Comparing these guys to something like the Abandoned Islands Amphicoelias is just night and day, even larger dangerous sauropods like the Triplex Argentinosaurus are so much better now. Never fails to impress me just how far carnivores creatures have come
It's funny that the Brontosaurus was made to be a very aggressive herbivore. In regards to the question regarding "gentle giants" vs aggressive sauropods, a few of the sauropod experts I've been able to talk to have been pointing out some rather important questions; why do we even assume that any of the sauropods we know of were what we'd "gentle giants" at all? Look at any of the large herbivorous mammals alive today (ie rhinos, bison, buffalo, hippos, elephants, etc), more often than not, they'll aggressively charge and brutally kill humans and other animals that enter their territory on sight, on rate or higher than the predators they share their environments with. So why do we assume that any of the sauropods were any different? Why do we assume say an Apatosaurus from the Jurassic wouldn't charge a Stegosaurus, as it might have an Allosaurus, that got too close to it?
I think its supposed to be that they are so big that they have no natural predators (which is true from what we can tell) but realistically even if that made the adults gentle shouldn't the younger ones still be angry bastards?
I highly doubt they were charging down things to brutally kill them in some sort of bloodlust rage. The were without a doubt more than capable of defending themselves with their strength and size alone but I don’t think they were hyper-territorial like Hippopotamus, bulls or Moose are. Given there large size and required daily intake they were more than likely concerned about eating than the presence of any lesser creatures around them since as healthy adults they had virtually nothing to fear save for natural disasters and inclement weather. Would they likely attack and kill something that attacked them, sure, but I highly doubt they were going out of there way to attack and kill thing’s purposely. I can see them just casually trampling anything in their path however.
I personally find the idea of an aggressive sauropod fascinating. Perhaps it's because we dont see a ton of aggressive sauropods in media, so maybe I subconsciously like it more because it's a new idea. Also, most modern large herbivores are aggressive, so it makes sense that a massive sauropod isn't an exception
I'd never thought I'd see the day. As much as I love Dino Predators, I feel like retro content kinda neglects these poor majestic animals by making them into harmless fodder. Even if these are just alien dinos they should reflect their irl counterparts at least slightly. Besides, rule of cool should still apply for a game like this.
The brontosaurus and the dicraeosaurus Just look like they belong to the original game, mostly the dicraeo tho,the bronto has some insanely smooth animations The nigersaurus is awesome too, gotta love It with that Sweet cannon-style texture.
I think Brontosaurus is my favourite in the mod because it just looks the most menacing out of the roster and great video as well keep up the good work
I hope there is an amphicoelias on FMUV32 It’s basically the largest dinosaur that ever existed Found by a single veritbrae dug up by Edward drinker cope I think it has a new classification But Amphicoelias was estimated at 60+ meters Now it’s known to be much smaller but I just hope somebody makes a model for it
Alas, amphicoelias doesn't exactly exist. The genus is dubious at best, and all remains attributed to it were changed to be attributed to Maraapunisaurus, a (still very large) much smaller rebbachisaurid sauropod
I wish amphicoelias did exist However this Is fmuv32 and the pure cryptic like nature or amphicoelias would fit PERFECTLY with the nature of the planet
@@lucas8663. plus FMMUV32's aliens are akin to the retrosaurs, so an FMMUV32 Amphicoelias fragillimus the size of an island could certainly work (maybe not island size, but damn near
Hey Saurian, excellent mod showcase as always. Although i had a question, did dicraeosaurus come out in game as small when you first implemented? I used Dicraeosaurus in my C+ mod and it came out titanic.
Personally id rather the nigersaurs have a bit more of a retro build, as i find the modern build makes it stand out a bit to much, but all 3 are still amazing! I got some sauropods planned for some of my projects and i hope they can match the quality of these guys!
Yeah I agree, the Nigersaurus could benefit from a more retro posture, maybe Jeff will consider revisiting it someday? I’m excited to see what future sauropods you have in mind! Your Magyarosaurus from Archipelagos is one of my favorite Carnivores sauropod depictions ever, I hope to get around to reviewing that one soon!
Nice to see you making more carnivores 2 videos, Subscribed and liked. I Still remember watching you be on a cliffside with a trex running toward you in some reloaded challenge.
Hello Saurian Target, ever since i started watching your videos i have been engrossed in the carnivores franchise and i thought to myself: I wanna play this game! But when i opened the game (the exe file) the screen was just black. Any tips to fix this please?
I like to use the Lotosaurus myself: it’s a big, easy target and it’s slow. If you crank the density up to max, they’re pretty easy to find and take down (and I’d recommend the revolver or FAL for it). During the late game, I like to use the SPAS to hunt Megalosaurus to grind points for the golden lever-action rifle.
Your vids are great, buuut,I noticed that the vids max quality is only 720P Plus,a lot of buffering happens,as I'm writing this,I don't get this buffering effect going on,hell,I made a test and guess what,no prob 🤔
Hmm I’m not sure how to fix that… I export my videos in 1080p so I’m not sure why the quality isn’t higher… maybe try again later and see if it’s up in HD?
@@SaurianTarget nooo,it's not the quality standard,it that if in the game,if there was constant in the camera the texture look like they came out of the Ms dos(not literally,it's the cause of said buffering),buuut, when the camera stops moving the video quality goes back to SEMI-720p.

Why do we assume say an Apatosaurus from the Jurassic wouldn't charge a Stegosaurus, as it might have an Allosaurus, that got too close to it?
Yeah if they truly were gentle giants they would have gone extinct. But it's generally believed they've been around for over 80 million years.
I think its supposed to be that they are so big that they have no natural predators (which is true from what we can tell) but realistically even if that made the adults gentle shouldn't the younger ones still be angry bastards?

The quality behind that brontosaurus is stellar! from the animations to the sound design, that is one official looking dino
