fully paint protected and PPF’d by a professional ) then I have a cheap track car that I wrap the front ends myself and I couldn’t care less as once it gets a few scratches or whatever I’ll just peel of the wrap and Chuck a new bit on so I let stuff drag across it, place keys, sit on it and all Wouldn’t let anything touch or rest on the paintwork of the PPF’d car though saying that.
There is a set procedure to get all the oil out of those, and refill it. Neither of which you did. If you do another oil change on that after the carbon clean, warm the engine right up to 110 degrees on the oil temp gauge. The oil thermostat on those opens at around 100 and completes the circuit to the cooler. So if it is drained under that temp, old oil will be sitting in the cooler. When refilling, pour in 7 litres, start the engine up and let it idle for 30 seconds. Switch it off, add another 1.5 litres then run up to temp. Wait for it to pass the 110 to get it flowing through the whole circuit again, and then check and adjust on the dipstick as required. That awkward sump plug is possible with a ball ended wobble if you remove the mid shield, or remove the 4 T30’s going along the brace that secure the mid shield to the frame, then bend the plastic down enough to get onto it. You will more than likely round the Allen inside and have to replace it. Because even using that tool, rounds them off and we had to replace the plugs, 4 on the V8’s and 5 on the V10’s. All the best changing the pollen filter if you have B&O sound system. Love the wheels and calliper colour, but the main body, mmmm not so sure.
Just to finish off that threat to the guy who replaced the engine... And I will.. utilise a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career, skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you give up your name now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will force you to SUBSCRIBE! Ps those alloys are growing on me.
I reckon 386bhp it sounds really badly clogged up with carbon so maybe not even that but credit to you. There’s something weirdly satisfying knowing that there’s fresh parts in the Audi now making it run so much better
Not really a car type of guy, I do have an Audi TT which is why I'm on this channel, but slow Mat is turning me into a car type of guy. Great channel 👏 love it.
Great video..... the colors do work well together.... definitely not the norm, but you're right that you should have fun in trying things out...well done
Nice vid. The carbon clean on my audi made a big difference in power and smooth running. Terraclean did a great job. Dyno' @ 160 before, 200hp after. Audi fsi engines are a poor design.
Colours are mad but they work. Carbon clean will transform it Mat, my old B7 RS4 went from 360bhp to almost 420bhp after it had been cleaned and adding a cheeky Milltek cat back exhaust at Awesome GTi in Manchester. 👍🏼
Fuel consumption - change the ignition coils and sparks ( Iridium ) and do your infamous oil change. Use LiquiMoly - it's the business. Oil consumption - there a leak? MP will help you with that. You know this. Any VAG is pretty easy to diagnose. Your S5 was the same. Use these same principles. Love the alloy wheel colour and the callipers are different. Still don't like the salmon colour wrap. Not fitting for an R8. Needs something more on par with the type of car it is. But it's your car, not mine.
I personally wouldn't choose any of the colours you've gone with but actually like the look of the car with the colours you've chose, especially the wheels 👍Good effort mate
Mat I think the wheels go well with the colour of the wrap, white calipers too! 👌 You need to get rid of those blue leds, 30 second job, that would have been the first thing I'd have done when I got it home!!
Great video and great mods! Just a small detail. I think you shouldn’t sit the Audi straight on the ramp. You should use something between the ramp and the car, like 4 small pieces of wood and align them with the jack stands on the car. Cheers.
Love the wheel colour and the white callipers, but you will always be cleaning them. Looking forward to seeing how this progresses. Keep up the good work. 👑
No problems with the wheel colour Mat...looks superb. Now how about all the front grilles to match!!!!!! But please NOT the white callipers pleeeeze. I'll go for 440. Cheers, Bob
R8 won't loose that much power; unlike your S5 project!!! But, depends on what's been done. Or not done. See what MP think when you get it on the dyne - an no go fast racing stripes either mate. Nit a good look for the R8. Nice service. Seems to use the same oil filter on this as the S5!!! Once you change the ignition coils the car will start singing again.
I'm a little concerned on the oil consumption, while carbon cleaning is important and most likely needed I would look into the PCV system and check that oil separator. Hopefully nothing is getting past the rings.
Hey Mat, awesome video. I own a 4.2 fsi as well and the carbon issue is very popular and would really enjoy a in-depth video if you were to do a carbon clean. Looking forward to it! Keep it up.
Change coils, Walnut blast, install a catch can and it should be perfect. Also don't forget to change the fuel filter along with a Unitronic stage 1 tune
So I think after the service it will run 392 bhp taking its age as well. Also get led white interior bulbs mate have them in my tts makes a huge difference 👍
I had Audi 2010. It started using oil 500ml per tank at 75k then used like 1ltr oil per 300km at 95k. The piston rings are so thin and start to wear at 75k. The ONLY FIX WAS A PISTON RING REPLACEMENT. Not happy. It’s apparently a class action in USA and UK for warranty call. They will sort out for free. Here in Australia 🇦🇺 they deny it’s even a problem. Audi consume so much oil. Cost was $7.5k. 2009-13 have massive oil issues due to pollution and fuel economy. All the best.
Alloys look amazing. Too many cars follow the crowds with colour choice, bold choices for sure, but they work. The new alloys will have be special to enhance the looks further 😀
Audi is looking mint loving the mad colour choices recently ..next car in stead of blacking out the chrome bits you should wrap them gold or bronze something abit different :)
Actually surprised that I like the alloys, not so sure about the white calipers, either way congrats for being so bold. I'd like to think it would hit 387bhp but the original condition you picked it up in had seen better days. Keep up the good work👍
Strangely enough, I like everything you have done with your cars. Whether it’s a liberty walk kit of a different colour wheel. Matt, they all look sick pal.
Really like the wheels and calipers. Not so much the wrap, would've looked so so much nicer in a more conventional colour imo. But as long as you like it!
I rarely ever comment BUT... As your channel grows it's refreshing to see that you "grew out" of the blacked out car era. I for one love the red wheels, not all-up in your face but something different. Sets off the car, and I ROFLd on the "rolling hearing aid" pun in the previous video. As for the calipers; interesting choice, but surely pops, looks good. As for the power: my guess is 370bhp, I'm sorry but you're selling it like it's roughly that much (not much but notable). Keep them videos coming, let your imagination run wild and stick to COLOURS ;) Big ups from Hampshire
Another great video Mat and your presentation is just so natural - .."do you know what I just love ... when you clean the outside of the car and it cleans the inside aswell...niiccee". The lift you purchased - is it a mid-rise or full rise unit - looks smashing
Hi mat love the video I was wondering why you always change the spark plugs. Just because most have iridium plugs and dont they last like 80k miles? Cheers
at 90k the injector spray pattern will be weak , reducing so much power , dependent which avenue of carbon clean gets done if the injectors get cleaned youll see a massive gain in my opinion
More so on the turbo ones. The 1.8 and 2.0 TFSI in the A4, A5 and Q5 should have been a recall. Its good if u like it
Matt. I like everything about the car, alloys brakes etc. I just can't get over the fact you wrapped it to look like a big sex aid.
R8 Alloy - Maserati colour next
Maserati Alloy - R8 colour 😀
Are you going to give them away once the new set comes?
@@keatonaspell2292 I think they would look cool on show in the unit maybe ill give one away 😂
Looks like a Werther's Original
Lol
🤣
Finally. Rhubarb and custard is back!!
Black spark plugs is a sign of too rich a fuel air mixture. If its been track run it may have had computer settings changed, perhaps poorly! Get it back to factory settings is probably best
Your seriously talented mate, as always love the vids
Couldn’t agree more, Mat tackles all the problems that come up with a smile. I envy that. Seems like a really cool dude!
Love the alloys. The carbon clean makes a massive difference, go for it. Keep up the good work. Enjoying the chanel.
Yes but i would recomend also a System cleanen for the fuel it can also make a big difference but you have to push it to the Limit
No.5?
The red alloys look great, going black would have been too easy and too common
Love the wheel and caliper color. Really is perfect. I can tell you without doubt a carbon clean will make a massive difference.
The alloys look decent to be fair, do remind me of the wheel cleaning spray I use however aha
Merlin's blood by any chance ?
Bilt?
@Chris Brinkley what don't you get there is some stuff called Merlin's blood , dragons breath etc that when u spray onto an alloy and it's working the acid turns purple or darker etc.
Saw you on the way to alloy fix on the M1, gave you the thumbs up in the grey TT. Love the channel, keep up the good work
Only if Starbucks done cars... the Crème de la crème of Lattes 👌🏽

Them wheels are amazing
Keep them bro
Loving the vids

9:08 that "lets get to it" was perfectly timed
Glad to see a colour instead of boring black.
Defo media blast for the intake and head clean. Watch the vids on line with your unit you could do that sort of stuff your self, Don’t do that hydro clean seen so many times it just creates problem and doesn’t clean properly.
Those allows are totally 💯 and something different. 340bhp assuming it even manages the required number of pulls.
RE Performance in Swindon for your carbon clean Mat. Ricky is your man. He knows everything about R8s and a thoroughly decent chap to boot.
I've been waiting all week for an upload cmon mat upload more pls
Love the content still

I’d love to meet you in person Matt your such a humble bloke 👌🏼 I love your videos so much every bloody time I watch the I look like this 👉🏼😁
I like how honest you are about your rides. Thats broken, this leaks, etc.. still gonna show it and try to fix it on video. Great job!
Oh god, dragging the air pressure hose over that lovely wrap 😭
Yep, made me wince too.👍
If you can wrap, and have access to it, I have a car that I care about ( fully paint protected and PPF’d by a professional ) then I have a cheap track car that I wrap the front ends myself and I couldn’t care less as once it gets a few scratches or whatever I’ll just peel of the wrap and Chuck a new bit on so I let stuff drag across it, place keys, sit on it and all

@Have-a- Cigar yeah it’ll be wrapped again with a different Inozatek vinyl
@@Ewchap1. Umm ok!

Not too keen on the alloy colour. But love the white calipers. Better than the generic red/yellow. Keep up the good work mate.
These Aloys are insanely sick, I love them. It's just mindblowing increadible, taht they can repair even the most battered weels.

The car sounds (start up/idle) exactly how mine did when it needed a carbon clean, it’s worth doing the injectors while you’re there.

Keep up the good work!
Like the video but I’m not sure about the wheel colour, it looks like it’s been sprayed with an iron fallout remover and needs a good rinse
I drive an S5 (cabriolet), I think that's why youtube suggested your S5 videos to me and I've been following ever since.
Alloys look amazing. Too many cars follow the crowds with colour choice, bold choices for sure, but they work. The new alloys will have be special to enhance the looks further 😀

Mate I reckon it will dyno out to about 350 and agree with other post about the mapping, probably is not spec and worth a check
Whole it isn’t a daily driver how dirty are you seeing the white calipers getting?
Interested in doing the same

i love the different way you approach your mods and how excellent they look!
Mat you NEED to put a rear carbon wing and a titanium full racing exhaust system on that R8, it would look and sound HELL!
Hi Matt, to be honest my 2014 RS5 is very well looked after from new. I’ve done 40k miles now but it does like it’s oil!
Wheels look sick mate! Doesnt go with the wrap colour but still looks mint

Great Vid Mat, saw the colour of the alloys and was like "oh dear", saw them on the car was like "meh", love the white calipers !!! keep it going dude
I reckon mid 300’s, carbon clean and running on higher quality fuel... it should sort out your power loss issue.
Hi mat love the video I was wondering why you always change the spark plugs. Just because most have iridium plugs and dont they last like 80k miles? Cheers
I've said this before and I'll say it again....we are here and we trust your decisions....them wheels look great! Can't wait to see the rims on order.
It's going to be nice when you finish the R8. I'm thinking 360 bhp on the dyno but sometimes higher mileage cars surprise you!!
I love the joy mat always has in the videos!! Please keep it up mate
Wicked video bud i like the wheels i tjink about 380 on dyno defo carbon clean same as RS4 B7 they benefit from a carbon clean massively
another wicked video mate.. love the colour choices.. think it will be make around the 350hp at wheels
Those are the perfect colors that go with tan! excellent work Mat!
at 90k the injector spray pattern will be weak , reducing so much power , dependent which avenue of carbon clean gets done if the injectors get cleaned youll see a massive gain in my opinion
Reckon it’ll be running about 340 if it’s not been looked after. Good video again mate. Thanks
On the dyno 350bhp. Hate the body colour, love the wheel colour. 👍
Worth a try, go grab some Forte injector cleaner, forget the cheap crap, it aint cheap but Forte is the best in the garage industry.
I actually really like the wheels with the white calipers I like the way it makes the calipers pop
Pretty certain oil consumption is caused by clogged piston rings. Was very common for audis of that era... very costly repair I’m afraid...
More so on the turbo ones. The 1.8 and 2.0 TFSI in the A4, A5 and Q5 should have been a recall. The fix they tried to implement to reduce the consumption NEVER worked and every single one I ever had needed rings and pistons as they were modified. Then suddenly they changed the pistons and rings again, because some were still suffering with oil consumption. I do not miss doing them at all.
Why no performance air filters? Love the wheels though just need some audi centre caps
Hi Matt loved the video and good colour choice for alloy wheels. And I recon it will between 330 to 380bhp thanks Tim
Blades looking good, are they carbon skinned?
I love the wheels, shadow chrome would have been great but this is very nice too
Did they take the pads out when painting them callipers
You seriously not an amateur Matt, keep inspiring bro
Hi Matt. If it’s asking for oil all the time it may need a new oil sensor. I have an R8 and had the same issue. It’s a common fault
I think I saw a Trabant that colour when I was in Berlin but it strangely suits the car. The wheels and calipers are fresh. Keep up the good work dude gr8 entertainment 😉
Hi Matt Well done on fixing the R8, it gets better and better. Why didn't you change the fuel filter?
Love the callipers, wouldn't like the challenge of keeping them clean though!
On another note... Go to Mallory Performance on Google maps street view, step indoors, look left... :)
There’s nothing better than watching pros at work... in slo-mo!
I was expecting to not like the wheels but they look good. Especially with the white calliper.
Love the wheels and callipers. Goes well with the wrap
