Oh, that makes sense! I'm on a 230 4-stroke right now comparing 2-strokes. The Beta 200 RR race is on the top of my list. It looks like you had a blast on it! @@alabamadirtrider
That 200 rips, but also has torque you wouldn't expect. You should try to test ride one if you can, it would be a completely different experience from your 230, but I think you'd like it.
@@alabamadirtrider white boots, black hoodie, camera mounted underneath helmet visor lol that’s seems to be a question I got a lot, I’ll see if I can catch myself in your footage somewhere and let you know a time stamp
Good video. Wished i had grabbed the 200 early cause i wasn't patient enough to wait on it. I did enjoy the 350 over the 390 on the trail. To me even the 430 had more manageable throttle in yhe tight stuff over the 390.
Great informative vid. It would be interesting to watch another youtuber's vid of this same Beta Demo day and compair opinions. I went specifically to ride the Xtrainer and I also rode the 200rr, not the race edition. I didn't notice the vibrations like you talked about but like you said, everyone is different. You and I ride the same. We've actually put in a few miles together so that makes your opinion of a bit more value to me than...say an A rider. I have a 2019 390rr-s and really like it. It does feel very nimble and light in the woods to me but I'm more of a fan of it for dual sport riding. I also have a 2014 300 race edition I bought new from Mark and have loved it. Have literally had no trouble with it. It's been a solid bike and sill is with 280 hrs. I plan to purchase another beta sooner or later. It won't be a race edition simply because I don't "need" that bike for what kind of riding I do. It will either be an Xtrainer or a 300rr. You are way more analytical and technical than I am so that type of info from you is good to hear.
i wish i could get a clearcut decision on the 430rrs or 390rrs without waiting till may for a demo day. im in WV i do a lot of mixed riding. more of luggy style rider, usually searching for traction in our single track riding and we do a fairbit gravel road riding while trying to minimize pavement time. i am TORN between these two and i don't have the oppurtunity to try either until may.
I haven't met too many people at the event who liked the 430, but a lot liked the 399, myself included. For a mixed style it riding, I really think it will be plenty without being too much.
@@alabamadirtrider oh yeah it healed after like 2 months! i got a pretty good sized hump on my left hand now too! i think what happened was i was in third going to fast and locked the rear break up and more power slid into the trees. it happens btw i was the guy in the red fox pants and red fox boots with the black hoodie and camo camel pack
They didn't have the 200RR at the demo, only the Race Edition. The main notable difference between the two is the KYB suspension on the Race bikes. They're better compared to the Sachs on the RR. Both can be tuned of course, but I think everyone will agree the KYB is better. So if you have the cash, I would get the Race just for the better suspension.
They were 2024. I only had about 8 minutes on each bike, so I'm not sure I can comment or compare. I also try not to sit too much, but I don't recall my butt being sore so I think they were fine.
Well, I'm a bit biased since my 300 is set up how I like it. However, I think the Beta is a great bike, I know a few people who have one and love it, one switched from a KTM 300 and hasn't looked back. My only complaint about the Beta 2 strokes is the vibration. I know many don't care or don't even feel it, but I can, and to me my KTM is silky smooth.

That's so weird, that's exactly what Les said about the 390. For me it was such an easy bike to ride, I wonder why?
